πΏππ π―ππππππ are a race renowned for their power. They live their lives as a timeless species much like the elves. The truly young are rarely ever seen, kept out of sight by their elders for their own well being. Upon reaching the age of roughly 1000 years a dragon reaches true adulthood and will master the ability to adopt a human like form, often with a telling feature like horns. Older dragons learn to suppress such tells but often will not bother. When it comes to their life spans Dragons like the other races are susceptible to untimely death, not even the undead race of the Vampires are truly immortal thought they hold a better claim to such a title than other races. When it comes to natural life span thought there is no set limit. A dragon becomes an elder upon wishing to die and ages rapidly afterwards, usually passing on within weeks. Dragons posses keen senses, particularly that of sight, and are physically larger than most other races. The females of the species are generally larger than the males of the same age and as such a Matriarchal system of governance has been the traditional form of seated power among dragons.
π»ππππ ππ πππ ππππ ππ π¬πππ the dragons were widely respected for their strength of course. Strength which they openly shared with other races. However, the assistance the dragons provided was not limited to the power of body. They were also widely respected for their keen minds. Few ever seemed to attain the wisdom of a dragon. They often spent a great deal of time collecting knowledge along side trinkets of wealth. These items were the source of trade that flowed from the territories of the dragons. Their ties to the other races started with the Vampires, who were widely respected for their own claims to power. The Elves and Mages were fascinating in their own way. the dragons were particularly fond of the Mage's and their shared quest for knowledge. The Ware's rounded out the bottom. The two races were on good terms but rarely interacted above the personal level.
π¬ππππ πππ ππππ ππ π¬πππ πππ πΊπππππ the dragons like all the other races changed their attitudes. They opted to make no claims to prior knowledge of the details the Book of Ages revealed as to them doing so was foolish. A secret knowledge was obviously secret or else the society they all knew up to then would never of survived. The dragons remain a powerful and highly intelligent race. They are very proud as a race. Before the opening many dragons never hide their tell in human form simply for a matter of it being an inconvenience, now they typically refrain from doing so as they are much to proud of their race to hide it. Dragons continued to trade ore and gems with other races however they began to fiercely guard the knowledge and wisdom their race was continuing to gather. The most valuable trade resource the dragons provide the world is a gem know and Fire Gems, a brilliant red stone that contains magic energy that dances within. Only the dragons know where to find these rocks and the dragons are well aware that the other races prize them for their immense beauty and magic amplify power.
When it comes to the other races the dragons have varying views. The Vampires are kept close. An alliance of sorts is maintained with them. While no dragon open acknowledge the strength of the vampires they do hold a grudging respect for them as being the most likely second best in power compared to themselves. The elves are viewed in a friendly light as well, however they garner no special respect from the dragons. On the other end of the spectrum are the Wares and Mages. The wares fell far indeed in ranking with he dragons after the the book of ages added vices and other knowledge to this world. The king of the wares becoming arrogant and cruel and prone to risky decisions. He lead his race to ruin and put them in a very precarious place. Their fighting with the vampires and other races and more than an acceptable amount of gambling left the Ware's in debt to many races for one reason or another. The wares owed a great deal to the dragons as the king pursued more fire gems than the race was capable of grasping. The dragons still view the wares as being weak and unworthy in many ways but they have at least managed to repair this issue through the efforts of their Queen. As for the Mages the dragons tolerate them. They are distrustful and even competitive with the mages. The dragons no longer share their wisdom and constantly wish to obtain any the mages have found on their own. The changes in the mage society can make doing so easier but at the same time the behaviors of the mages have been growing irksome to the dragons as the mages constantly intrude in dragon territory.
Among their own kind dragons are independent. Each one staking out their own territory and claims. They generally ignore governmental workings of their domain. If it doesn't concern them they give it no concern. When the matter does concern them they will defer to the status of rank. Rank falling to those of age and great power who have taken it upon themselves to manage the welfare of their race as a whole.
