Terra The Yamabushi Carter444 how do i know if a gym leader does not have a aprentcise? sorry for the bad spelling) this is because soon i will be wi fi battleing as soon as i get a dsi Look at the opening post of the Gym and scroll down the list to see if they have any. If they don't, kudos to you buddy :p Gym leaders make sure their apprentices are active. If not then they update the list to let you know said person is NOT active. Since you want to know anyway here's a list of Leaders in our guild who don't or currently do not have an apprentice: ================== *Sideris Mane ((Psychic)) *Cormini ((Poison)) *kp_anthony ((Fighting)) *Kyrenx ((Flying) And of course poor *Luther Olathes :p ((Dark))

Kyrenx Craig Kubera Luther Olathes If I can ever get a stable Apprentice that learns well, I plan of giving him first dips on my Gym Spot when the day comes that I finally move on to something else. But, that is a whole nother issue for latter discussion. Now that right there is an excellent idea. Now that we have eight gym leaders, and if they all stay very active, they should have like competitions every so often, to see who the best apprentice is, and make sure they stay the best, and show them ropes, in case for whatever reason, the gym leader may leave, they can take over and we don't have to go through the process of a tournament, to get new gym leaders. The only problem with that is that new gym types (such as your Electric) would never be able to gain representation and I can't help but feel that simply passing down the gym to an apprentice would ruin the integrity of the gym league as a whole (no offense to any of the current apprentices).
As far as the whole "Best Gym in Gaia" idea of Luther's, I think this is honestly the first time I'm hearing about that. The idea I remember us discussing was a D/P Gaming event called "Gym Wars", and I don't recall it involving any other guilds. You're right, I guess it should just be the job of the top apprentice in the gym to defend his gym's honor if his leader resigns. Through the usual tournaments we do. Assuming, that each gym would decide on a top apprentice for this purpose, That way, since the people of that gym would know that that person has the best team from their gym next to the original leader. Then you should only allow that person from the gym to defend the gym's honor. Then if they lose we can do the same thing we've been doing where the old gym is closed down and a new one is opened up. However if they win, they can repost the gym with them being the leader, of the same gym and gym badge, with a kinda of memorial thread of who has won badges against the previous leader and small info about that. Sorry, I know I spout off alot of nonsense here, but I just like throwing out my ideas and getting feedback on them.

Well, that is similar to what we were looking at with our v2 of the apprentice system (though there is nothing set in stone yet, obviously) but I still strong feel that in no way should the gym apprentice be allowed to just take over a gym (through sheer default of inactivity), but hopefully, the incentives we have in mind, will be enough to entice members to sign up as an apprentice at a gym. And hopefully soon enough, our next advertising campaign of the wi-fi league will bring us some more challengers as we all know, it's been quiet in that place for quite awhile.

Well if the activity can be anything like February, then I believe that would be best.

I am hoping to be his apprentice and get his name off of the un-apprenticed list you put above >.< But I agree with Ky, handing down the gym to the apprentice doesn't suffice, i liked the open Gym challenge for the 8th spot, if a gym leader steps down then the apprentice should enter the open gym challenge to win the spot fairly >.< Plus if the apprentice has been learning to ropes on the type they are apprenticing then they should be able to go through the open challenge well if they learned well enough 3nodding
