Nadia_Zebra I play clarinet but I'm going to march tuba next year ^^ i'm so excited!! I'll be the only girl in Low Brass =D koolnezz i already play tuba and im gonna do concert and marching band nxt year and im the only girl in low-brass at my school whee

I've never played a small instrument in my life.
But my band pisses me off because they're all about the trombones in concert, jazz, and marching band. They always ignore us tubas. Especially the only girl tuba player... Piss me off so much!!
Just because I don't play a 'female' instrument doesn't mean I'm not a ******** girl. I hate getting discriminated against so much! But ********. Cause even though I play tuba, I can outplay all the trombones in skill and noise. And when I play my baritone, everyone in the brass COWERS. MUAHA!

biggrin Since marching season is starting, we met all of our new freshmen and it's prett cool!
Out of our tuba section of 4, 3 are girls, but the only guy is pretty feminine so I consider him a chick too.
Our trombone section, all the freshmen except one person are all female. Surprised me, because one of the girls wanted to try trumpet, but switched to trombone.
But our baritone section is still all guys : Oh well, can't do anything about that. We have like 8 of them though ~_ ~
It seems saxophone is more popular for the guys in my school C:

X-Band Rocks-X Now people still think that girls should be Flutes or Clarinets but I disagree. I'm a Baritone/Tuba. If you are another girl that plays in low brass post and show you are just as good as boy are in low brass! LET'S TAKE A STAND AND SHOW WE CAN PLAY IN BRASS!!! I LUV THE WAY U THINK I REALLY DO I PLAY TUBA IN MY LOW BRASS SECTION AND IM REALLY GOOD AT IT!!! heart heart heart heart

We're a band of about 170.
Out of our 4 tuba/sousaphones, three are female, including me (and the guy is a total flake who never shows up for anything.)
We also have a girl baritone player.

Well I'm the only, and I mean ONLY baritone in my school's marching band and ensemble. Half the people at my school have no idea what a baritone is! I hate having to explain to them.

I don't play low brass (not that I haven't tried, but I fail) but I totally agree. I play bass clarinet, and I'm the only girl in my entire low brass/low woodwind section D:
