Isiah glanced to Kredoe, then to Ryuhei, then to Kredoe, then back to Ryuhei. "What is wrong with you two!?" he demanded. "Ryuhei here attacked you, Kree. Why are you acting like you're the one who's in the wrong? Don't tell me you provoked him to attack you? I thought you were over that phase."
He frowned in disapproval at the mare, "We are going to have to have a talk, you and I," He informed her, before glaring at Ryuhei, "As for you, I don't tolerate anyone attacking my family even if it was provoked. You have to learn to let some things go, no matter how tempting physical retaliation is. And how can I trust you not to hurt her when I'm not around?"

Kredoe fluttered her lids in feigned innocence at Isiah. "But we already had that talk about the birds and the bees." She fought back the smirk when Isiah's eyes flashed in anger. "But I wouldn't mind accepting Ryuhei's apology. If he plans on sticking with us that is."

Ryuhei would shrug but having Isiah's legs still on top of him made that gesture impossible. Instead his nostrils flared as he snorted, "Her choice, not mine."
He sounded resigned rather than apologetic. And he couldn't blame the suspicion in Isiah's eyes. "Hey, Isiah, you wanna know how you can trust me not to hurt her when you're not around?"
It was a question of the rhetorical kind, which Ryuhei made known by immediately continuing "You can't. Just like you can't trust her not to piss someone else off. She's an adult and believe it or not, she knows what she's doing. What she doesn't know are the consequences that might occur. But you can bet some of them aren't going to be pleasant."

The expression on Isiah's face turned ugly. Spitefully, he gave Ryuhei a hard kick, but took no comfort on the pained gasp he managed to elicit. "That may be the case, but I will see to it nothing happens to her when I'm around."
He looked sharply at the mare, "I catch you being an idiot again, it'll be you on the ground and not Ryuhei. You're going to learn what it's like to be disciplined."
And with that, Isiah marched off, muttering angrily beneath his breath.

Kredoe felt the back of her neck prickle in fear but she couldn't help but feel excited. This was a whole different side of Isiah she had never seen before. And she would never have learned about it had it not been for the stallion currently struggling to get up.
With a saccharine smile, she watched him rise and made no offer to help him up. "You're welcome," she beamed before she trotted off.

Which left a very annoyed and confused Ryuhei to deal with his pain on his own. Nothing broken, thankfully, but he was certainly going to bruise. The only thing that could make this worse was if-
Footsteps!
He turned abruptly, suppressed a wince, and faced down the two-legged creature that he guessed had witnessed the little altercation. He snorted in open hostility at the small vial it held. Once opened, Ryuhei recognized the scent that came from the jar. Herbs. Was it going to feed him medicine? Apparently not because he watched it dip a rag into the vial and slowly approached him, a hand outstretched.
Something about its stance and aura indicated it meant him no harm. Even when the rag was applied to the spot Isiah had kicked. He heard no chiding sounds, no condescending gobbledygook, just a soothing humming while it stroked his neck and scratched his ears. He listened as the two-legger ramble comfortingly until he became drowsy from the attention.
He supposed he was ready to call this place home.
