I've only read the first two, but I'm planning on buying the third.

I love these - some of my favourites.
I got part-way through another book yesterday - The Ragwitch - by Garth Nix and hated it though.

The Abhorsen series is one of my favorite series of all time. I first read it when I was 12 or 13; it was a Christmas present from my sister. She read it twice before giving it to me and then stole it from me afterwards. I guess that's what sisters are for. "The Creature in the Case" frustrated me a little bit. I wish it had a little bit more of Nick across the Wall and also Lirael and Nick together. If it had been fleshed out to full novel length I probably would have loved it even more.

Nix is a genius.
I need to get Over the Wall. I hear it's a series of short stories pertaining to other Abhorsens.

I just finished Lirael and Abhorsen, and I have to say I liked it, though by far I feel I liked Sabriel the best.

Well, the ending wasn't bad, but some of it was predictable...
The hardest thing about Lirael and Abhorsen was the "feel" of the books...like Lirael was slower but you needed that to get to know her...but it broke off at a really odd point, and took a long time to come together...
But then Abhorsen was just so fast paced, and there was no other way I understand, but it was awkward all the same.

I didn't really enjoy Across the wall as much as the first three. My favourite is definitely Sabriel.

Sabriel stands alone very well. The others need the rest of the series to make sense.
That said, I've read and own all of them. I wish Nix would do a full length novel for the series again....it's definitely his best creation.

I can't find Across The Wall anywhere, but I've read the novella (The Creature In The Case) and the trilogy. I love all of them, although my favourite has to be Lirael. I became strangely attached to the Disreputable Dog and Nicholas (I know they're in Abhorsen, too, but I prefer Lirael for some reason).

I liked Sabriel but the others kind of bored me. I haven't read the newest one yet but I'll take it out next time I get to the library.

I was rather fond of Dog myself; for Nick though, it was more of pity mixed with "damn you have bad luck kid...and you're such a good boy too..."
What's the newest one?

I love Lirael . The other two are alright, but not as good in my opinion.
