She had not yet received an answer from the first or second pup when another came up to her bearing the Bison hair, now she truly was amazed at these pups and their already obvious knowledge of their territory and the animals that thrived there, thus she announced, 'Cocidius has made friends with a squirrel, who is rather mischievous, I have not seem him about yet this morning but I'm sure he's around. Therefore I shall care for your item if you answer me this riddle correctly, if not I will not watch it and Rowan may steal it. The riddle is:
I'm that which is seen only in darkness, Swiftest of all, and near as old as time; Day's distant brother; fire and faintness, I light without shadow — can you solve this rhyme?'

Athena soaked in the words of her riddle. Brow furrowed in thought as she worked out an answer. It was an interesting riddle and she was certain she knew the answer. Looking up at the bear her tail wagged slightly. "It's a glacier." She said confidently, but then asked. "Right?"

A riddle..great, Aegean sat down on his haunches and stared at the ground in thought while he puzzled over the words to his riddle, repeating the words over in his head to try and work it out. Only seen in darkness - well there were lot of things only seen at night, the moon, owls, stars, mosquitoes...mosquitoes and owls were swift alright but he didn't think they were all that old per say though h wasn't sure just how long owls lived...
Defintely not as old as time. The moon was old else there wouldn't be all those old stories that mentioned it and the stars had to be just as old right? Though he wasn't entirely sure how they fit into the swift part...unless they meant night turning into day and night sure did seem to pass by quickly. One minute you'd close your eyes and the next you were waking up. Yep that had to be it.. so moon and starts were in...mosquitoes and owls were out.
Day's distant brothers - alright well that could be both the moon and the stars, they both glowed, but he didn't think the moon was all that faint..or fiery. Shooting stars looked fiery though so it had to be something to do with them. He didn't think the answer was 'star's however else that last bit about the light wouldn't have been tacked on when the answer was already obvious, ear perking up as the notion finally struck him he jumped to his feet and barked out "Starlight!" Then cocked his head as though waiting for the bears confirmation.

Cernunnos listened eagerly and memorized the items to search for, but his excitement was too much; without waiting to see where the others decided to hunt, he nearly bolted in the first direction he saw. Straight ahead was rough brush and forest, a good place to hide things if no one wanted them to be found, and sticking his nose into the dirt he crawled into semi-darkness. Thorns pulled at his coat and small bugs whirred near his ears, his little body just big enough to fit in what may have been an old rabbit’s nest, but to no avail; he found nothing there, though it could have been dark enough to be some unlucky thing’s grave. He tugged and grunted back the way he had come, a bit dismayed to have missed out on finding a hidden trinket, but he would not be completely defeated. This was a lesson in patience and fore planning, neither of which he had provided in the beginning.

This time, Cern’s sense of direction was rewarded. He moved through clearer brush, under canopy but still quite in view of the sky, gently swinging his head side to side as he not only scented, but tasted, the air. He had narrowed down his hunt to something small and overlooked, yet generously given by nature - a feather - and for that, he would have to find where fowl liked to nest. Trees gave way to a weedy meadow, an open path of land where the grasses chose to grow higher than his head, and circling just at the treeline he heard quiet movement.
Pheasants!
He knew the scent, and knew that the fat birds enjoyed nesting on the ground where eager little puppy paws could reach. His only concern was to find the right feather, and walking as silently as he could he approached the nests. Beady little eyes acknowledged his presence, wings flexing as if to take flight, but keeping a respectable distance he found for himself a fine, delicate feather; bringing it back to the ring of rocks was an almost harrowing ordeal, as the feather liked to flex and wiggle with each breeze, but after a rather long time away he finally sat again before the bear. He placed the feather on the ground, but kept one paw on its downy bottom, to keep it from flying free.

Aineislis watched as the three pups seemed to contemplate their answers, the young female answered first and she confirmed her answer, 'Yes, a glacier.' She did not hinder the small pup by questioning her, know she'd be eager to be off again to find her next treasure but Aineislis was curious indeed, how did such a young pup know of such a thing, their training must of started at such a young age and good at that, she felt a great desire to meet more of the pack members but slowly she told herself.
The first male who had returned to her had still not answered, wondering if he was debating the answer within himself and was in need of a clue but before turning to ask him thus the second male that had returned with the Bison hair piped up with an answer, 'Yes, well done, starlight it is indeed.'
As she confirmed the answer to the third riddle the green male pup came into view, he had a feather clutched in his jaw and she smiled at the way he seemed to struggle with it as it blew about in the lightest breeze in his grasp. But turning and smiling at the two pups which had provided her with correct answers to their riddles she pulled their treasure into her and protected them with her large paws.
She focused back upon the green male whom now sat in front of her guard his fly away feather, she smiled at him, 'Having trouble with that young one? I'll keep an eye on it for you if you answer me this riddle:
I welcome the day with a show of light, I steathily came here in the night. I bathe the earthy stuff at dawn, But by the noon, alas! I'm gone. '

Athena beamed as the bear confirmed her answer was right. Not wanting to waste any time she scampered off to find the next item. She had seen what had and hadn't been collected and so she was to look for a bone. Bones could be found in a number of places, but Athena figured that the most obvious of place would not be the best place to look so she set out in the other direction, eyes open for the item she looked for.

Bone, bone, she needed to find a bone. Well all animals had bones, but of course she didn't think that bringing back a live animal would count. Plus her hunting skills weren't that great as of yet. So as she searched she began to think of other ways to acquire this item. Well, lets see here. When the pack was done eating a kill all that was left was some hide and bones - it suddenly clicked and the green pup picked up the pace as she dashed towards where she hoped she would find a bone.
Aha! Athena was so proud of herself. Father had told her that after a kill is done with that the bones and hide were taken away from the dens so as to not avoid any vermin. And as luck would have it, she knew where the latest kills remains had gone. It was just a matter of picking a bone from the pile that was managable for her to carry. Ah, there was one. Picking up the good sized bone Athena scampered back to the bear, tail wagging happily. Setting it down she looked up at the large bear and awaited her riddle.

Cernunnos' eyes grew wide, and he wagged his tail furiously. "Dew!" he replied brightly, fully aware that though noon was fast approaching the grass was still just wet enough. "Dew comes in the dark, and is always gone by noon. And in the right light, it sparkles."
There was still a bone to be found, and for a while Cern thought of traipsing out to find one, but as he turned his head he saw his sister approaching with what happened to be one held in her jaws. So she had found two treasures! While Cern was more than happy with his feather, he was elated that his sister had gone further than any of the pups; he offered a congratulatory smile, curious to know just what riddle the bear would give.

Still awaiting an answer from the first to return to smiled motherly at him and went to offer him a clue until her attentions were draw back to the sound of another pup returning, she grinned, it was the female again, Aineislis was impressed indeed, she hoped once this treasure hunt was over she'd have a chance to really get to know these pups better, they all seemed so eager to learn and to please and that was nothing but a good thing in her eyes. The pup waited expectantly at her and she did not keep her waiting, '
An eye in a blue face Saw an eye in a green face, "That eye is like to this eye" Said the first eye, "But in low place, Not in high place."'
She she issued her final riddle Aineislis laughed the sound low and booming but it held a warmth that was pleasing to the ear, all the items had been found and in such a short period of time she had not expected, the green male turned to her and produced his answer to his riddle and she smiled at him, 'Yes, you are correct, pretty isn't it I like morning dew it's cooling on the paws, best after a remembered hot day the day before.'
She looked about the stone circle and wondered when the other pup would return with something, hoping it would not be long, seeing as though the others had done better than she had hoped she would have to find something else to do with them for the rest of the day. Perhaps she'd teach them how to track, a useful skill and they all seemed intelligent enough to pick it up quickly, the young female especially.
((Okay, over quicker than I thought but I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted. Edits go to She-Ra, whom gets the medicine bag, the bracelet edit goes to Ol-j-man and the Bison hair edit goes to Jet. Hope your all still interested in carrying on with the RP however... I'd love for Aineislis to have them for the day, so to speak and to teach them something else... all game?))

Athena smiled at her brother, tail wagging in excitement. She had found two items, but her happiness was pushed to the back of her mind as she concentrated on the bears next riddle. Oh that was a tough one. Face scrunched up in thought. Athena knew she could figure it out, it would just take some thinking. An eye in a blue face. Tail tapped on the ground as she thought about it. Saw an eye in a green face. Head tipped to the sky as she continued to dwell on the answer, and honestly she was getting a little annoyed with herself for not knowing the answer immediately.
Eyes glances at the sun for a moment. Hmmm. "Well..." She began even though she didn't exactly have the answer quite yet. "The sun." She spoke after a long pause, though it was clear by her furrowed brow she was still thinking it through. She knew the sun was part of the answer, but something was missing. An eye in a green face. "Oh!" She exclaimed as the answer seemed to suddenly come to her. "The sun and a flower, like a daisy, they both have eyes, ones high, ones low...the answer is the sun on the daises." And while she wasn't sure she had worded her answer right she was confident in it nonetheless.

Cernunnos nodded as the bear spoke wistfully of morning dew, though he had yet to experience a day hot enough to be soothed by such. This bear had much to teach, most likely, and had experienced things Cern could only imagine - so though the game seemed over, he decided to see what he could glean. He almost gave his own wistful comment about dew - how he enjoyed rolling about in it if the morning promised a hot day - but one look at his sister was enough to stop him. She was concentrating heavily on the riddle she had been given, evidently quite a bit if he was one to judge her tapping and head tilting.
This particular riddle was a difficult one, however, one that he doubted he could have answered, and when Athena gave a good, reasonable answer (at least, an answer Cern could understand as being correct), he realized he could learn just as much from his observant older sister. Ah, maybe not as much, seeing as logically an adult bear had experienced more in life than a wolf pup, but he could definitely try to be as perceptive as she was.
[(Congrats, guys~ Cern'll be hanging around for some extra lessons, definitely~)]

Colorblind or not, Neptune had assumed his sense of smell and hearing were surperior to his peers, and . . . well, needless to say, the trees all looked the same to him after a while. All gray blurs standing silently. For some reason it gave him a headache to concentrate solely on finding the indentions his paws had made, his breath coming shorter with the jewel kept in his mouth; and boy did the pup make sure he had a good grip on that one! The last thing he needed was to swallow or suck the thing into his lungs!
Yet it stung at him how slow he was returning to the stone circle, stung at him worse than a hornet's sting, stung at him worse than icy rain, stung at him worse than a thorn embedded in a pad. He ambled forward, turned this way and that, growled curses a puppy shouldn't know to himself whenever he stumbled over another camoflauged rock, yet never could it be said that the jewel escaped from his small fangs. However he found it, dangit he was going to make sure it never went out of his sight!
What I should've done was make markers . . . Gods! Yes, Neptune knew he couldn't possibly have had the time to do this when the game was all about speed, but it didn't stop him from being overly critical about the strategy he should've employed. Was that was this "game" really was about? Find an object, bring it back. It was all just basic tracking . . . and he was failing basics?
This only spurred him on further in indignation, eventually finding the scents of his peers growing stronger. Panting, the pup broke into a run and returned to the dark-faced bear, spitting the jewel at her feet like it was an ill-fated pebble and nothing more; and in his sight, it truly was. Gods, but he had forgotten the catch, and she was just praising one of the pups for answering a riddle previously before turning to him and offering one of his own.
Stones, I don't know . . . Neptune hated riddles. Things made purely to confuse you were irritating, not entertaining! Foul, foul wordplay, that's what this was. A fool's errand and a jester's game at his expense! Neptune glared at the colorless stone for countless seconds, not hearing what went on about him. Gods, he did not want to be here at all, not in this blasted summer morning with little sleep and gloating little pups revelling over stupid objects. He wanted to be wading in the waters just after sunset, feeling cold currents run through his toes like wily snakes, hear the sounds of splashes like laughter that caused little waves. It made him long to go to the place they called the "beach", where they said waves could be as large as him even -
"Waves!' Neptune whispered fiercely under his breath, glare disappearing momentarily in his revelation as he looked to the bear. "A wave."
With that, Neptune fell to his haunches, taking deep breaths to calm himself down again and not get too overheated. The sun had rose while they searched, andalready he was disliking the bright light. Cloudless sky, of course! Of course . . . Through half-slitted eyes, he glanced at the others' catches. Seemed Aegean had nabbed the bison fur, but it was Athena who had the most of them. Antlers and bone . . . Great. He shut his eyes and wished he had the will to grit his teeth, though his jaw ached after exerting the pressure upon the jewel for so long. So careless . . . !

Aegean watched as that blasted vine covered female returned with another item - drat her and her quickness! Glowering only slightly he huffed and shouldered himself to lay beside Neptune who seemed to be in a similar temper. "I bet she cheated!" He whispered to his brother with a glare in her direction - though he made sure to do so when the bear wasn't looking.

Aineislis was rather stumped to say the least, the wolf pups seemed to have such a great awareness of their general environment already but then their fathers where the hunting captain and the trainer, no doubt their fathers had some role to play in their current level of knowledge. She nodded slowly to herself and then looked at the teal coloured female who had collected two of the items and smiled as she answered the final riddle, 'yes, well done indeed. The sun upon the daisies is correct.' She smiled down and around at them all and pondered upon what to do with them all now, a humorous picture of her snarling and chasing them all in jest first jumped to mind though she soon dismissed it careful of her actions in the heart of the wolves dens and territory.
She was knocked out her reverie when the deep blue male finally provided her with an answer to the riddle she had issued to him she smiled encouragingly at him, 'Yes, a wave...' She wondered then if the pups had ever seen the sea, she doubted it and she doubted that any of these wolves would ever see such a spectacle, their homeland and territory was a vast distance from the coast, being closer to the mountain range. She rolled an idea about in her head and then asked the pups, 'So then... have any of you here ever fished before?' fishing required a lot of patience and skill and wolves general could gain more calorific food from hunting as a pack but fishing was a useful skill and required other skills to master it.
