Taji finished gathering what little supplies they currently had (a small handful of money and a few pieces of fish) and peeked her head out of the cabin just in time to see Ace finish up tying the rope and make his daring leap to shore. ACE! She got a running start and jumped off the boat onto the shore and dropped their items.
Come on now Sailor, you're not dead...yet. She gave him a wink and a slight grin as he got up from the sand. And I'll be damned if you drown in any shallow water before we finish at least go on a few more adventures! Taji swished her tail and hopped over behind Ace to follow him into the town by the water. As they wandered into the town she noticed a large market like area filled with people and merchants selling fish, meat, and other goods. As well as what appeared to be a couple of thugs wandering through the crowd. This town seems pretty busy huh? She looked over to Ace as the walked through the filled streets. So whats your plan here big boy? We're almost out of any money and our food supply is running low. Say, where do these merchants all go off to at night? She asked with a sly face, hinting at her plan.

Ace laughed at Taji's response. "I know, I know... It's just that water saps all of my strength and leaves me for dead... even a tiny little bit." He slowed down so they were walking side by side, step in step, and nudges her. "And I wouldn't die on you yet.. haven't had a good chance to wow you." He returned the wink with a wide grin then took a look about as they got into the town. So many sounds and smells, thankfully, this town's smells were more on the pleasant side compared to many other he had been to. His ears flickered in her voices direction and he snerked. "I haven't the slightest where they go but we can always keep an eye out while we do our thing." He winked at her once more as he put a finger up to his lips. "But until we get the chance.. let's just scope out the scene." He said as he eyed a stand of jerky and other tasty meat snacks.
Slowly he made his way over to the stand, picking up different packages and comparing them. After a minute he motioned Taji to come over. "Hey... what do you think this smells like?" He slipped one of the packets he was holding into her hand for her to smell, letting the other drop to the ground. "Oh damn!" He bent down and picked it up, carefully slipping something into his pouch. "Sorry about that sir. Do we owe you for any damages?" He asked as he was hoping Taji would get the gist that he was trying to distract the merchant.

Taji followed Ace up to the meat stand and chuckled slightly under her breath. It's always food with this guy. She shook her head and kept a close eye on her surroundings to make sure nobody was paying too close of attention to them. She sniffed at all of the different meats as Ace handed her one of the packets. She pretended to be interested in it while flipping it over and sniffing it.
When Ace dropped the package she knew what he was getting at. Carefully she slit the bottom of the package letting a couple of pieces fall to the ground and hoped that the merchant wouldn't notice them. Luckily Ace's distraction worked and she placed the package back on the stand so the merchant couldn't see the hole. How clumsy of you! She turned back towards the merchant. Sorry about that. He can be a bit of a clutz. Let me make sure he got everything. She bent down and slipped what she had dropped into Ace's pouch as she lifted herself back up. Yup, looks all clean down there. She grinned with satisfaction and looked at Ace. Wow, these do smell really good. I don't think we have the money for them though. Sorry for wasting your time sir! she said as she stepped away from the merchant. Maybe later! As the two walked away she felt satisfied with her first, and surely not the last successful thieving.
