Aika glanced over at Dusk's worried expression and grimaced at the fact that he was so distraught. She had to figure something out, something better to say " It will be ok Dusky~ Kalona can fly and run for sure, but i can fly in ways they can't" she winked at him " i've got my mom's fighting spirit in there somewhere~!!" she warbled a bit of laughter " if we work together we can cow any kinda crazy sharptooth~ two against one isn't good odds for anyone, ya know?" she hoped that made him feel better, they were, afterall, young adults~ out in the world at last. Everyone had to face danger at some point. But hopefully they wouldn't have to. She huffed and buzzed her wings as they entered a deforested area, readying for take off.

It was true, two against one odds weren't good odds at all, though that very scenario could be turned around on them? What if they were to accidentally run in on a group of Kalona's? Dusk didnt want to think too much on Aika being hurt, it was a depressing thought, and they weren't going on this adventure to be depressed. Dusk flashed Aika a smile, a bit of reassurance to let her know that everything was fine. It was then that they came to the clearing. He turned and looked in amazement at his friend's wings. As they buzzed it seemed almost that they weren't there; and they hummed. He chuckled a bit. "Is there anything about you that doesn't express your love for music?" He asked her quite sincerely. It was simply a wonder that most things she did and said expressed a liking of it, her tweets and thrills, but for her wings to also create their own music.. it was interesting. He chuckled lightly to himself, waiting for her to take flight, and humming along with her wings.

Aika smirked at her dear friend, tweeting a few notes " i'm sure i'm just made of muscial talent or something Dusky~!! hehe" she leapt into the air using the unique muscles in her shoulders and bitty wings to rotate around and buzz above him in a circle* " wheee~"
She flew a bit higher " hey Dusky, wish you could see this~ it's a nice view from here~" she thought about this for a second and then realized she could scout for danger this way too~ " she peeped down at him " that big ol body of water is in sight too~!! we could make it there pretty quick if we tried" she beamed down at him, excited for the new wonders ahead.

"Well, if you aren't you sure aught to be," Dusk said with a smile as she leaped into the air. "And I bet it is!" He called out. "We'll have to visit the mountains one day so I can see the world as you see it." One thing at a time though and the ocean was first. It was almost as though he had been given an added burst of energy when Aika exclaimed that she could see the ocean. He couldn't see how they could be to it so soon, but then again time flew when one was having fun. The vegetation was beginning to change as well, not as many cold weather trees or shrubs. "Race you there!" He called to the sky, to Aika, and with that Dusk was off. He had been running before, but it had been at a determined steady pace. Now he ran as if his life depended on it, leaping bushes and fallen trees instead of going around them. He knew he'd pay for it later, he had never run this much before in his life - but he'd do it a thousand times over if he had to for the shear thrill.

She smiled down at him, " ah, right~ mountains will do that~!! good thinking Dusky~!!" She barely had time to think about the possiblities before he cried out " Race you there!" and took off. She gasped and set her jaw in a silly stubborn expression " oh no you doooont~!!!" and she was off like a shot, her little wings propelling her forward at a remarkable speed. Her only worries at this point were watching her friend below and dodging trees~ she flew a bit higher than the treetops, her goal lin sight. " WEEEEEHAAAHHH~!!!"

Aika was going to beat him to the shore line, Dusk knew she would, but the race was fun none the less. He kept his sight on his goal, ever looking ahead. It took a while, but not long after he could see that the trees were thinning. Blue sparkled on the horizon, beige sand ebbing into it. The ocean. Dusk looked up for only a moment, just in time to see Aika pass over him. "We're almost there!!"
