Her eyes were closed, but she could hear every movement in the surrounding, the sound of splashing water, the rustle of the leaves. She didn't know why her eyes were closed, even if her eyes were open, she couldn't see anything because of the dark, but she felt too weak to open her eyes and walk away. She hated black, she made a big mistake when she decided to join the Darkness. She fought for it, but the result was not what she had expected.
-sigh- 'time to wake up' she whispered to herself as she opened her eyes and tried to get up. Her dress was all wet, muddy and smelly.

Thanatos Excalus

Even though the wound that can’t be healed only eats away at my heart.....

Thanatos twirled his glaive, stepping forwards and sideways swiftly, almost like a dance as he hacked away at the sapling dummies around him. A black blindfold was tied around his eyes, avoiding his ears and tied behind the back of his head, just underneath silvery blue locks of hair that had grown as long as his shoulders. The fingers that held onto the glaive were swift and nimble, able to change direction of the glaive at a second's notice.

A young boy struck forwards with his glaive, but the dark form was faster, swatting the glaive's blade away and clawing at him. The boy ducked, swiping the form's feet, but missed. It jumped and pinned him to the ground. All that was between then was the handle of Thanatos's glaive, and that wasn't going to hold for long. He spat blood onto the dark form's face and recieved a slash to his eyes. The darkened world grew even darker and the form leaped off him, disappearing into the unknown. Thanatos's face felt warm, life giving liquid seeping away through the gash running through his eyes. His fingers reached up to push him into a sitting position. This was....The price of fighting the Dark One.....

In frustration, Thanatos grew aggressive, thrusting his glaive at another sapling so hard it spilt in two and fell to the ground with a resounding thud. "Calla uin daesc." He spat and sunk the blade of his glaive into the ground forcefully. His ears twitched as they recieved new sounds. Someone else.....In the nearby river. He quickly pulled up his glaive and held it in an defensive stance. Even though it was soft, quiet, barely noticable, Thanatos was quick to notice it. "Who's there? Show yourself." Ha. Brilliant. Show yourself to a blind person.

She was suprised that she wasn't alone by the river. Who was he? and how did he hear me? Ebryn walked quickly to the low-hanging branches of a willow. The branches covered her when she walked towards the stranger. She was always very cautious when a random stranger showed up. She was now at a distance of 20ft from the stranger. Ebryn could now see his appearance very clearly, and she saw that he held a glaive to defent himself. Ebryn's common sense told her to run away from this... strange-looking creature, she was too curious to run away. Hopefully he's not going to use that glaive she thought. 'what do you want from me?' she said very calmly as she still hid herself between the branches.

Lalita snorted. "What do you mean you won't sell me these beans?!"
The owner of the little stand at the far end of the village gave her a weary look. "We don't sell to outsiders," was his quick response.
Lalita growled. She needed the rare type of bean for a spell she had been trying to test. "Oh come on! I am NOT here to hurt you or the village!"
The man turned away. "No."
Lalita glared at him. She would have the beans one way or other, even if she had to trick him to get them.
"Akukun zulania yarello" She said and made an odd movement with her hands. "May I have them now?"
The shop keeper nodded. "Take them, they are yours."
She nodded at him. "Akukun hunnu"
The shop keeper gave her another weary look. "Thank you." She said and walked off.
The shop keeper looked confused and watched her go. He looked down and saw the beans were gone. "Wait! Thief!"
Lalita smiled. "Aselia zuru" and she was gone. The shop keeper watched the spot she had just been in in confusion.

Jenneth closed her eyes and sighed. She finally stepped forward into the more muddy riverwaters, letting the cool, crisp water run over her bare feet. The sensation was comforting. It reminded her of the old world, where the streams trickled quietly, soaking in the sunlight on a hot summer's day. Jenneth Kirtch sighed again in disgust and dismissed the memories, lest they soften her will. She was determined to withhold the only memory that would really strengthen her goal. The night of her mother's murder.

I wonder if the Dark One kept his gloves, maybe he'd remember that he has more than just ruling the world to worry about... Jen pondered with a subtle smile as she fetched her staff elaborately carved with the symbols of her own village, which now lay in ruins. That was the price to pay for defiance. Total annihalation.

She traced the old, battleworn wood, handmade by herself as she taught herself defence, and the ways of the warrior. For a second, she halted, her mind somewhere else.

The life of a warrior is a lonely one, she found herself thinking, just you, your weapons, and the spirits of your ancestors. Jenneth had found herself a more superstitious character than when she was little, now that she had nothing -no one- to lean on. She had grown into believing in the ancient ancestors of her village, the warriors of the plains. It occurred to her that she was blessed and cursed with this Vow she herself had bestowed on herself. She needn't have the rites of the sorceress that had lived in the villiage at that time to bind herself to the sacred Vow, "Calla uin daesc", it had only her own mouth to say it. Jen paused again.

Maybe mother was right... Maybe I do have some sort of power... She dismissed the thought as she plucked her travelworn boots from the riverbank and shoved her feet into them. She stretched and drew a small hunting knife, carving the symbol of the Vow into the brownish-black bark of the tree. A warning.

"Death to you, Dark One. Murderer..."

Juan got bored in his little tree and decided to fly off. He took to the skies and looked around in the forest below. In a world like this, you really shouldn't be able to see anything, but a slave of the Dark One granted him a special sight that could help him see in the dark. He could see just as well as it was daylight. He looked around to see an familiar looking angel talking to a girl. They both had measures of Darkness in them so he decided to leave them alone. He moved on to a small bubbling river and heard splashing. He looked down to see a woman crossing. She had not one ounce of Darkness in her at all. Then he saw an elf headed her way. But it looked like she had no idea that he was there. It was time to have some fun.
Allora heard the soft splashing of water on land. Then she heard someone splashing through. She came out into the open and saw a river. It wasn't deep, but it really wasn't good for drinking. She saw a person crossing about 100 feet away. She wasn't sure if she could trust her and stepped back into the woods. She looked up to the sky because she heard the flapping of wings, but couldn't see enough to know if it was her imangnation or not.

Thanatos Escalus

Even though the wound that can’t be healed only eats away at my heart.....

Thanatos felt the darkness in her and tensed, but lowered his glaive. She was no threat to him. Not unless she attacked first. Which probably wasn't a good idea since he was the one holding a weapon. She probably did too, but he would take his chances. He held it next to him, and turned to face her, or at least, the direction he knew she was in. "I could be asking you the same thing." He said icily. Suddenly he turned his head to the side, tensed again. Splashing.....A person was crossing the river. The flapping of wings that seemed to heavy for a normal bird's, even an eagle's, went overhead. Thanatos tilted his head up, but the sound of wings was fading. Without a word to the girl he turned and made his way into the direction of the splashing, able to avoid the low hanging branches and break into a run.

Ebryn didn't get a chance to anwser. Suddenly strange sounds filled the black air, splashing water, the flapping of wings. The strange creature who was talking to her, seemed to notice the sounds too. He went away to look what was happening by the river. Ebryn knew that the boy belonged to the light, but strangely enough she felt that she could trust him. She saw the creature running into the direction of the sounds and she started following him. She wanted to see what was going on there. Hopefully she didn't get in trouble. Since she was separated from her mother, the only weapon she owned was a long but sharp wooden stick. She would never be able to kill someone, but maybe a few nasty scratches would be enough to defent herself. She ran after the him and tried to avoid the branches too, but it wasn't that easy. The branches hit her and left scratches all over her body. After a while she stopped to take a rest and looked around her. She couldn't see the boy anymore, but there was a blonde woman standing between the trees. Another member of the Light, this could be interesting!

Thanatos stopped near the river bank. He had heard the girl following him, but she had relied on her sight. The branches had slowed her down and he lost her back in the trees. He felt a woman also on the riverbank, of the Light, carving into the tree, but she was the least of his worries. The dark aura......The flapping of wings had ceased and he looked around for the source, hoping that the forest noise would help him locate it, but.....Nothing.

Jenneth Quickly finished her carving and pulled off her boots again. She might as well cross the shallow river and hide her initial tracks. As she began crossing, she halted and looked around her. She saw nothing but the dank, fogginess of the river, but she was certain she had heard wings, or something to that matter. Then she saw a glimpse of golden hair across the river. Elf. She turned her head and twisted herself so that she could see the other thing that was making little, but some noise. A boy with silvery blue hair. Jen had a little difficulty seeing him, her left eye making the image slightly fuzzy, but she sensed that these two weren't what she had begun worrying about. The wing sounds, the massive movements of air, faint, but they had been there.

She took another step forward and braced herself against the stronger current. Her midnight black leggings were clinging to her skin, and the edge of her tunic wrapped around her waist as well. Clenching her teeth as the freezing water tumbled down the slight decline behind her, Jen held her staff above the water as she ploughed through. Her bare feet, now somewhat numb with the cold, slipped on a rock, but she righted herself before crashing into the murky waters. She was still in the center of the river, but she halted, leaning into the current. Other than the splashing of the riverwater, there was...silence. Distant thunder rolled faintly and a slight breeze blew Jen's hair away fromher face. Thankfully, though, the storm was going the opposite direction. Thunderstorms were the worst in the new world, turning the skies pitch black, and the winds ripping trees from their roots. Anyone caught in a thunderstorm was sure to be killed one way or another. Jen, however, took another step forward. She had survived a storm once, and if the thunderstorm decided to come her way, she'd find a way to survive again. But now, she was feeling uneasy. Something was up, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Thanatos raised his hand, reading the air. A storm......He wouldn't be able to fly back to shelter for tonight. Hand on the hilt of his sword, he tilted his head. The river.....It was getting more....Violent. It was so subtle, a normal person wouldn't have noticed it. "I'd get out of there now, if I were you." He said to the woman, who had halted in the middle of the river. He let go of his sword, flexing his fingers.

Ebryn was still hiding in the woods. She could see a large part of the river. Another unknown woman was standing in the middle of the river. She was a good looking woman and human, but still one of the Light. Ebryn felt quite uncomfortable being surrounded by the Light. If those people wanted hurt her, she would be hopeless. She knelt down and waited a while as she kept an eye on the woman in the river. The wind blew faintly in her face and she heard a sound of thunder up in the air. Hopefully the thunderstorm was going their direction. Ebryn loved thunderstorms. It gave her a strange and exciting feeling. Especially in this situation the thunderstorm could be a very good companion.

Jenneth blinked. She considered the blurry, silvery blue haired boy's advice. Yet, not to seem weak, she shrugged and backtracked. A darker shadow crossed overhead. Glancing up, Jen caught sight of a sillhouette. Unfortunately, it passed within a few seconds. As soon as she reached the shore, she dropped her boots and twisted the center of the staff, where a bronze ring encircled it. The old wood fell into two halves, and shining twin blades were revealed. Jen let the hollow staff fall to the ground with a tiny thud. The placidity of the riverside didn't fool the twenty some year old warrior. The winged...thing felt like a Dark minion of the Dark One.

She twirled her blades with the deftness that comes with years of experience. She closed her eyes and breathed slowly, letting the thrill of battle surge through her veins like a fire. She noted the elf betwixt the trees and the boy somewhere behind her. She turned. Seeing the blindfold, she blinked again, slightly surprised. Something nagged at her and she rubbed her left eye, making her flinch with discomfort. With her eyeball scratched by the Dark One's blade ten or so years ago, it was always annoying when she had an itch, and when she needed to see something far away.

Darn this semi-blindness! She twirled her steel swords again, nervously glancing around, wary of the possible adversary of the dark shadow.

"Death to you, Dark One. Murderer..."

OOC: I'm surprised how well this is starting out! xd I'm happy that I didn't make up a stupid roleplay idea.

Thanatos frowned. The woman....She had a scar by the Dark One. Just like him.....He shook his head and quickly readied his glaive, hearing the flapping of wings again, but it passed as soon as he did. The river churned wildly and he tensed, ready to solidify the air around the river to keep it from overflowing and flooding them at second's notice.

Ebryn yawned, she was bored of sitting and hiding. the sound of an approaching person startled her. The unknown woman came out of the river and dropped her boots on the shore. Ebryn could see her very clearly. The woman blinked like she had something painful in her eye. Ebryn could feel her own hear beating like an idiot. she wasn't afraid, just excited. She had never 'met' so many strangers in a single day. The woman was now nervously glacing around. as if she know Ebryn was nearby. OK..Let's have some fun she thought as she tried to climb a tree. The branches were a little wet and the couldn't get a grip on them. She felt down as soon as she tried to lift up her feet from the ground. This was not going to work. Suddenly she caught sight of a small stone on the left side of a large tree. She took it up and found also two other stones. Ebryn held the three stones in her left and threw them away one by one. The stones rushed through the air and passed the woman's head closely. Ebryn giggled.
