http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13673569In response to my posts on this thread I recieved this PM [Sumire] Excuse me sir,
Sorry to be blunt, but it's my job to say this to you:
"On the road you are walking now, you are heading towards hell." ^^
Hmm. Something inside me told me I was suppose to tell you that.
...I'd probably be pissed too. I'd maybe even block myself.
But you have choices you know...
You could tell me why you think not. You could ask me why I say so. You could ask me anything, really, and I'd answer you as best I could.
I use to be agnostic you know...but there was a certain someone or certain people who come into your life to make it turn the right way. But it's your choice to follow the white rabbit. Either that, or stay behind and have it all have no value in the end.
^^; Sorry to bother. That was a pleasantly underhand way of preaching.

i agree, pleasantly underhanded. chatterbox debates are amusing.
today, i graduated from college and during the commencement, the reverend from our school ministry (i didn't even know we had one!) was introduced to the podium to speak. as he said a prayer, someone in the audience booed. gonk i was in complete disgust - immediately gasping at the boo. i didn't see who did it, but it was such a disrespectful act. i can understand how some people don't like to be forced to observe a religious act that they don't believe in, but i'd rather have the blessing of someone else's god than to incur his/her wrath. heh.

That was actually in ED at the time.
Booing a pastor in a prayer... that's just mean.
That's a part of our image problem I think.
A lot of christians see a lot of young people angry at their parents religion, and assume all atheists are like that. And the rest of us are tarred with the same brush.

i don't like it when generalizations are made like that. i know it's going to happen because that's just how people think, but i try to stop myself from whole-heartedly believing stereotypes of fanatical christians. everyone's different.

i affectionately call my computer, "the craputer."
i'd like to say that i came up with that myself, but i saw it post-itted (not a real word, i know that, but coining new terms is a hot trend nowadays with the kiddies) on my friend's computer monitor. xp

I don't really get flamed much these days, and if I do, I can usually dissolve the anger with a single post. It is too easy to understand why people get angry...

What a champ. I hated having to sit through religious sermons in school. It was most un-fun.
