"Hold on..." She pulled the phone away from her face for a moment, interrupting her argument with Demy so that she could respond to her cousin. "You don't know that many people, Lucien, so you can't possibly hate them. Not yet, at least. Besides, it's just a Friday night. It's not like I'm dragging you out on a Saturday or something."
A brief pause as she waited for him to argue back was given before she returned to the phone call, eventually prying an agreement to meet them at the mall in half an hour from her friend, provided she buy him something (or multiple somethings) once they arrived.
"I owe both you and Demetri, then... But you're both going." She grinned as she came back into the hall, ready to go with purse in hand. "Ready?"

He shuddered as he slipped into his room for a moment to pull his boots on and grab his wallet and cellphone. "I don't -like- people. There's a good reason not to know that many." He scrunched his nose before running a had though his hair and stepping back out into the hall.
"Friday night is just as bad! Everyone's out of school and doing stuff." He sighed as he met her in the hall. "No i'm not ready but i don't really have a choice cause you'll just drag me if i don't' go. I want ice cream ... cake ice cream with heart shaped rainbow sprinkles."

Her brow lofted slightly as she paused at the top of the stairs to listen to her cousin's demands. Eventually she smiled, shrugging her shoulders before heading down the stairs. "That sounds fine to me. I'm more than certain that Demy will be all over the idea of getting ice cream too... Especially if you mention rainbow sprinkles."

It was easy to catch a cab to their destination once they made it to her usual spot and she did her best trying to distract Lucien with idle chatter throughout the ride. Once they arrived at the mall she glanced around, trying to catch sight of Demetri Wright anywhere outside the doors to the food court. "If he's not out here we'll find him in the arcade. I told the runt to meet us out here, though..."

He didn't really like cabs either but at least Cordi dealt with the talking and he could just sit quietly and pretend he wasn't really there. The mall appeared to be as crowded as he'd feared and he chewed on his lip to keep himself from freaking out.
".... runt? He's not going to say "omg you're tall" is he? cause i hate that." He wasn't -that- tall for his age, really. Even if he knew that he was bound to get another inch or two before he stopped growing completely he didn't think it was that bad.

"It's a term of endearment. He's roughly my height... When I'm not wearing heels." Which she was at the moment, and often did save for when she was in the mood for wearing flats, or an event called for sneakers (she had several cute pairs for such occasions). "And you're not that tall, Luc. I think your charming just as you are. Lots of girls like it when boys are taller than them anyways..."
She ran her fingers slowly back through her hair as she glanced around once more, brow furrowing as she reached into her back pocket for her phone, tugging it out to see if she had a missed call or a text saying that Demy would be late. "If he doesn't show up within the next minute we'll go inside and look for him..."

There was no call or text, but Demetri Wright -had- finally decided to show up. The blonde had been off into the arcade checking on things as he usually did, but once he glanced at the time he had given a resigned sort of sigh and headed out to meet them. Oh he had argued against this meeting, mostly because he was right in the middle of a pissy-faced mood thanks to recent events with Z. He'd get over it, eventually, but for right now the world was just a giant ********>. Last time he had really gone out on Cordy's advice to get away from things the rave had been -attacked-. Had it been fun? ...Well yeah, but it still sort of sucked too. Hopefully this wouldn't end the same way.
At least for Cordy's sake he wasn't as brightly dressed as usual. Really he had just thrown on whatever looked clean, grabbed a glowstick and headed out. Said glowstick was currently being twirled in his fingers in a lame attempt to work off some of his stress.
"No need to sound an alarm or something, I'm here."
Demy 'hrmphed' at the sight of her phone and stopped before the two, giving them both a half-hearted smile.
"Sup?"

He scrunched his nose at the idea of girls twittering over him. That didn't seem like a good idea either. That would be more attention he wouldn't want and didn't need. ".... i'm not sure i want to be noticed for being tall either. I'd have to -talk- them."
He ran a hand though his hair and sighed. At least Cordi hadn't said anything about the clothes he had on when they left. She usually did since his fashion sense wasn't exactaly up to par.
He'd watched her pull out her phone and was about to ask why she didn't just call the other kid again before he heard his voice.

"There you are." She let out an exasperated sigh as she took Lucien by the arm so that she could tug him over to Demy. Beneath the sigh and the glimpse of annoyance she was smiling, clearly happy to see her friend (at least on some level)... Although now she was stuck with two fashion disasters instead of just one.
Ugh.
"You two are going to have to brighten up a bit or we're not getting ice cream after our shopping trip." Cordelia clucked like an impatient mother hen, giving both of the boys a gentle nudge towards the doors leading into the mall. "Dem, you remember Luc, right?"

Well at the very least the mention of ice cream (it -better- have sprinkles) seemed to pull him a bit out of his grouchy mood. Now he looked a bit more like the normal Demy that Cordy knew and 'loved'.
"Name's kinda familiar but uhhh...."
Demy stared at the other boy, a rather determined look crossing his face as he tried to remember where the familiarity was coming from. Judging by his silence he really wasn't coming up with anything.

He looked back and fourth between Cordi and Demetri for a moment before wishing he could crawl in a hole. He hated meeting new people, even if he'd supposedly met him before, and had no idea what to say. He knew whatever it was would be something stupid and silly and he'd regret it the moment it came out of his mouth. Better to just not say anything at all and stay in the safe zone.
Though he did spare a moment to think that of course the ice cream would have sprinkles. Though he really wanted chocolate ones and not rainbow ones. He'd just said that because he knew it would make Cordi glare at him.

"I believe Lucien said that he wanted sprinkles on his... But you can order whatever it is your heart desires and it's on me." She nodded, smiling brightly despite how distinctly uncomfortable things were going to be if Lucien continued to just not talk.
"Luc's my cousin. His father is... Was... Daddy's brother." She nodded. "He wasn't around all that much when you and I were little, but... I know he was there at least once over the summer, and that one Christmas."
While talking she slid her arm through her cousin's, guiding him along as they headed inside, eventually glancing at him. "You can talk, you know. Any suggestions as to what store we should start at?"

"Alright, I'll do this for sprinkles. Lots of them. Colorful ones."
The grin was back, more genuine this time. He'd worry more about Z and his stupid authority problems later, for now...ice cream! And shopping, of course.
"...OHHHH! Okay! Hey there Lucien! Man I don't bite, you can talk to me ya know? Or not, whatever floats your boat. Talking is better though cause I can't carry on a conversation with myself all day."
Actually he could, but that was beside the point.

His cheeks flushed slightly as he was scolded by his cousin and Demetri spoke to him. "um ... hi..." He waved his fingers slightly in a greeting along with his mousy hello. Demetri would probably make fun of him for being shy before they even got into the mall despite Cordi dragging him along with her toward the door.
"Store? um ... i don't go to malls ..." He had no idea what was in them besides the usual giant department stores that always made things overpriced. How was he suppose to make suggestions?

"Great. We've gotten introductions out of the way." She grinned, giving her cousin a light nudge before flashing him a bright smile. Cordelia had never quite understood why it was so hard for him to talk to people. Being the social butterfly that she was things like this just came naturally to her, although she was clearly more than willing to try and help her cousin bridge that particular boundary.
"Fine, you don't go to malls... What kind of clothes do you like, then? Or are you going to humor me and let me dress you up a bit too?" Her brow lofted slightly. On one hand she was hoping that he would say yes, but on the other... She almost wanted him to fuss just so she could make him pick a place to start shopping. "If we let Dem pick we're going to wind up somewhere like Arid Affairs."

Never been to malls? SHEESH! Demy would spend a lot more time at the mall if Hillworth would allow it. Alas, it did not.
As the other two tried to pick a store, Demy was busy looking around. Clearly, he was easily distracted by things. One thing brought back his attention though.
"Aw cmon Cordy, Arid Affairs is an awesome place to shop!"
