I'm not very confident that this will be another masterpiece. The creators originally intended the series to end after three seasons. Nickelodeon wanted six. I worry they may have pushed themselves to meet Nickelodeon's demands. Additionally, how will nonbenders revolt? Can anyone else picture this? I can't imagine they will put up much of a fight. Maybe I'm wrong, and I honestly hope I am, but I'm still a skeptic at this point.

you have a good point, but as long as it's not a live action movie, and it's actual avatar then it can't be that bad, even if it won't ever be as good as the original show.

This is true, thank you for giving me a bit more confidence in this. =)

The same way non-benders put up a fight in the original series: weapons and technology. Just look at the fight between Zuko and the earthbender soldiers in Zuko alone: he was fighting without bending and was able to take out three soldiers with his swords alone as well as put up an admiral fight against the leader. Imagine a group of people with that much fighting skill working together. Now imagine that they're using technology that What'shisface (the guy voiced by Odo who does all the inventions like exploding peanut butter) invented and have had 70 or so years to improve upon. If nothing else the raids on the southern water tribe proves that benders aren't undefeatable against overwhelming odds.

Large groups of people can do great and terrible things. They did keep water benders from bending (Until the 'bloodbending' theory came up), and they kept earth benders from bending, etc. etc.

It's like fighting the x men xD

True, true. Though I wonder if all elements joined together, with the highest levels of combat training available, would they win? It's quite possible. Especially with the avatar. I bet if benders aquired the technology to amplify their skills the nonbenders would flip their lids. =)

I really hope this will meet or surpass my expectation! scream Still...I'm still miffed about how they left cliff hangers in the series finale. evil So I'm disappointed that they're not gonna continue the original series. at the same time, I'm excited that its gonna be a new character.
