Zao perked up, a bright smile on his face and disbelief in his eyes. "Really? You'd travel with me?" Kucha would be the first creature who cared enough to do that! "And yes, yes I can hunt! I may be no good at fighting, but I have to keep my belly filled!" He had a traveling companion! Oh this was exciting beyond belief!

The darker lion sighed in relief. "Good. Because hunting for two would be a pain." But he'd still have done it. Zao was like a big cub! "Come on...let's go get some water. There's a spring not far from here." He started in the direction of the water, looking for all the world like a big brother who'd gotten saddled with his too-cheerful baby brother.

Zao cheerfully followed Kucha, tail swinging behind him happily and a purr coming from his throat. While Kucha looked like the gloomy older brother, Zao fit the picture of the perky baby brother to a tee. Well...except for their different coloring and markings and the fact Zao was obviously full grown.
