Drawing closer to the water, she realized that her companion was still on her back. Not wanting to accidentally bring her companion in the water, she shuffled her wings a bit against her sleeping companion to wake him up. After a few nudges, her companion stirred and shifted to stand up on her back. She assumed he saw the water, and felt him jump off her back to land on the ground beneath her. After smiling down to the wolpertinger, the mare began to enter the water, submerging herself until her wings were deep into the water. The water was cool against the warm air, but she didn't mind. She just needed to wash the grime off of her.

The mare stretched out her wings, letting the water flow over them and flexed her muscles in her wing to make small flaps to irritate the water around her wings. Satisfied with the amount of water logging her wings, she drew her wings back to her body, leaving it for grooming after she was done rinsing the rest of her body off. She would hate to litter the river with feathers.

She just had one more thing to do before she was done! Lowering herself to dunk her head in, the mare forgot about the flower that adorned one of her ears. While dunking her head, the flower dislodged and floated on water, bobbing up and down with the water. It was slowly started to moving along with the river's current, moving downstream away from the mare. The young mare drew her head away from the water, and shook her head to get rid of the excess water.

All drenched with water, she moved away from the river and towards the bank, not realizing that her flower was disappearing from sight the longer that the mare did not realize it was missing. It wasn't long until it was gone.

Aleshanee took a peek over to where she had last seen the angeni mare, and appeared happy to still see her there. She offered the mare a warm smile, still drenched from head to hoof with water. Settling down by her napping companion, she started grooming herself starting with her curly tail.
