Moves along the riverside, her tail swishing more as she looks to Ami. "Oh, well some call me Mel, so you can call me that is you wish." She smiles thinking of her brother for a moment, how she missed him, but it had been a while since they last spoke.
Hooves slips slightly, almost sending her into the water but she catches herself and moves slowly further away from the edge, her auds laying back. "So, you have a nickname?" She asked softly, it seemed that she was use to nearly falling, she had been traveling for a long time as it was.

Amitola took in a sharp breath when the Mel almost fell in the river, and moved to try to help her - which could ultimately be a very stupid move; the mare was much bigger than she. "So, Mel... Uh, you could kind of swim, right? If you fell in?"
Ami's ears perked up when she heard Mel's quiet question. "Oh, sure. You can call me Ami or Tola - whatever works, though I really like Ami." She was silent for a moment, just letting the water sounds talk to her. Then she decided that if she was going to travel with Mel, she might as well get to know her better.
"So, do you have any siblings?" Ami asked carefully, trying not to startle Mel, who seemed almost as if she was afraid of talking, she was so quiet.

She nods and laughs. "I can swim, but if I fall wrong I could hurt something. Seems the ground is a bit to wet to walk close to the river." She moves her auds, her hooves moving with more of a couscous step, knowing that there would be mud as is, and it could some times be hard to walk, and may slow her down.
She then perks her auds to the next question and looks over. "Yeah, I have a brother, and have heard here and there I may have two, though I have never met the other." She smiles lightly. "What about you, do you have any siblings, or was it just you and your parents?"

Ami turns back to the river, contemplating it. "That's good," she says at last, looking back at Mel. "'Cause I wouldn't be able to do anything if you fell in." A rivulet breaks over her head and she sneezes when she comes out of the tiny wall of water.
Shaking her head a bit as she tries to get some water out of her ear, Ami nods a little. "That's odd. You aren't sure if you have another brother? I would think you would at least know... Hm. That's too bad. I hope you find out soon," she says, sending a smile in Mel's direction.
Ami's green-lidded eyes close for a moment as she thinks of what her family used to be. She sighs and opens her eyes. "I have a brother named Mwyth. He's a little older than I am... He was really rebellious when we were little. He left, and... Well, I don't know where he is. It was mostly just my parents and me after that." Finding the memory a little bittersweet, she keeps talking, relishing the chance to finally tell someone. "The last time we - or at least, the last time I - saw him was at the beach. He didn't like the new ocean house, and decided he was leaving. He, uh... He went out into the ocean and never came back, as far as I know."
She looked up at Mel, silently hoping for some sympathy. She'd never told anyone her about her family before, and hoped Mel would give her what she needed - the restoration of the hope that her brother might still be found.

Those auds laying back as the other spoke, those eyes glancing over. She had come to terms of what happened to her parents. All she knew was that she grew up alone, just her brother at her side, she was feeling the same way lately since that evil fea had taken her brother as her mate. "I am sorry for all that, but I am sure he has just moves to another river, maybe even feel in love and has a family. Just got to hope one day he will be back." She lowers her eyes to the ground.
The thoughts of what her brother was becoming was waring hard on her heart. He was all the family she had left. Though she heard that there might of been another brother, but there were high chances that her brother was dead. She shakes her head, trying to get her mind out of this. A smile moving back over her lips. She was waiting before explaining her brother, and how she is not sure. "Well, I was just out of the basket, if not just a bit older when my parents were killed. I don't remember any of it, and nothing before it, my memories are just stories that my brother has told me. All I remeber is growing up with him."

Amitola cast a grateful look at Armelle as she swam along. "I hope he comes back. Because when he does, he's going to get a good pounding." She wiggled her tail above the water playfully. "He left way too soon."
"I'm sorry about your parents, Mel, but at least your brother stepped up and raised you. That was really good of him. I'd like to meet him someday, I think." She smiled up at Armelle. "He sounds like he's a really cool guy."
Ami was quiet after that, just floating along. But a couple seconds later, she could have sworn she'd smelled brine. "Do you think we're getting close?" she asked excitedly.

Gave a flicker of her ears about her brother and looks to Ami "Well, I have not seen him since when he went to his new mate, and i have a very bad feeling about her." She closed her eyes, her tail swishing some before she takes in the silence. The loos of everything was heavy on her mind, but she was still strong, and always tried to do the right thing.
A smile on her lips as she looks to the small equine. "It will take a few days, though when night falls it is best to rest, though a full trip would only take a smidgen over a day and a half." As the day grew on the sun was starting top curve into the west, and starting to sink into the horizon, her auds flicked, the land around then grew silent, almost a scary silent, her eyes glancing over the land, her auds never stopped moving.
The last time the land was this quiet she was attacked, but that was in the mountains, she could only hope there was noting around here, for the mountains were a good ways behind them. "So, do they live at the edge of the river?" She asked, just trying to stay calm, and to keep the other from becoming afraid. "I bet their home is lovely, more so when that sun sets out there over the water."

"Well, I hope he's okay..." Ami said, trailing off. There was not much more to say. She nodded when Melle informed her of how long it would take.
And then the birds were quiet, and the river came to a scary kind of stand-still. Ami continued with Armelle's conversation to keep herself calm. "No, they live a ways out into the reef..." She cast a glance behind her and her eyes widened to the size of small sand dollars. "Oh, great waters..." she whispered, "Melle, look behind us..."
A massive wall of storm clouds darkened the skies behind them. Lightning flashed inside of them, creating lighter spots. "What are we gonna do?"

Head turns head as Ami speaks, her auds dropping as she looks around them. "We need to get out of the storm, something that dark can bring grate trouble." That gaze looking to Ami. "If I remember there is a cave around here somewhere, it has a back way that comes though a small hole in the river, though I do not know how small, I never got close enough, I hope that you could fit." She tries to go over when she was here last, though it was a long time ago, not since before her friend died.
"Umm, I think the entrance is around the bend in the water, but i will have to head into the forest some to find the larger opening." She said lightly, her tail flicking in an unsteady motion, that slight since of fear in her eyes. I will wait until we make sure you can get in."

Ami nodded. "Okay, so... I'll just go try to find that now, shall I?" Without another word, she dove head first back into the water, looking for a dark hole in the bank. The current churned restlessly around her.
Finding the entrance proved harder than she would've thought - it was indeed tiny, and had been partially filled by sediment. She popped back above the surface. "I found it," she called to Mel. "You can go on - I just need to clear it out some."

whinnies and nods before heading around. The wind was heavy, and as the rain fell it was hard to see and to walk. Those long legs carried her into the entrance of the cave finally, and a good shaking of her coat was in order. She looked around for a moment, noting that the main path back to the water was now caved in, though there was still one of the smaller paths open.
That large frame squeezes in, almost getting her hips stuck. She looked to them and pulled a bit harder before they slip though the moist walls of the entrance. In complete darkness she seemed to wonder around for an hour if not more, and it was nearly two hours before she found her way into the back. There was a small hole in the top of the cave, enough to let in the light where it once came from the entrance. "Looks like this place has chanced." She said in a light whisper.

Ami went back under, and after a bit of wiggling, she popped into the main underwater tunnel. Her sensitive fins fanned out and kept her from knocking into too many walls. Eventually, she saw a dim point of light shining in what she'd previously thought was the ceiling above her.
Cautiously swimming up, Amitola bobbed up into close, open air. "Armelle?" she whispered, trying not to be afraid. Darkness wasn't really her happy place.

She looked to the water the best she could, what little did come in was not enough to make out more than maybe an outline. "Its me." The lightning would flash and light up the hole enough to give a glance at her form as she walked to the water. She had a light drink before settling down near the edge to give some company to the female and to stay away from the dripping hole. She was just hoping this place was not going to flood out.

Taking a deep breath of relief, Ami laid the side of her head against the edge of the hole in the floor, then sighed. This journey seemed to be getting more complicated by the minute. "How long do you think this storm will last?" she asked, but there were really so many more questions floating in her head - Will we make it to the sea? How long will the journey be? Will we come back together? Will we make it through the night?
Closing her eyes, she tried not to drift off to sleep as she waited for Mel's reply. It had been a long day, and she was far more tired and hungry than she'd ever been before. She wanted food, and sleep, and her family...
