"I'm a botanist." Mau said simply. "I research plants and the properties certain plants have in hopes to make lives for humans and pokemon better." He smiled softly at the child. "Vahy'n looks to be very healthy. I bet you will be with her for many many more years."
Aki's head fins wiggled a little. "Vapo?" He wondered why this pokemon wasn't as eager to play as he was.

The look on her face as she smiled at the scientist, said that there was nothing that made her happier then what he had just told her.
She did hope she could spend a long time with Vahy'n. that would mean so much to her.
"I'll do everything I can to keep her healthy and strong. I'm learning a lot about pokemon, and its so much fun."
she looked down at Vahy'n, reaching out to pet her head gently, the crouched down to speak quietly to her "he's pretty cute isn't he Vany'n" she said, talking about Aki "you should go play with him, make friends"
Vahy'n looked over at her young mistress, blinking a couple of times, before letting off a soft sigh. she might as well show this pup at heart how its done.
crouching down she pounced forward, stopping in front of him.
this caused Rosie to giggle. looking over at the two, then back over at Mau "I bet working with plants is a lot of fun. and your doing it to help others. thats wonderful!"

Mau smiled, and was about to say something when Aki yelped in glee as Vahy'n pounced at him. Aki swatted at her nose playfully and skirted around her before running off around the berry bush and peeking out at her. "VA! VA!"
Mau could only laugh and shake his head. "He just won't grow up." He said with a smile. "It's very rewarding to work with plants. And they're nutritious for both humans and pokemon. And with the healing properties of some of the berries, they make potent medicines too." He trailed off a little. "I'm probably boring you with this, huh?"

"Mmm!" she hummed excitedly, shaking her head quickly and giving him another smile "not at all, you sound like its something you really love. I think everyone should do what they love to do. I'm glad you get to"
Vahy'n huffed swiftly when he swatted at her nose. lifting her eyes to him and watching him dart away, thats when she crouched down lower and made a sharp dart to run through the bush, right at him.

Mau laughed slightly at that. "I suppose so. Love what you do and you will never work a day in your life. And I do love what I do." He put one hand on the bag which held the samples of the plants and berries, the other hand on his hip. "The apricorns you found... Whats say you we take a look at them, hmmm?"
Aki yelped and was very nearly bowled over when Vahy'n burst through the berry bush. He gave a playful growl as he rolled on the ground. Now THIS was playing! He playfully squirted water over their head, water droplets spattering around them. The mist from the watergun casting a rainbow around them.

Perking up excitedly with a swing of her arms when he offered to look at the apricons with her. spinning happily and waving for him to follow "yeah they're over this way." she called, hurrying back to the tree she had found them in "I couldn't reach them though, since they are so high up." hurrying right back over to the tree, smiling up at the pretty pink apricorn, she reached up, bouncing a couple of times to try and snag one down.
"Right here."
Ducking her head lightly when he shot out the water, but at the next moment she looks around, noticing the rainbow he was making.
"Vaporeon" she said lightly. tilting her own head open and opening her mouth.
taking a moment to get control of the power she wanted to use, a glistening colorful beam swirled up, igniting every droplet in the air with color.
the water reflecting her aurora beam.

Mau followed her the half dozen or so steps to the tree where the apricorns were hanging overhead. One advantage to being tall, was all Mau had to do was stretch a little and he plucked one of the pink things from the tree. He held it out to Rosie. "You know, you could probably have pokemon help you harvest them. I'm sure your vaporeon could knock them off a tree with a well aimed attack. It would be interesting training to work on aim and focusing attacks. Or agility training for a flying type... if you have one." Mau smiled before a wash of light caught his attention. He turned to look as Aki and Vahy'n were showing off their attacks and making quite a spectacle with each other.

"Ohhh" she cooed softly, impressed as she watched him simply reach up and pluck one of the Apricorns from the tree.
Her face lit up when he handed it to her, her cheeks tinting pink as she reached up and accepted it, looking over the beautiful pink of the Apricorn, cradling it in the cup of her hands gently.
"Vahy'n my only pokemon, I bet she could help me." a flying type would be fun to have. She's wondered what other kinds of Pokemon she would end up catching someday.
Like Mau, her attention was drawn over to the incredible lights that the Vaporeon where creating. gasping in amazement, she hugged the Apricorn to her, eyes growing wide at the beauty of the rainbow.

The coo was a little strange, so he was very glad he didn't have time to be embarrassed about his height. Aki yiped with excitement and leaped up, bounding through the rainbows now. "Geeze Aki, have you no shame?" He laughed at the pokemon who still acted like a pup.
Hearing his name, Aki looked up at Mau before pouncing at Vahy'n. He just knew that any moment now, he would either be called back to his ball, or they would have to leave to finish working or something, so he wanted to make the most of his play time while he could!
"You know" Mau started with a chuckle "there are a few apricorn trees around here. Might be good for some accuracy training. See if Vahy'n can one shot an apricorn from the branches."

"I bet she could" Rosie said, still giggling a little at how cute Aki was acting. Vahy'n still sitting there blinking at the energetic Vaporeon.
"Vahy'n" Rosie called to her pokemon.
Reaching a hand out to her when she pushed herself up, and trotted over to her trainer.
Rosie pointed up to the Apricorns in the tree, and smiled "do you think you could help be get those down?"
Vahy'n glanced up at the spircorns, yellow eyes scanning the tree for a moment before she tilted her chin up a little.
'whoosh whoosh whoosh'
three quick very small jets of water,
'plunk plunk plunk'
and three large apricorns were cut from the tree, plopping to the ground.
"oohh" Rosie said, her eyebrows raised, then she smiled and looked at Mau "oh, she's good!"
Vahy'n looked to the two humans, it was clear this pokemon had had training before Rosie had owned her.

Aki pouted and grumbled a little as his new friend trot back to the humans. Though he followed suit and sat beside Mau.
"Oh! That's very good... and you say you're a new trainer? That's impressive then." He eyed the vaporeon, then the girl and smiled. Aki looked up at Mau, then at the tree, and didn't want to be outdone. Taking a breath, Aki fired off a couple of icebeams, freezing and snapping the stems of a couple other apricorns, trot over and picked up one in his mouth, and looked back to Mau for approval. Mau applauded Aki with a laugh.

"Hee hee, I am" Rosie started, crouching down and patting Vahy'n before getting back up and hurrying over to pluck up the fallen Apricorns.
"Vahy'n used to belong to my mom"
looking back up at Mau, glowing when he smiled, people looked so much better when they smiles, and he was handsome, and very well dressed. he was a nice man.
Giggleing when Aki got his own Apricorns she held her hand out to pat him "your really good at that to Aki"

Mau kept his face pleasant, but his mind reeled back when she said it belonged to her mother. He had been vaguely contemplating stealing it. But now... a conflict of morals. He couldn't take it. Of course, vaporeon were special, and the bond with vaporeons was a special thing.
Aki dropped the apricorn at Rosie's feet and looked up at her. "Veee!" He loved getting patted, and he felt like he'd done good by both this girl and Mau.
"How long have you been out training?"

Patting the handsome boy a few more times, she giggled softly reaching down to pick up the Apricorn he brought her.
"humm" she paused, standing and looking thoughtful for a moment. "Three months now" she answered with a sideways glance over to Mau

"Three months? Have you caught any other pokemon yet?" He asked. He knew that there were plenty of pokemon in this area, If they just found one. "Not to sound presumptuous or mean, but you do know how to catch pokemon, correct? And you keep some extra pokeballs on you?"
