His glare was still prevalent, but he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow to her words. "Not everyone knows everything, Miss." He said sharply. He wasn't sure why he had even said anything nice. It must have been the fall.
"I'm not one for manners, but if you believe I could whip your a** ,despite your 'training,'" he made a gesture with his fingers to emphasizes how loosely he used the term. " Then why insult my.." he had to pause and think if he was insane or not. He must have been insane, but it would just sound awkward to say otherwise so he choose other words "...intelligence? I mean, I harrass brutes all the time..but I know I can kick their butts back to their home planet" he added as he crossed his arms and shifted his weight to his left foot. He was unimpressed and angry..but curious none the less

"I would sure hope not...but all we are ever faced with is what we don't know, or should know. I mean...when was the last time you were scolded or looked down upon for knowing how to walk? Its silly, right? We are gaged immediately for the extent which we do not know, rather than what we do. But not to sound like a windbag, thank you anyways." Snapping her ears to the sides to give her a rather awkward look; which was mirrored by how she felt inside...she knew she was babbling and thrown off by that niceness.
She wasn't sure she liked it either.
"It's nothing against you, sir. Thats honesty, even if you don't believe me. I'm not one for friends, and well, I bicker and fight with my brother on a near daily basis; train with my father or try and learn things by myself." Turning her head away so her long hair shielded her face a bit she found herself crossing her own arms over her chest. "To be frank, old habits die hard; and im not exactly a social butterfly and have met a lot of people outside my family. So....yeah. I appologize, i'm trying here." Clearing her throat, she found her eyes drifting up to the horizon as the sun finally began to rise ; knowing it would be warming up soon. "And since I nearly get myself killed when one of the covenant finds my sorry a**; it just confirms you'd probably kill me too."

"Why would I kill you...Your supposedly on my side.." he shrugged and looked at his arm. "Granted we don't get along despite this..'alliance'" again he made a gesture "But To kill you would bring a REAL Spartan...and I'm sure that one could easily whip me around and put me into the hell I belong." he sighed. What he wouldn't give to be talking to ODSTs right now.
"So if the Covenant do come here...even though you say they are here..I'm sure you have nothing to worry about." he stood straight again and brushed some dust off his shoulder with his blood type boldly printed on a white sticker. How he was glad the UNSC came up with that.
"Now..if you'll excuse me, but I have to figure out what the hell is going on here." Without so much as a nod, he expertly about faced and walked off, wobbling a bit as he tried to walk in the elongated body, tripping and falling once or twice, and cursing the entire time

Nariko rolled here eyes, even though she knew he'd be unable to see with the way her head was skyward. However she did look back to watch him brush himself off; noticing how dirty he really was. "Oh joy, so I can be a further disgrace and have someone fight my battles." As horrible as it sounded, what she wouldn't give for some threat of war to have her sent to real training....yet at the same time was conflicted since she knew the devastation her mother would have to lose both a mate and a child off into space.
"Like I said...since I don't know what you are, or you as a person I can't gage what you'd do. Thats also considering I really, really pissed you off." Yet before she could even go on he'd turned and left! Nariko would have been happy to go, estatic even to get back to her training; but as the sight of him tripping and cursing brought more of a nagging guilt than amusement.
"Good lord..." She breathed under her breath, quickly gathering her armor and caught up with him quickly just as he stood back up. Grabbing his tail she held it up so it was away from his legs. "Focus on keeping your tail lifted till here and you'll find walking much easier....at least till you get your barings back." No spite, no snark....just a helpful act on calm vocals.

He was starting to walk just fine when suddenly something pulled his tail and still being uneasy he wobbled and tried not to fall backward. Despite the heavy medical pack, the ODST caught his balance and got off of his heels. He whipped his helmet around and gave a harsh glare to the female Spartan as she moved his tail. The moment she let go, it fell limp on the ground. It wasn't something he wasn't used to controlling and in all honesty, he couldn't feel it. Much like often times he couldn't feel his fingers.
"Thanks, but no thanks. I'll walk on all fours if I have to!" he snarled as he fell forward and landed on his front paws. It was difficult for him to look up in his helmet, but he manged and continued his walk having little to no trouble now. Must have been the armor. It's pretty heavy for a human, but a fox...I don't know He thought to himself.
As he was just barely out of site for the normal line of sight, he sat down and activated his radio com, trying desperately to contact another ODST or an local UNSC ships, but all he got was static. "Son of a b***h...must be to far out" he said as he took off his helmet and ran his fingers through what little hair her had in frustration. He looked back wondering if that Spartan could help, but in his anger and pride he quickly discarded the thought

Folding her ears back as a dark scowl filtered on what could have been a pretty face if she was more feminine, the vixen snarled right back as it left a bad taste in her mouth. So this was what she got for trying to be helpful, well so be it! Nariko knew she was much better off on her own than with any male who never even bothered to tell her what branch of the military he was from or even his goddamned name.
As her paws clenched painfully at the form of his retreating frame she let out a sharp bark. "Well fine then you a**! See if I care when that crazy a** covenant tears your wobbly frame a new one!" Turning on her heels she stormed through the bush in the opposite direction of both her punching back as well as the ODST. Snapping branches and generally making a racket through the forest she mumbled angrily to herself; a fluid range of words which sounded vulgar on a female's lips fading on the breeze behind her.
She stopped a bit later at an old oak, dropping her armor down on the ground as she leaned her shoulder into the trunk; placing a paw on her hip and the other to cover her face as she tried to calm herself down. "Breathe, Nariko....calming, cleansing breaths...."

He was thankful for one thing about his new form. The huge new ears that allowed him to hear far more than he ever thought possible. They twitched and instinctively he turned to hear, essentially temper tantrums of the spartan as she blazed through the forest in rage. He shook his head and grimaced. "So quick to anger. Stupid youths..no wonder the military isn't the same anymore. "He sighed as he looked back to the helmet. It's clear visor faced him and with the lower half of a skull painted just underneath it was a reminded to him that he wasn't afraid to die and the last thing his foes saw...the face of death. His brow furrowed and he picked the thing up in his hands before standing and throwing it as hard as he could, coincidentally behind him.
"Damn captain. Why...why...why did that captain go through that black hole!" he said as he rubbed his eyes. Then an epiphany. "THE BLACK HOLE!!" he said as he looked up, eyes wide. He started to run, but fell, so he shifted to his 4 paws and ran as fast as he could hoping he would find that discarded helmet nearby

Lifting herself off the tree and moving her arms up to her shoulders while holding a breath, before letting them slowly drop as she exhaled. "Thank goodness for mother's relaxing techniques...." The vixen breathed with an air of calm; shaking the negativity from her soul and took out a small notebook before taking a seat on a fallen tree. It was filled with notes, drawings and information about the things she encountered in her journies. She flipped past drawings of other spartans and their armor; to notes about weapons; to a sketch of a covenant. Flipping to a blank page she luckily was blessed with a very good photographic memory and began to sketch out Dutch's armor.
Perking her ears, she heard a few rustles of leaves; but before she could even turn her head around the blunt force of the helmet cracked her in the back of her head. Eyes rolling back in her head she fell forward from the impact knocked out; the helmet rolling to the side of her body.

As he ran and ran, he came across a scent. He skidded to a halt and sniffed the air. "I guess something good does come from this schnooze" he remarked as he followed the curious scent. He had a vague memory of the smell, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it, but the scent lead him straight to the unconscious Nariko. He looked her over for a moment and saw a small laceration on her forehead. "That explains the smell, but what did..." he spotted his helmet that he callously threw only moments ago. It took him only seconds to figure out what happened and he sighed. The black hole would have to wait.
He shrugged the huge pack off of his back and walked up to the Spartan's left side, plopping the massively heavy pack beside him. He put 2 fingers near her trachea on her neck and pressed down gently. Feeling a heart beat, he checked to see if she was breathing. "Hmm..just unconscious then. And Romeo made fun of me for thinking these helmets couldn't do damage" he scoffed to himself as he reached over to his pack and pulled out a canister of biofoam. The laceration was huge and a threat, but having no band-aids, this would have to do. He squeezed a small amount over the length of the cut and watched it expand and stop the bleeding immediately. A temporary fix, but he would have no hopes of carrying her, so it would have to do.
"There..you witch." he snidely said as he put the pack back where it belonged and found a nice tree to sit against and wait.

It had been maybe over a hour when the still gentle throbbing of her head roused her from her unconsious slumber, ears and tail twitching at the sounds around her and how much each little noise added another painful throb to the chorus. Groaning she twisted and planted her front paws on the ground to lift her torso, a look of horror streaked across her face realizing she didn't have her armor on or weapon...and had no clue how she ended up on the ground.
As fast as lightning with obvious second nature she lunged behing the nearest tree and slipping out a switchblade hidden under her bodysuit she held it at ready and listened....trying to peice together what was going on. Leaning her head from behind the tree she glanced at her armor and out of the corner of her eye noticed the male from before sitting by a close tree to her armor.
"Y-you! What're you.....doing here....?" Nariko stepped out from behind the tree, flicking the blade back into its sheath. She was positive that it was safe with him still lingering, moving a paw back to rub her head when she felt the gentle squish of something admist her hair which had dried....blood? Feeling for a second she must have hit the nozzle which sent her drowsy nerves into attention as pain seared on the back of her head. "FREAKIN' AAAAhhhAAHHHHAAaaaa!" She hissed and tore her paw away as her body tensed to will away the painful tingle. "What the heck...happened?" She looked back to Dutch, a grimace on her face from the lingering pain.

Noticed she had come to, Dutch raised his head after pondering for a moment. "What the.." he remarked as she flipped up and jumped behind the tree, then peaked out seeing it was him. He raised an eyebrow in complete confusion. Is this the thanks I get from...well...at least trying to be considerate and sealing up the wound? I see how it is
"Well I got pissed about something and chucked my helmet...which I'm guessing hit you in the head..." he paused to look at the helmet he had yet to move from where it had fallen. " but anyway, I ran past here because of something else and found you unconscious and bleeding so I put biofoam in the wound so it's stop bleeding" he explained. He didn't expect her to understand so he just sat there with his arms now crossed as he waited for her reaction

Watching him as she listened, her body finally relaxing as much as it could she followed his gaze to his helmet and then to her armor. A part of her wanted to snap at him for being so careless with it as it had given her a considerable wound even if it was accidental....but the thing which nagged at her most was why he was still even here. She was thankful for his help, but after the lip they'd been giving each other she wasn't sure she'd even stick around....well; alright she would but only because of that crazy covenant she knew lingered the woods. Otherwise...
"Did you now..." She breathed out, still in her thoughts as she walked over to her armor and quickly slipped it back on and latched herself un; picking up his helmet to inspect the paint on it....secretly finding it an awesome customization but kept any traces of it from her expression. Turning back around she walked back to his side and held out the helmet to him. "Im not sure wether I should be angry or thankful...but im going to go with thankful. So....thanks...for whatever that biofoam is and sticking around..." Clearly uncomfortable with appologizing she waited till he would take the helmet before tilting her head and placing her paws on her hips. "What were you...running to?" Maybe she could at least point him in the right direction.

Preparing himself for a b***h fit, he was surprised she took the information so well. His expression of confusion was now just dumbfounded shock. "Your...welcome?" he felt his little anger speech sort of deflate, but he looked to the helmet and felt the fire rekindled. He took it with a paw and glared at it once more, completely furious with the fact that he was just abandoned...something he was used to but not like this. He wanted to be sent home after the war..but he and the rest of his team got stuck with being on duty.
"I...was..." he looked up trying to remember where exactly he was going..he just remember that he going somewhere to find out something about the Black hole..but...even then he didn't know where. "I..don't..know" he shrugged as he decided to keep his helmet as it was his former wife who painted the skull on and it was now a sort of keep sake. How foolish of him to throw it.

Don't say it, don't say it! Nariko nearly visibly had to hold back the smartass comment threatening to come out at the easy set up. She owed him. Damnit she knew it would grate on her till she could pay him back somehow; but how to repay the guy who doesn't even know what's coming out of his mouth half the time?
"Well.....I was going to head to the local noodle shop; I have some buisness there. You could....phone someone? or something? It's basically the only store place around for miles and miles; but it has rooms, a kitchen and things like that. I'll take you there....?" Nariko offered, looking around and caught sight of her notebook on the ground; shifting a few to the side and picking it up. Dusting the bit of dirt off she put it back into the compartment on which it came from.
"It's not very far....unless you have buisness out here to attend to."

He continued to stare at the helmet as he briefly went down memory lane, but he didn't stay their long as he heard the offer. He looked up and nodded. Putting the helmet on and mentally commanding it to go from clear and see through to black and opaque. He stood and adjusted his pants a bit as the had a tendency to ride up on him. Military always screw things up for ODST...even their pants he momentarily thought before returning his mind to the situation at hand. He waited for her to walk or respond or whatever, but he was far from patient. He was sure calling wouldn't do any good, but he was bound to find someone who knew what was going on
