He paused before answering. "Picked... would be a good word for it." he nodded. "I think some might argue 'pressed'" he said recalling the old tendencies of being pressed into service. "Some of us more... enthusiastically than others." he said with carful deliberation on the word.
"I only knew what I read in the paper as far as senshi were concerned... Scheelite was my first encounter with the negaverse..." He said and stopped himself from speaking further.
"Yourself? I'm afraid we... really aren't told other than "Fight them, their against us."

"I'd say picked would be a bad word. Forced, might be more appropriate. I was given little choice on the matter." It made tactical sense to keep the foot soldiers of your organization dumb to what was really going on. It made Perseus want to know even more. "My first encounter with senshi oddly enough included a lot of rainbows. And another lieutenant, though I never heard her name." She shrugged. I had been a crazy night, and Perseus still wondered sometimes if she didn't just dream it up.

"Rainbows..." he repeated with a small laugh.
"... Well, thats... that is different." He admitted trying to imagine how that could be even -remotely- dangerous.
He found a bench and brushed it off and then offered for her to sit. A strange night indeed but he'd learned more than he knew before... she too he thought but so far he felt the trade off was balanced.
"I haven't run into many senshi... just one who... blinded me and everyone else in a localized area,... no there was another time.. she threw needles. It was very strange."
"Hmm..." he mused and shook his head.
"I wonder if I should be bothered how similar our 'sides' are when you strip away the politics... well, in some ways but not others. I have yet to see you senshi ordered to fetch any star seeds but ours."

"Seems like the senshi are gifted with a rather wide variety of powers." And those powers sounded infinitely cooler then hers. She sighed internally. Oh well, make the best with what you've got. She took the offered seat, leaning against the back of the bench. She crossed her legs as well, more out of habit than necessity. Perseus was thankful for the tights, at least. It made modesty a little easier. The girl looked a little appalled at being ordered to fetch star seeds. "I was never told to kill anyone... are you ordered to kill senshi? I mean, the ...person who awakened me told me that the negaverse was evil. But beyond that...nothing was said about using deadly force." It sent a chill down her spine. She was glad she hadn't slipped the word 'cat' though. Perseus wasn't sure that Zinkenite knew about the guardian cats, and if he didn't, she wouldn't be the one to mention it. It was a question that made her think, and the look was apparent on her face. Could she kill another human being? Sailor Perseus wasn't sure she could answer that question. Monsters were one thing, outright murdering the boy next to her was another entirely. It was almost unthinkable.

He flinched... ouch, too much said.
"Depends... I think I'm actually more under orders to 'run'... obvious reasons, But I think if they knew I was sitting here an order would be made." He glanced away with a small sigh.
He rubbed at his eyes looking very tired all the sudden. Truthfully he half blamed lack of sleep for the sudden feeling of being 'dull witted' but there was still value to be gained from the conversation, and it was far from unpleasant, well, it was safe unless scheelite saw them he rather thought. Fortunately he was out on his own.
"..." he studied her face...the look he knew well, he'd worn it too.
"If someone was threatening someone you cared about, I think you could." he said carefully.
"It does make a difference."

The senshi sitting next to him looked frightened. Not frightened of the lieutenant next to her, but just frightened in general. They would order to kill her, just like that? Without any provocation or reason, other than she was a senshi and they were the negaverse. It was a hard thing to swallow, for a girl who lived in the careful world of international relations. No one did things outright. She didn't have much of a doubt that she could protect someone if the situation arose. But to fight and kill a human was still a difficult concept. She looked at him, her silver blue eyes both large and lost looking. "But is it worth it? This whole thing...is it worth it." She looked down at the ground. She debated internally of the merit of locking her henshin pen away in a safe somewhere, just ignoring her calling as a scout. There was no way she could do it though. At this point, she had just enough experience to know she was terrible at everything. As a human, she'd already begun training and self defense classes. As a sailor, she was beginning to explore the cities less than stellar night life. Perseus had already committed herself to getting better at it, and it was something that she wouldn't allow herself to stay away from. The consequences though, seemed more real now than they ever had before. The sailor didn't cry, but merely slumped forward a bit to rest her head in her hands. "I've been around the world several times; I'm just realizing now, back at home, that there is so much more to it than I'd ever expected."

"I..." he blinked at her reaction, it was so... real, so honest.
"I don't know..." He admitted. He had no idea, and that was the god honest truth.
"Theirs no way to know... maybe only those who come generations from now can say, but what they say and think will be... determined I think by whomever wins. That's the real reason good triumphs over evil. 'Good' equates to the people who write the history books."
He fished into his pocket and pulled out a few smoke pellets and offered them to her palm up.
"Here... maybe it will help ensure, that we'll both have a 'next' meeting."
Scheelite would have his hide if he knew... or hers, he wasn't sure.

She looked up at him during his explanation, and found it fairly comforting. "I've heard that. History is told through the eyes of the winner. I think that was it." She sat up again, wondering what he was doing fishing through his pockets. At his offering of smoke pellets, she smiled and let out a small laugh. "These things have already been rather helpful. You really shouldn't leave them in your sleeve cuffs, you know." She couldn't have been the only senshi with pickpocketing skills. Nevertheless, the senshi gingerly took them from his hands, looking at them closer. It reminded her to buy more of them at some point. "But thank you." She meant it. Not really having anywhere else to stick them, she put them under the top of her gloves. The gloves where fairly tight on her, and she was content that they would stay in place. She wondered if they would stay with her uniform when whisked away. It seemed like something she would have to experiment with at home.

"How did..." He said shaking his head in wonder.
"I am still astounded that you got it -out- without my notice. I put it there so I could shake it -out- if I needed to, and the next thing I knew YOU had it." He shook his head again.
"Not that they seem to be much safer in my pockets, someone snapped a few while they were in there, what a disaster." he said trailing off to an irritated scowl at the recollection of being a walking smoke trail till he could sort out which ones had been benching their contents.
"You might try the tops of your boots, their looser than mine and should be more forgiving then your gloves, plus people won't be as likely to grab you there and set them off..."
Why was he helping her? Well... at least he'd know where they were, or have some idea.
She didn't exactly have -pockets- so unless she wanted to toss them down her bodice...

"Its really quite simple, actually." She moved the pellets, as suggested to the top of her boot. they fit quite well in the top part, and the stretchy loop that kept them in place worked as a barrier so they didn't fall down any further. It was a better place than her gloves. She laughed and tossed him a devious smile. "Its all the way you look at things, you know? Then again, sometimes boys aren't the best at seeing the obvious." She reached over to poke him for emphasis on the word boy, her hand deftly moving lower to poke him again, before finally slipping into his pocket. She grabbed at whatever was inside. It was small, but not as small as a smoke pellet was. She withdrew her hand, concealing the little object, and still grinning at the boy next to her. She transferred it to her other hand quickly, and then held it up just out of his reach. She opened the palm of her hand, taking a look at what she had managed to slip out of his pocket. It was a cute little toy panda bear! Her face lit up, and her smile was a lot less devious. "You have a little panda bear with you?" Perseus let out a little giggle. It was the cutest thing that she had never expected to be in a negaversers pocket.

His eyes widened, and then his jaw dropped, he went ghostly and then turned scarlet all in a matter of moments.
"Thats M... I mean... it just happens to be... How did you..."
He said failing to assemble a complete sentence as "Tenebrous Jr." appeared in her hand.
"...theirs nothing wrong with pandas... " He flustered starting to reach for it and then pulling his hand back, starting again and then clasping his hands together as though trying to prove it were COMPLETELY superfluous happenstance that it was in his pocket ANYHOW.

Oh man, if she had been expecting a reaction, that was certainly not it. Anger, she would have understood completely, but blushing and being flustered? That was much, MUCH cuter. She looked closer at the little panda bear on the keychain. It was a cute little thing, but then again panda's were naturally cute. "Nope, theres absolutely nothing wrong with panda's at all. This ones cute, even." The sailor grinned again, much more deviously than before. She sat back on the bench, eyeing him coolly. "Now, based on your reaction, I'm going to guess that there is a reason you had him in your pocket, yes?" She played with the little bear, absentmindedly. Gently, of course. She didn't want to break it, after all. But it didn't stop her from making it 'run' up his arm and onto his shoulder.

"...no... no reason... it.. came with the uniform." He said sitting -very- very still as the little panda was 'run' up his arm. The blush remained but he looked rather like a tin soldier.
He hazarded a glance at her and then stared ahead with determination NOT to look at the panda... nope. Not at all... period...
nope...
Not looking.
NOOooo interest at all.

She held back her laugh. It was an amused smirk now, as she knew he was lying. Maybe it had actually come with the uniform, but that didn't mean he hadn't formed a rather strong attachment to it regardless. The panda bear nudged Zinkenite's ear, before dancing around on his shoulder. It was getting hard for Perseus to not laugh. "Well, I think its charming." The panda bear left his shoulder, and returned to Perseus's lap. "But if it really only just came with the uniform, you wouldn't mind if I borrowed it, would you?" It was a bit ridiculous. She didn't really need a little toy panda bear for anything in particular, but she wanted too see how long he would keep up this charade. Perseus was smiling sweetly, eyes laughing.

"NO!... I mean... uh... Well Scheelite would uh... if he turned up missing. I mean it... It.. not a he, it." He said reaching for it again and drawing back because it was on her lap.
"Scheelite would be... very, upset, you know... I mean, I'd hate to see him... you know, with some kind of grudge because he saw you with the panda from my uniform."
He cleared his throat.. "...or something."
Why...WHY was he such a bad liar when pandas were involved? It was like a 'condition' that he couldn't find a work around for.
"...It's Tenebrous Junior... and it really did come with the uniform." He mumbled.
