Maybe I'm explaining this wrong. This would be done in a group. Only, someone who critic it and summarize it as we go through the book. That's where the paper would come in.

We are also trying to do a regular Book Review in the paper. It would be on a different book and the reader/writer of the article would pick which book they wanted to write about.

IceeWitch

The thing about AC is that her books are geared towards mature age groups. I didn't read my first one until I was 13 (which my mom considered early)

{Didn't we find out that the average age of the Guild was about 16. I can't remember anyone under 13 or 14.}

I don't really have any ideas to add right now, but may I just say that um... I feel really old now... sweatdrop

Hmm maybe we should start broad and then narrow it down. Like, let's all agree on a genre, then an author, then a book.

That's a good idea. I think everyone should write down the genre they would like to read. Put a first choice and a second choice, then we will vote on it. Then we will pick an Author and a book the same way.

Okay so my choices are:
1. Murder Mystery
2. Fantasy

{Oh, and I'll Edit the first post to say to do this.}

Edit: I edited the first post of this thread. So that it say's what to do.

1. Fantasy
2. Mystery

Some books can even fall under both categories.

I've been reading the Dresden Files (series). They're both fantasy and mystery. I quite like them. They're also not too long; you'd be able to read one in a month. However, I'm not sure I'd recommend it for those who are 13 or 14. The murder in the first one is a little gruesome.

Anyone know any other books that fit both of these categories?

1. Classic Fantasy
2. Modern/real-world Fantasy

I'm not sure that really counts as two genres, does it? More sub-genres than anything...eh.
If that doesn't work, go with Fantasy, then maybe Science Fiction for me. Maybe - big maybe.

I'd go with sub-genres. They are quite different, though.
I'm not a big fan of most science fiction.

And I feel very little. Only 13 over here! I'm just glad that I am like way mature. I can successfully say that age is but a number.

This can't be everyone who would like to get involved with this.
Oh, and I'm going to wait until the HM has come out for May, then after a few days if no one has posted again we'll move on to voting for a the genre.

Same here. I actually don't read much of it, though I do have to say that the Star Wars movies were good. They did tend a bit toward fantasy with the concept of the Force and Jedi Knights.

The Poll is now up for which type of genera we should read. The poll will be up until June 7th, hopefully this will give time for everyone that's interested to Vote. After the genera has been chosen, we will move on to picking an Author.
