Miri sat on a bench off of one of the many streets of Katarina. Beside her sat her beloved starter, Fubuki, a little bumbling Delibird of a pokemon. In her hand, she held a small piece of paper and a pencil, which she quickly used to scribble with. The Ranger was preparing for a journey, and in order to get there she needed to make sure she had all of the proper gear. Without the right equipment, who knows what sort of predicament she could get into. Rangers always had to be prepared.
"First aid kit, flashlight, batteries, freeze-dried food, matches, sleeping bag, water..." the girl murmured as she rattled down all of the things she could think of at the top of her head.
The girl's Delibird dozed off beside her while his partner worked. Allene, Miriam's Rampardos, was still in her pokeball for the time being. She was the pokemon both Miri and Fubuki (for the Delibird always stayed with his trainer and very rarely went into his pokeball) rode on their way to Motterossa. Miriam was on her way to check out the strange Eevee swarms that were talked about on the news. It was a big deal and with swarms of Eevees would come swarms of people; she knew that for a fact. Hence why she was on there way there, to help keep crowd control down, if anything. The last thing she needed was humans (or pokemon, for that matter), getting hurt. As a Ranger, it was her job to make sure everyone was safe.
She finished with her list a moment later. "There! Alright, Fubuki -- let's go." As she said this and got up from her spot, the Delibird snapped awake immediately. "Deli..?" he mumbled, half-drowsy before following along after his trainer. They were off to the Pokemart now! It was time to get their things.

"Thank you," Anise said as she took the clipboard and sat down. The information was pretty basic stuff and didn't take too long to fill out, so in no time at all she's turned in the form, played the 1000 yen for the first day, and headed into the stable to pick a mount.
After a moment's consideration, she headed for the section with the Ponytas and walked slowly down the isle, looking at the various ones available. After a few moments of trying to judge their temperament, she walked up to one who was watching her from inside the stall, its ears pricked upright curiously. "Hello there," she told the pokemon as she held out a palm for it to sniff. The Ponyta sniffed her palm for a moment, then nosed it a little. With a smile, Anise pulled an apple out of her pocket and offered it to the pokemon. The treat was happily accepted, as and the Ponyta crunched away at the fruit, Anise began to pat her head. The Ponyta nudged her shoulder, asking with its eyes for another treat, making Anise laugh. "Maybe a little later, ok? I take it you wouln't mind if I rode you for the trip with the Pokemon Express?" The Ponyta shook its head in a rough approximation of the human gesture, making the healer laugh again. "Well, let's get a look at you, then."
Anise stepped into the stall and looked her new mount over quickly, making sure the Ponyta was in sound health (and finding out that it was a mare), then let out her Delcatty. "Here, meet my pokemon, Felix. We'll all be traveling together for the next few days, so why don't we all get to know each other?" She began petting the Ponyta as the two pokemon started chatting away in their own language.

Luna opened her pokegear again and noticed the late text message. She really needed to get her pokegear updated, it was probably the oldest model in the market by now. But, despite her gym leader status, she wasn't rich by any means.
ChuChu's stomach grumbled as Luna walked out of the gym and into the rain.
"Oh? You're hungry ChuChu?" Luna asked. She received a nod and a hopeful look on ChuChu's face.
"Chuuuuu..." The raichu flashed her trainer her best rendition of the puppy eyes.
"Haha, ChuChu, Albireo is your team mate. I'm immune to puppy eyes by now. But we'll go grab something to eat...have to drop by the mart for some supplies though...and an umbrella, don't want to catch a cold!"

He had spent the last hour walking from store to store, glancing through windows and attempting to figure out exactly what it was that one brought with them on one of these things. Having spent a good part of his life very sheltered and not educated in this sorta thing at all, the red-head was utterly lost! How was he supposed to get to Motterossa if he couldn't even figure out what it was he needed!?
For the hundredth time, the young man glanced at his wallet, staring at the money he had in there. It was all he had left from his parents, and they were far to upset with him to send any more. But they just didn't get it! He had spent his whole life doing nothing, nothing, nothing! He was now going to go out there, get himself one of them Eevees (if it was that last thing he EVER did!) and then he was going to prove himself! He was going to prove he could be a part of Team Rocket. He was gunna show all them that laughed at him when he was a kid.
But first.
"What the hell is this!?" he eyed a strange box that seemed to be some nutritional substance, but he wasn't sure if it was for him or for pokemon themselves.
He needed to figure out what it was he needed!

The moment Kayla left the shaded area of the two buildings, she was attacked by the rain. Fortunately for her, she had her clear rain coat to protect her clothes, though her shoes were another story. Kayla sighed. "Luckily I got an extra pair in my pack." Snookie was happily bouncing behind her, enjoying the rain. Twirling and giggling as the rain tickled his noise, Snookie looked around for any familiar faces or anyone with sweets to share.

Ridley had spent the morning preparing Soulcrusher for the trip, stroking the spotted pokemon as he loaded up the sloping back with generous amounts of supplies. It was not unusual to been seen leading around a large pokemon, so the Rocket did so with impunity. He'd put on a little more weight, bulking up, and there was a keenness to his gaze. He was still a grunt, after all, and his failure on past missions was making the powers that be a little wary of him. He needed to prove himself, and this try to Motterossa was the way that he would do it.
Soulcrusher snorted, following after Ridley in the drizzle, ruminating quietly as he stood with him in Pokemarts, collecting all of stock he would need for the trip. He didn't let himself dwell on his task overmuch. After all, he wanted to enjoy himself, too. Leaving the cloying city was welcome. He always did like adventuring beyond the edges of Zatao's largest settlement, to see the virgin land beyond.
He didn't yet head for the ranch where much of the group would be gathering, spending the morning in the city, even after he'd prepared Soulcrusher. For once he had a cap pulled down over his eyes, his Tauros inside its Pokeball as he browsed the sparse available street carts for some breakfast.

(I'm dressed like my trainer)
(@Lungrot) Having spent most of the morning preparing for this trip Alex hiked her bag higher on her shoulders. She was having trouble looking for one last thing. A hard chewy candy that came in boxes. It seemed the whole city was sold out. She walked into the isle that housed the delishious snack. A confused looking boy was holding what looked to be the last box in the city.
Alex tapped the confused boy on the shoulder. "Are you going to buy those? It looks like the last box." Alex smiled and hoped she sounded polite enough. Those were her favorite snack and it really did look like the last box.
The thought of such a long trip without her favorite treat was almost enough to make the strawberry blonde shudder.

(( @Shi)) Luna spotted a familiar orange blur ahead near the street the pokemart was located on. She squinted and walked closer, wondering just who the trainer was. Then, realization struck her.
"Kaaaaaaylaaaaaaa!" She called out, running towards her friend.

He needed to figure out what it was he needed! "It's a good thing we have all of our camping gear for sleeping and what not," Miri said to her Delibird as the two of them walked along. "That means we really only have to focus on getting the proper food and medical supplies, plus a few odds and ends, maybe." The Ranger nodded at this, and Fubuki bobbed his head knowingly in return. This wasn't the first time the two of them had made a journey like this. In fact, this was just one of many. Due to Miriam's job as a Ranger, she and her team of rescue pokemon had to go on many an adventure such as this. The two of them knew how to prepare, and the Delibird was relieved to know his trainer would be well-stocked when the time came. It was nice to have such a resourceful partner.
Given the size of the city of Katarina, it was packed with stores. This was a good thing, not only because it gave a lot of options for people to go to, but also because it was convenient. Miri and Fubuki made their way to a nearby Pokemart, and passed a certain red-haired young man as they did so. This would be the first stop of theirs, and probably not their last. It was best to get all of the supplies for her pokemon out of the way first, the teenager recalled. That way she knew she had all of the proper things for them without having forgotten. Her team was her first priority, after all. Anything she might want or need came second to them. Her team was her life, and without them, the Ranger wouldn't be where she was today. Because of that, she had to make sure that she had everything for them so they could stay in top physical condition.

Kayla turned at someone yelling her name and had to stare at the trainer for a few seconds before it hit her who she was gawking at. Kayla burst into a grin and waved back. "Hey Luna! Long time no see!" Snookie turned also at the yell of his trainer's name but noticed the pokemart. Excitedly, Snookie tugged Kayla's bag and pointed. "Want!"

He had just realized that the box was indeed human-food, but still decided against it because of the fact that it was a sweet treat. He hated sweet things! He was just putting it down when a finger tapped his shoulder. Dace jumped slightly and turned towards the girl. She spoke to him, and for a moment he blanked out.
Then jerkily he handed her the box. "Ur," he managed (he never spoke well to girls), "here," he finished, then glimpsed over her shoulder, when another girl caught his eye. Girls had a tendency to catch Dace's eye, to be honest, but he also noticed her gait. She was sure of what she was doing, walking with a destination in mind. He even glanced over her belt and the delibird walking next to her, which only added to his interest.
He smiled at the treat-wanting girl, totally forgetting to ask her name, and bowed slightly. "I gotta go now," he said, and then to add a little friendliness to his speech, he added, "maybe I will see you later?"
Then, with skills that are unrivaled by any, Dace followed after the girl, in total and complete ninja-like secrecy. Which including stumbling over his own feet and knocking some tins onto the floor, which clattered and clanged like loud, annoying wind-chimes (minus the pretty sounds that wind-chimes make, and all the sound of metal clanging against hard floor).
"Rats," he groused, ducking back behind a shelf.
So much for stealth!

Lumina watched the rancher show the forms. Following suite, she penned out a form and set out to rent out a ponyta, giddy with anticipation. Sure it was only a rental, but the watcher never really had a chance to hold a pokeball of her own.
Her mother worked with pokemon all the time, but only at the office so she could only watch. Grinning ear to ear, she followed the crowd and found herself matched up with a ponyta. Pale fingers reached out as she gently touched its nose, her grin rivaling that of the Cheshire cat's.
"Not raining too hard yet. You wouldn't mind a short test ride to the pokemart would you?" The ponyta shook its fiery mane but offered no further protests.
It was an awkward moment at first, trying to figure out how to mount the creature, but soon enough they were at a slow trot towards the store where it looked like other trainers had started to congregate.

((Mah Trainer is headed towards Luna and Kayla for interaction~ 8D))
Kary was practically foaming at the mouth with excitement for the upcoming adventure.
Well, she would have been, had she not been going over the list of supplies she was bringing for what was possibly the seventh time. The young trainer mumbled under her breath, moving her fingers up and down as she mentally crossed things off her checklist.
"Umbrella," she said aloud with a faint smile as it came up on the list and gave the compact umbrella in her other hand a twirl. Being prepared was already paying o- "Sunblock!" She said with a start. Turning on her heels and stumbling a bit from the weight of her already stuffed backpack, Kary made a beeline for the nearest Pokemart.

"Yeah! I haven't seen you since our last battle, you really should drop by more. I don't have your number so I can't call yo-"
Beep! Beep!
Luna looked down at the watch strapped to her wrist and pressed a few buttons to turn off the alarm that she hadn't even set.
"Sorry 'bout that, my poketech is a prehistoric fossil. If you gave me your number, I probably still wouldn't be able to call you!" Luna let out a hearty laugh. "Anyways, what are you up to? Going to Motterossa to see the swarm?"
While the trainers talked, ChuChu sympathized with Snookie's thoughts. She carefully sneaked off Luna's shoulder and made her way towards the pokemon center alone, secretly waving a paw at Snookie to signal the fellow pokemon to follow.

There weren't many out on this drizzly morning, the normally-bustling streets reduced to a trickle of people wandering about, carrying umbrellas or newspapers over their heads as they hurried about their way. Already the pavement was beginning to collect small puddles of water, reflecting the overcast sky back upwards, broken by sneakers and paws and the raindrops themselves. The shops in the city seemed to be profiting greatly from the rain, however -- from every window silhouettes outlining people and pokemon were visible, restaurants packed fuller than usual with people trying to get out of the rain.
Despite the grim, dreary day, Liam reclined back in the wire chair in front of the tiny bakery, sipping some coffee and reading the 'Groudon Gazette' under one of the tiny striped umbrellas propped up over the tables, tapping one foot casually against the little round table in front of him. His Joy-pink hair was damp, an obvious sign he had been out for a while, the long locks of hair clinging to his face and against his black shirt. The ends of his blue-jeans, too, seemed to be sporting the rainy morning shower, soaked about half a foot up his calves from where water from puddles splashed up as he walked. But despite his wet appearance, the healer seemed unperturbed by the weather, and if he was at all uncomfortable he didn't seem to show it. Instead he set down his coffee cup, picking up the shrunken pokeball at his waist and moving it between his fingers idly.
