The glitch is not fixed. All fish can be glitched, new or not. I've experimented on 5-6 tanks with new and old fish. The fish just need to spend time in Barretts (for at least 1 glow period) and put back in the aquarium to "activate" the glitch. You will see the lifespan increasing on the fish in your aquarium (that have spent time in Barretts) as you pull other fish in and/or out of your tank into Barretts.
Not true about waiting for a glow cycle.
In the experiments above I put one dolphin in and out of the freezer as fast as my sad little dial up could go. With each change (in or out) the other 16 dolphins gained life. Try it. Open your tank in one tab and aquarium analyzer in another tab. Then after each move in or out refresh analyzer and observe the changes.
I am unsure about the part saying the fish have to have been in Barrett's freezer before. All of these dolphins were frozen during the fish strike. I have not tested it on a new dolphin that has never ever been in the freezer.
I used to think the amount of life gained depended on how long the fish had been left in the freezer but now I doubt that theory.
I do note life gained seems to depend some on the amount of life the fish has left to begin with. For example in the experiments I did last night putting one dolphin in and out of the freezer 20 times or more caused one fish to only gain about 2 months or less in life span. At the same time other fish gained YEARS. I have two fish in that tank that are not supposed to die until 2034. LOL!
I expect Gaia to figure out a way to undo that so I'm not depending on it but it is fun to look at.
