((uh-oh. What's Ellie got planned? xd )) Tyler kissed her goodbye. "Alright. See you this afternoon." He slung the weapon and walked out toward the main gate. He heard the rhythmic rattling of automatic weaponry echoing dully from up in the guard towers. He radioed the guards and asked what the trouble was. "Nothing major. Just a few scattered ghouls wandering too close to the walls. We'll let you know when it's safe for the hunters to leave," the guard replied over the gunshots and the crackle of static. As he neared the gate, he saw Ryan waiting, weapons in hand. Tyler raised a hand in greeting.

After making it to the gate and not seeing Tyler there, he let out a sigh of relief. Now just to play it off as if he weren't up so late. Waving as Tyler came into view, he pulled a bottle off water from his backpack. "About time you showed up! I've been here for days! Water?" He offered Tyler the bottle.

((I'll post more tomorrow, gotta leave to go back to my mother's house. No internet thar...))
Nicole glanced behind her to see Troy there and blushing. "Ah, nah it's okay. I'ma just gettin' mah food." She didn't bother with using correct speech, it was too early for that. She yawned and picked up one of the plates with food on it, a little glad that Troy couldn't see her pinkish face. "Agh, I'm still tired. I need to stop reading late at night."
Russ decided that he'd sat in the chair for long enough. Getting up, he went over and pulled on his duster coat he still had. It fight him nicely still, a good thing to have this far up north. He went out of his room and outside, not really hungry yet and wanting to get some fresh, crisp air.
When Stryker glanced back up, putting in one of the ear buds, the Brute was still staring at him. "Well?" He asked him. "You have a reason for being there?" The Brute shrugged and spoke. "'Was wondering about when we're going to do somethin'." Stryker shrugged back at him and repsonded in an annoyed tone of voice. "How about you and some others go off somewhere? Damn, I can't plan everything here."

((Okey-doke. See you later! Well, not see you...you get the idea. lol)) "Thanks." Tyler took a swig and capped it. A few minutes later, James and Daniel arrived, weapons slung. "Well, that's four. Shall we go?"

"Sounds good to me." Putting his backpack back onto his back, he was almost ready to go. Loading his shoulder holstered pistols, and his rifle, he was ready for anything. Well, as long as it wasn't a laser shooting bear cannon...but those were pretty rare, so yeah, anything. "Let's go guys. Gotta lot of ground to cover today."

Troy shrugged and said to Nicole, "Yeah, I'm kinda that way, too. Doing stuff late at night, I mean. Why don't you have a seat somewhere? I'll get us some coffee."

((It involves Troy's reaction last page razz )) Kissing him back, Ellie soon got out of bed and got dressed in a thin long-sleeved shirt, a turtleneck, and a thick pair of pants. Slipping on a pair of boots after putting her socks on, she went over to Aivi's room and knocked. "Come on, sweetie. Breakfast time." Almost instantly, she heard movement in the room as her daughter got dressed. Chuckling a bit at this, she waited patiently outside the door till she came out in warm clothes. Taking the girl's hand, they walked down to the mess hall.

((ooooh. I think i know what you're planning. mrgreen ))"Be vewy, vewy quiet. I'm hunting caribou. Uh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh," Tyler said under his breath, as he sighted down the hunting range. A few of the timid creatures wandered out into the snow-covered ground. The wind picked up, but continued to blow away from the hunters, and the caribou were not able to pick up their scent. "We'd better get moving pretty quickly. We might get caught in the snow, if we take to long. Have you got that one?" Tyler said to Ryan, indicating an animal that had stopped to poke about the ground, in search of some greens.

((I'm still 100% clueless.))
Ryan aimed at the beast as it stopped to smell for food under the snow. "Got him?" Ryan squeezed the trigger, and the thunderous report of his rifle could be heard for miles. It was all too late for the game animal though. Ryan had it it right in the vital area, blowing away any chance of life, along with most of it's organs. "Yeah, I got him." Cycling the bolt, he caught the shell that was ejected, so he could reload it. No sense in waste. "Alright, now that my loud gun has scared off any other game around here, we might had better go get that one and head back. He should taste pretty fine compared to the endless supply of canned peas, Haha."

"Right." Tyler and the others sneaked down into the clearing to field-dress the animal, and drag it back. They were met with a wide, hulking shape, standing between them and the caribou. It breathed heavily, but did not speak, though it appeared to be human. "Hello?" Tyler called to the form.

Ryan leaned in close to Tyler. "Oh gosh, is that a laser on it's back?", Ryan jokingly whispered.

"No," Tyler muttered solemnly. It was a Brute class Malice soldier, left over from the start of the war, still wearing his fatigues. The massive creature smiled cruelly. "Wanna play, boys?" he rumbled. Tyler raised the SAW and opened fire. The slugs penetrated his skin with several puck sounds, and blood began to dribble out, but the creature was mostly unfazed. He roared like an animal and raised his big, meaty fists, and brought them down on the group. They scattered as the monster made large imprints in the ground. "Well, don't look at me! Aim for the head!" Tyler shouted over the howling wind.

Drawing across his chest, he pulled his glock from the holster and pulled back on the top slide. "I sure hope those gaurds can see us way out here!" Running and shooting carefully, trying to aim for the large head, Ryan knew he was going to be screwed if he ran out of ammo in his glock. He hadn't bothered to load any extra ammo for it in his bag since he only needed a rifle for big game, and zombies only required a few good bashes from his 4" combination wrench.

Tyler pulled out his radio, and shouted into it over the wind. "This is Elmer Fudd to Guard Tower 1! Be advised, we've encountered a hostile! We're about 4 miles due east of PL Gate, as the crow flies! Keep an eye out for more, we're trying to get away! We--!" Tyler was cut off mid-message as the beast swiped at him with a quick backhand. He grunted at the impact and sailed across the clearing, landing in a deep cushion of snow. The radio skittered across the ice of a nearby pond, out of reach. Tyler tried to stay calm and dig himself out of the snowpile, to go to the aid of the other hunters.

James watched as Tyler was thrown by the huge brute, pulling out the battered Glock, setting it to single shot to save ammo. Shooting for it's head, he struck it twice in the chest, the rounds going in, but doing nothing to slow the brute. "You ok Tyler?" He called out, trying to keep distance between himself and the monster.
