KrauseMouse I make hemp jewelry all the time! I actually sell them when I have a chance (See my post about "Coventry" for a heartbreaking story about my hemps...).
The BEST way to make the thick hemp stuff is to get THICK hemp... they sell it in SO many sizes, and they have a nice big, thick one that I use for my more "manly" bracelets and necklaces... Another way that I got some results for thickness is to double up hemp you use for the ENTIRE necklace... That also gives it a neat texture... Especially if you don't pull it all the way tight...
Please PM me if you'd like to see pictures of any of my hemps, or if you'd like any more advice or discussion about hemp jewelry! wink
~Mouse~ Added your tips to the first post. wink

WalkingApocolypse *waits patiently for more information about hemp* Dum de do... I think Ms. Mouse answered your questions about hemp jewelry. I added what she said to the first post, and her original message is on the front page.. I don't know exactly what you want to know though. I've never made hemp stuff before.

wing_goddess i've never tie-dyed, but i wear it all the time. Thats cool. You should try it sometime, though. Then you could make your own designs without having to pay abunch of money for premade ones. wink I thought it was pretty fun though.

For Christmas I got a hemp jewelry kit, and I made a nifty necklace. It came with some cool beads and a peace sign bead, too. xd I still need to make the bracelet though. The main knots I used in the instructions are called "half knot twists" .. and hence the name, they made a cool twisted strand.
