(( Ah, that makes more sense. I don't see the problem in defense rolls though- after our post, we can roll a defense/attack post OOC, depending on which we roll in our first post. It's not like we don't have the time. ;D
For now, I will roll a defense post before I actually post a reply. XP ))

The ferocity of Thayne's attack had Kurogane on a tight defense- he had to be, to keep the wolf from getting a handle on him. Several times, he jerked a limb or tail out of Thayne's jaws by a hair's space. Thanks to this, though, he quickly fell back on his fighting tradition- he no longer thought. At all. He was only outrage at this wolf who dared fight him. He would NOT stand for it.
Almost as quickly as Thayne had begun his attack, Kuro launched his own, viciously grabbing for any bit of flesh he could reach. The other wolf was fast, so the probablility of striking him was low- but he couldn't be so very quick that he was invulnerable. His own bloodlust rose, and he would have it. He would taste this fool's blood!
(( You know, I think the only way to have these guys stop is to exhaust them. xD; ))

The she wolf rose to her paws, terribly shaken, and struggled to maintain her balance on the slippery ice as she made for solid ground. Her mind was racing with a bit of panic. Thayne and Kurogane were fighting, and she really only knew anything about Kuro's fighting history and techniques, she didn't know the first thing about how well Thayne could or could not hold his own. Her ears flattened and she called out, hesitant to risk distracting him, but not wanting to see him get injured.
"No!"

[[ Ha, Thayne's lost his surprise element. ]]
Thayne managed to dodge Kuro's early attacks and match them with his own, but his advantage couldn't last forever. The time did come, of course, when Kuro made a move too good to escape. The larger wolf caught Thayne's left shoulder and tore into him, leaving a short and shallow but nonetheless nasty-looking gash. Thayne snarled and yanked away from the other's teeth, tearing the skin a little more but too high on adrenaline and rage to care who made first blood.
It was about then that he heard Tony's voice, calling "No!" It was as if she were far away to his ears. He never turned to see her or give her notice, his eyes locked on Kuro. Somewhere in his brain, however, he shouted back to her.
Run, Tony. Run as fast as ye can. I'll keep 'im 'way.
Run.

Kurogane felt a thrill of thriumph when he tasted copper on his tongue, and he snarled victoriously, revelling in it. Let the fool learn that Kurogane wasn't one to be taken on lighty!
His victory was shortlived, though, when Thayne's teeth ran too close to the place where his neck and shoulder joined, and scraped the skin there. The force of his jaws carried fur away when Kurogane countered him.
A light wound, but one that only served to enrage Kurogane further. Now with no regard to his own safety, the larger wolf used his body as a weapon as well, trying to shove Thayne down with his bulk for an easer attack, and otherwise trying to bully ground from him. His snaps were as vicious as before, if not moreso.

((OOC: Attack roll, >w<))
"Kurogane, Thayne, stop!!" The she wolf didn't run. She simply paced a bit where she stood and cringed as blood spilt onto the toussled snow. She yelled at Kuro to stop because she was desperate to put a cease to the fighting, but she yelled at Thayne because she wanted him to back off before he got himself more hurt than he was. She wasn't worth all of this suffering! Her yowling DID reach someone's ears, however, a particular she-wolf lingering in the area in shattered hopes of hunting some rabbits.
Her ears perked and her head lifted, nose sniffing diligently at the crisp air. Talia knew both scents, one more vaguely than the other, but all the same. Kurogane, and Thayne! Blood? They were fighting? Crap!
Thayne was much more of a friend and an ally than Kurogane, since she had only exchanged words with Kuro on the briefest of terms, with Whisper around. Now the black-she swiftly changed direction and bolted towards the sounds of the battle. She didn't much care about honor, she saw her friend in trouble, and hell if she wasn't going to step in to help!
The she wolf kept silent, going for the edge of surprise rather than announcing herself. She was aiming to bowl into the other wolf. She didn't have to hurt him, just knock him away from Thayne, hopefully long enough for them to come out of the blood lust frenzy and take heed to the female pleading for them to stop-- Tony. She didn't know what was going on, but nothing would be accomplished with clouded judgement and snapping jaws.

Kuro didn't quite manage to shove Thayne down or move him much more than a few inches. In fact, Thayne and Kuro were match-for-match now, shoving against each other as they snapped viciously at each other. Thayne's rage was slowly taking over, his pupils almost grown so large as to turn his eyes black.
Thayne managed a particularly powerful shove against Kuro and moved to knock the other wolf's feet from under him, planning that if it worked, he'd be on the other like foxes on leftovers and tearing the hell out of him.

Despite Thayne's increasing strength thanks to blood rage, Kurogane wasn't yet tired enough to be overpowered by him... or at least, overpowered by him alone. He was taken by complete surprise when another body threw itself into him, effectively shoving the breath out of him momentarily.
With the combined attacks of the unknown body- vaguely familiar for some reason, but not enough for him to think it more than deja vu- and Thayne, Kurogane went sprawling. He wheezed once or twice, catching his breath, before scrambling to his feet again.. to be faced with the stranger.
"Move!" He snarled, eager to get back into the fray.
