I didnt mind the daleks returning, I sorta have a soft spot for the old rust buckets... it would be nice not to overuse them mind you, maybe bring them in a couple times during the series... I do scoff at the multicolored jamble of them... then again perhaps they will be like Dalek commanders or elders, each color representing a group... hehe... then again when I think of it that way... I keep having the first death star battle in Episode 4 pop into my head... "This is Red 5, Im going in" ... Didnt make the Power Ranger tie in until now... suppose Im just a tad thick when it comes to that sweatdrop
As for the new opening... I couldnt help but think it was fitting... all the turbulence and thunder... like a stormy ocean... signifying that "Oh Noes, Moffat's gonna suck!!"...

The new opening rocks, don't even get me started on that.
The new daleks, however, frankly look like they've been cast out of duplo. They're the sort of thing that would be hard-pressed to terrorise a toddler in a ballpen now.
Thanks for that, Moffat D:<

Moffat doesn't suck. He just delivers a different experience from Russel. A more cereberal experience in many ways.
It just turns out we all happen to find that jarring and actually quite miss RTD's pantomime nonsense.
Which is hilariously ironic, really xD

Ridley Wolf I think we are all in agreement on one thing. Moffat sucks. I disagree. This series had been great so far, minus a few small issues which I can live with. The story lines are much better to the stuff RTD gave us. The Doctor and Amy actually come up with proper solutions to the problems they face, whereas RTD would have just had the doctor wave his sonic wang around and fix everything. The end of series 4 was so unbelievably bad it actually outweighs the awesomeness of Davros. Donna started hacking away on the dalek keyboard and suddenly they all blow up. ugh But back to the new daleks. When seeing them a second time I have to admit, the Power Daleks do start to grow on me.

knightofthe21stcentury Donna started hacking away on the dalek keyboard and suddenly they all blow up. Your right, Donna only suddenly touched the hand and got a little time lord inside her then knew exactly what she was doing on those things. Amy walks into a room and within 5mins knows the personality of a starwhale and that is something the lowly doctor could never understand or pick up on. Amy is better than any companion so far because she can walk into a room and fix any problem within 5 mins and in the most unkown ways ever. Amy even won WWII thanks to that last flying spitfire to be used as a prototype for more to be made and win the war in one night. The show is riddled in plot holes that you can't even watch it without finding something wrong and no matter how hard you try to make up a pretend reason in your head so it all works about a million other things pop up to ruin it. I started this thing out with the thought that I was going to love the show but just like everyone else who shouted out that Steven Moffet was going to do great I came to hate the show. lots of people didn't like RTD but now a lot of those people are wishing he was still around.

Back to the daleks, I think the chief problem is they just look so unwieldy now. Even by Dalek standards. And not in a 'scary' big way. It's like being menaced by tractors.
Dayglo tractors >.>

GR8 NRG Amy even won WWII thanks to that last flying spitfire to be used as a prototype for more to be made and win the war in one night. I don't understand... the doctor took out all the dalek tech from those spitfires, what does Amy have to do with them? Jettrick Back to the daleks, I think the chief problem is they just look so unwieldy now. Even by Dalek standards. And not in a 'scary' big way. It's like being menaced by tractors. Dayglo tractors >.> The Daleks were always like that though. I don't see them any more awkward than before. I'm sure that when we see them fly they will be much more terrifying that the relatively lightweight Time War Daleks.

Remember when the Doctor picked up Amy in "the Eleventh Hour"? We never knew what time period that was. We just think it's 2010. What if it was 2008/9? For all we know, he could have picked up Amy the night before the Daleks invaded!

To be honest, I love and hate the daleks right now. Just like I do with Doctor Who right now! One one hand, they're still geniuses. The android idea was brilliant. On the OTHER hand, they look...strange. The multiple colors...what? And they destroy the other daleks? I know they're supposed to be cold, but...gee.

Ok. I am almost completely certain that not all of them will be power ranger colored like that. It sounded like one of them was listing off each of their rank/job things. All I caught was "the Strategist, the Eternal, and the Supreme."

This was my favorite episode so far. The Daleks do look as if they came out of a children's museum. I feel like Amy is just solving problems that Moffat doesn't feel like having the Doctor solve. Matt Smith is doing the how and Amy is doing the "why".
