*stumbles from the latest announcement, with a slight hangover to be honest*
aha, well that makes sense. why just sell animated items when you can sell stuff to keep them animated.

I wish they would have either made the animation permanent or turned off the animation period. Knowing the Gaian staff, the recharge item will probably cost Gaia Cash. At least animated items will retain some of their "value" with the ability to recharge...

Well, it had better be inexpensive and in the form of an item (like Power Picks), so it can be sold on the marketplace. Someone suggested using the recharge as a gold sink instead of charging Cash, but I doubt that will happen.
*begin rant* Gaia is a business, and all this Cash stuff is making good money. Why would the Gaian staff want an effective gold sink if current inflation trends are encouraging more people to purchase and sell Cash items so they can afford otherwise unattainable super-rares. I'm sure they're making more money than ever with these animated items and frequent Cash Shop updates. Why not make a little extra on the side by charging users real money to recharge animated items? It is getting out of hand. *end rant*
At least Gaia is still giving out the occasional free item...

Haha. I don't get into arguments often. I am just tired of Cash Shop updates. I miss the days when MCs were still called "Donation Items" and I actually felt good about supporting the site with a little money now and then.
Edit: My frustration has been nullified. The items will be reanimated using an item called Blessed Stellarite. It is a free Daily Chance grant.

I like the items but I think for the amount of cash or gold you spend that they should remain animated...what is the point of taking that feature away...it defeats the purpose of the animation

I was browsing the Q&A forum last night, and it has been confirmed that members are finding it in Daily Chance.

I tried on the flying owl while animating the halo and they both animated at the same time (though my computer is pretty fast, it did slow down at bit with all that animation).
I am surprised they'd just put it in Daily Chance. I know lots of folks will want it who don't get it, and others will get it who don't want it. Weird things could happen in the marketplace as a result. Why not just make it something we can buy either from cash shop or a gold shop (though which gold shop - interesting discussion there!)?

Dernier Cri most likely. xD It caters to the "rich" of Gaia and it allows for the reanimation item to be priced pretty high. Which makes for a fantastic gold sink.

nuh uh, not Dernier Cri. everything costs millions of gold there. something that would be half way affordable there would be out of place.

They look really cool with the sparklies and all that, but it's a pain in the butt to get a picture of it. You can't right-click and save, nooooo, you have to take a screen capture, crop it to the avi, see if it was the frame you wanted, and then save it.
Sorry, artist's rant sweatdrop
