Derecho spared one last glance for Tier as he lay on the ground and then obliged the feathered wolf her request, if only to get away from the mewling male - which he noted with some disgust hadn't done much for his gender to be proud of - if all the males in Penthesilea's pack behaved like him he almost couldn't blame them for the way they treated them.
"I never tried to hide it" Derecho remarked as he sat down as well "Thealia's pups did not paint a good impression" He agreed "Even now they are far from normal pups..I fear they shall always be a bit...off" He stated with a slight sigh "It may have been a bad impression, but it is my opinion that if you wish to see the true nature of a pack then do not look at the highest of them...but the lowest of which I'm sure Thealia's pups were a good example. If you do not agree with this wolfs methods then shouldn't you as Alpha do something to stop it? Terreis says you are wise and fair but I think you are too confined by tradition to be truly fair" He admitted - sure his remarks might anger her but no one could fault Derecho for not being an honest wolf. He said what he meant and he didn't sugar coat the way he said it.
That of course didn't explain exactly why he didn't trust her and so he continued "I fear that Terrei is similarly tradition oriented and it has been brought to my attention that she may wish to take our daughters North - I do not mind that they may become strong wolves capable of taking care of themselves...but I do mind that they may become biased towards their brothers - towards me. You might think me lesser because I was born a male - but like you I wish for nothing but the best for my pack"

Penthesilea sat quietly as Derecho spoke. He did have some good points in regards to what he said and she couldn't disagree that Thealia's actions did reflect badly on the pack. "Our traditions have been there since the pack was first created many generations ago. They are of great importance to the pack, and while I do see your point in regards to them it would be quite an undertaking to change them. I will however take your words under consideration, some changes do need to be made within my pack."
When he spoke of his concerns regarding his pups she could now see why he seemed so upset at her presence. "I understand your concerns, but I do believe that Terreis would not so willingly send her pups away to be raised or trained in our ways. She is loyal to me and Antianeira that is certain, but she lives here now and it is here where her pups should be raised. Though I must insist that Iosef is allowed to see them, Terreis is the only family he has left so seeing her pups would bring him a good deal of joy."

Studying the other wolf for a few moments Derecho had to admit she seemed to be truthful enough and he gave a brief nod at the comments - he supposed only time would tell if she was right or not - though not much time if her earlier comments meant anything. "We don't make it a habit to keep family from seeing one another" He told her "And I know Terreis is fond of her brother" He concluded before standing.
"Shall I take you to see Bracken and Lichen now?" He asked her.

Penthesilea nodded. "Good, I will see to it that Iosef is allowed time to come and visit after the pups are born." Standing as well she was glad to have at least have a short time to speak with Derecho, he may not still trust her but they could at least be civil to one another. "Yes, I should like to see them now." She replied as he began to lead her back to the dens, hopefully they would have warmed up to Glacier by now.
