She had a good relationship with her human, she was such a precious friend, but Rain Curl also loved the home she had spent so many years at. It was special to her. She was glad Wakka saw it too.
"Yes, that's exactly how I feel." She nodded. But hearing that Wakka had no real home, she was sad by it. Surely everyone had some place that they could call home? But since he was traveler, he probably didn't have one. He seemed okay by it but Rain Curl couldn't imagine how he must feel, never truly belonging to one place and one place only. "Don't you find it lonely?" She thought it would be.
Her thoughts were interrupted by his next questions, and she smiled at the memories that came back. "Yes I do like foals. No, I have none of my own." She thought fondly of Mireille, the only foal she ever cared for. "I found a filly a long time ago, she was separated from her family during a snow storm. I cared for her but I never thought of myself as her mother, instead like an older sister. She wasn't much younger than I was." They still had a fairly decent relationship, although it had been awhile since she last saw Mireille. "She has her own family now, she might even be a grandmother." Rain Curl smiled but the passing years made her feel even older, especially if Mireille was a grandma. "How time flies." She murmured.
She looked at his coat, smiling at it. "It does look like something a foal might question about. Something they might even like. You could even use them in a bedtime story and all the adventures those peculiar creatures might find theirselves in." Rain Curl did find them rather interesting.

"Lonely, not really. I meet a lot of people. I probably know and have befriended more souls than people see. Every land I go to is a new chapter and has a new cast. New stories. Even though I might never see them again, thinking off all I have seen and done keeps me company when I am going solo." He smiled. It helped him greatly about the fact he was not shy at all. It aloud him to go up and talk to strangers, learn there stories. For a social creature like himself he loved to make new friends, even if it was only for a short while.
"Its nice of you to care for her. Me, I have not had the chance, travelling makes it hard for me to get close enough to a person for a relationship. Getting people to come with me is even harder, as I said, when you fall in love with a place you leave it for no man. However I am sure one day a mare will convince me to embrace one place. However I am willing to wait for her. Could not imagine myself as a father though, I am probably the worst role model ever." He joked it was true, he was not going to tell the mare, however he was known for one night stands and staying up all night partying. He was a foal himself, well a teenager, forever.
He grinned when he saw her staring at his coat. "Aww. Here was me thinking you were staring because you thought I was handsome shucks." He joked playfully rolling his eyes, looking down at the mare nodding. "Well what adventures would these little creatures have?" He asked, maybe a story playing game would be something to break the ice a little. Even though she seemed to get on with him very well.

Really? She was surprised by his answer, she couldn't imagine how someone could last so long without friends and family nearby. But then again there was her, she traveled all the time, although Rain Curl thought she looked sad lately but Azn never liked being asked so many questions, especially about her personal life. But Wakka looked happy and he acted it too. "I never considered it like that. You'll have stories a plenty to entertain others with." She smiled, absorbing it all in, slowly she began to see how he lasted without friends and family so close.
"Well I'm sure you'll find her someday Wakka." Rain Curl nodded before shaking her head. "I disagree. You're a very kind stallion and with all that traveling, I'm certain any foal, either yours or someone else's, will adore you. I doubt very much that you would be a bad role model for foals." She insisted. She didn't know Wakka for very long but Rain Curl was certain he wouldn't be a bad role model. Unless she completely read him wrong but she didn't think so.
Rain Curl laughed at his comment. "It was rude of me to stare for so long at your coat. " At Wakka's question, Rain Curl thought about it. She remained silent for a couple of minutes as she attempted to forge together a possible adventure. "Well." She paused. Oh dear she had no imagination whatsoever anymore, ideas were failing to come. "Pinky, Bleu and Orange. Forgive me on my lack of originality for their names."
"All three of them would be playing in a garden, a garden with no flowers to admire or pluck or even smell. This garden was dead and only a mare lived there. She told our three playful heroes how to break this horrible curse, for the entire garden was cursed. The three of them had to find the stallion who cursed the garden and take from him a seed. This seed would be magical and if the three heroes could come back to this garden and plant this seed, the spell would be broken." Rain Curl thought it was a decent story, but her naming ability wasn't very good.
"Is it all right? Do you think they'd help her out?" Rain Curl asked. Wait. They were discussing inanimate shapes, how silly really! She smiled at how absurd it was. Getting up this morning, she would never have expected this. But she was glad she met Wakka Wakka, it certainly brightened up her day. All Rain Curl expected today was a small nap and then a dinner by herself in the forest, at least now she was making a new friend which was always great.

"Who knows maybe she is closer than I think." He stated with a playful wink, a large smug smirk on his face. Before moving on swiftly so she could not comment. "Plenty. I would love to share them with you. However that would require many many meetings and I do not know you could put up with me that long, unless you want to." He stated nudging the side of her face playfully and softly. Black eyes twinkling as he did so.
"Do not be sorry, I get it too much for it to bother me anymore. I am just happy it entertains." He stated, almost laughing as she begun the story. "I call them worse things I can assure you." Even though she was a older mare, she came up with the names every child he had met had. Guess it was just destiny for his little monsters to be called that. He did not mind, it actually sounded good when she said it.
"I am sure they would. However I do not think there story ended well, since they ended up as paintings on my coat. Or is that why they are here? stuck to me until I being the flowers back to the garden.... Hmm. I guess I already have. Now he has seen the garden I am afraid the stallion does not want to leave. It is too beautiful to leave you see. Anyways I am sure the little animals are happy they took him to it. If or if not the garden and the maiden's spirit enjoys his company too." Wakka was a confusing male. He would be surprised if Rain understood. He brought the flowers to her. She was the maiden in the garden. Now all was good and beautiful. It was funny how well that story worked in his favor.
He gave another playful wink before he ran off in front. "So will the garden maiden chase after her hero's and the evil stallion? or will she let him go meaning this also meant her little friends would have to do with him?" He smirked turning around and running, hoping she would follow.

She raised her eyebrows at his words but shook her head and smiled. But it was definitely surprising he lasted as long as he did without the flirtatious behaviour. From meeting him initially, Rain Curl could see he was friendly, very so. She hadn't met anyone like him before, although the continuous winks made her blush.
At his nudge she blushed harder. "I think I could put up with you. I do not feel annoyed by you." Rain Curl thought that was a good sign. The first time she met Zei, she thought she could never stand him but after many meetings she considered him a dear friend. Besides, Wakka's stories would be fascinating. Rain Curl was sure of it. "I'd like to hear your stories. As many as there may be." She nodded.
She listened to his words. It was strange, the way he spoke. What did he mean by those words? Sure they were with him but her story was only a story, not real. But the way he spoke, it was like he was living within the story. Like the mare existed and the evil, she blinked. But who was the maiden he referred to? She thought about it.
Rain Curl was thinking too hard on the subject that she didn't notice him running up in front. She turned to Wakka and saw that he was gone. Hearing his voice she looked in front of him. Running, she caught up to him and smiled. "The garden is her home but she also wants the curse to be broken. I think she would go with them and help, as much as she could."
Rain Curl paused. But wouldn't she be reluctant to go? Since she lived there for so long. The mare's home was important to her, just like Rain Curl's home was to her. How strange. The similarities she shared with the mare in the story, was this something she had done unconsciously? But that couldn't be right.

The bright stallion smiled, seeing her blush, he had to admit, it made him blush a little too.... he was not happy about this! Wakka does not blush. I repeat. HE DOES NOT BLUSH! He was shocked, confused by himself. He shook his head, trying to make this moment of insanity to go away. What did that mean? He would not mind it, spending night, after night, telling her his stories, especially if they all ended like this.
Wakka smiled as she saw her chasing after him, this is what he lived for, he loved it when they were playful. However he was very proud of himself this time, such a nice and well brought up lady, playing foal games with him. She had a charm about her, one that he had never seen or noticed before. He looked back. Keeping his hooves pounding against the ground. "Well. It depends how much she is willing to help."
He stated with a smug look as he stopped, rearing and turning, so that he was facing straight on to where the mare was coming. Leaning towards her. It was time for the line, the line he had been thinking about for the last few moments. The line that was going to seal this. Maybe even persuade her to go on a date with him...
"Aww well, you know in fairy tales, how every curse is broken now do you not?" (( Smoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth rofl ))

She could see him blush, did she embarrass him? But what had she said to do so? Rain Curl was trying to be ever so kind and polite, she didn't think she said something indecent. But if she did, it was done mistakenly. Although it was interesting to see him blush, but she wondered why. For when she blushed it was because of compliments or flirtations or even uncertainty.
She breathed out hard as she grew closer to him, trotting at a good pace to reach him. "Well I think she would be very willing, so long as the curse is broken. I do not know how much she could assist him but she would try her best." Rain Curl mused. She only created the mare a few minutes ago and now she was almost deciding her fate. She smiled. But it was a fun conversation to be involved in. She could even use them in future stories to tell some foals.
As he turned, she slowed down and stopped in front of him. Seeing him lean towards her, Rain Curl antipicated that he was going to whisper something in her ear. Curious she turned her head to the side, so that she didn't miss what he had to say.
"Oh!" Rain Curl blinked, not expecting that. "Well aren't those stories with a happy ending?" She questioned. Rain Curl knew the term was familiar but she wasn't told many stories when she was a foal and the stories Mireille wanted to hear were about fighting or playing in mud or other boyish things. Rain Curl was sure fairytales were for fillies, if she was remembering right. Although of course Mireille was an exception.
"It's broken after the evil is vanquished." Rain Curl tilted her head. No, that was wrong. She was sure of it. Why did she say that? Wakka must think she was silly now. "I'm sorry, I think that was the wrong thing to say." She apologized, prodding the ground lightly with a hoof, looking down at the ground.

What could he do? besides laugh. He shook his head before nodding and looking at her. What a interesting mare. A interesting mare indeed. He smiled at her softly. "It is very true. However I believe everyone deserves a happy ending." He stated hearing her apologise, he did not know why she had done it though. He tilted his head, nudging her nuzzle once more, letting out a small yet comforting grunt.
"Nothing you have said today has been silly. Not at all. In fact I think that was a very clever reply. Maybe instead of being vanquished though, the evil stallion does not like the sound of that, maybe he can just be showed the right way? Punishment is easy, giving someone a chance is the hard thing. Especially if you are scared."
He added, she was so cute. The things she said, the way she acted, some things seemed alien to him, this is the longest semi-serious conversation he had ever had. He felt all grown up. He had never felt this way before. Even when he was with mares around him, partying and playing his games, he still felt like he was a child.

Thank goodness. She was relieved she hadn't said anything wrong. It was important to Rain Curl not to upset anyone or offend them. Anything she said, she liked to think over before actually speaking. It was very kind of Wakka to reassure her that she had done nothing wrong in what she said.
But her response still did not feel right to her. Rain Curl felt she was missing something completely. From his reaction to what she said, she knew she wasn't getting it. She racked her brain, trying to remember how a curse was broken in fairytales. Oh it was no use, she was so unused to fairytales. She had to find someone who adored them, then she would understand better.
She smiled graciously at Wakka. "I think you are right. Vanquish is cruel, possibly the enemy could be contained?" She shook her head. "But I can't imagine anyone enjoying that either, to be contained for an uncertain amount of time." Rain Curl thought about what Wakka said, about giving someone a second chance. She walked a little forward, wondering if she could forgive someone evil. She stopped.
It would be difficult to forgive someone who hurt her but she hadn't found herself in this position yet. But it was a position she never wanted to be in, it would be so hard to deal with. It was easy to say in words that she could forgive someone so that they could have a second chance. But to actually experience it, Rain Curl was uncertain how she may be.
"Maybe a second chance would be all right. If he or she was willing and would never hurt any one else ever again." She replied at long last. It was a troublesome thing to think about, mostly because she was so sheltered and had experienced so little in her life.

"Well there is a difference between being contained and wanting to stay, to learn something new and to have something you have never had before. Sometimes things that sound horrible are a blessing in disguise." He added with a small nod watching her closely, looking down at her with his large dark eyes. "I know if I found a pretty princess who was willing to teach me a thing or two, I would not want to leave" He added tilting his head slightly. Stroking one of his front hooves against the floor in a sheep like manor. He usually did not talk to seriously. However he was starting to see this story being a lot realer than he thought.
"I do not think he will ever have to hurt anyone ever again, not if he had a good teacher and someone who could keep a eye on him, to support him and show him that someone cares. I think he would be very happy. However would the princess be happy with such a huge responsibility?" He asked back. Leaning towards her a little more. Tilting his head, his nose very close to her own. A warm smile on his face. His mane flopping to one side with the breeze.
"By the way, in fairy tales the curse is always broken with a kiss and ends with a happily ever after." He stated with a small wink. Rain was a lovely mare, she really was a princess on her own, she was smart, she was interesting and she was beautiful. She really did have the full package plus age and experience to back it up. Who ever stole her heart would be lucky indeed. Luckier than Wakka was. He approached with the intention to bed the mare, however that had changed he did not want to treat her like that she deserved more. So maybe it would be better if he left her to her own life. Even though he did not really want to.

She listened attentively to what he had to say. It was such a serious conversation but so far she was enjoying herself. It wasn't too often a day of sunbathing turns into a day of meeting someone new and having a deep conversation with them. Although was that strange? She hadn't known Wakka for very long after all but talking with him was like talking with someone she had known for a long time. Rain Curl felt comfortable with him. It must be due to his friendly behaviour.
So this princess was destined to watch over the evil? What a difficult task for her to accomplish. It was unfair, really, but who else could do it but her? Rain Curl admittedly would like the princess to have a happy ending but perhaps it was not to be so. Unless she was supposed to have a happy ending with the evil? Rain Curl was sure that didn't happen often. Or at all.
"If she must be the one to help him or the only one willing to, then I think that is what needs to be done to have this evil become good again. But I do not know whether she would be happy with such a responsibility. She already has such duties to her garden but if he helps then she could help him." Rain Curl had thought hard on her response to his question. It was amazing how attached she was slowly becoming to this princess. It was like she knew her, in a way.
She turned her head, just as he tilted his. His nose was almost touching her nose. She backed up, her eyes flitting downward. She hadn't realized how close she was to Wakka. She blushed. It was unfortunate how easily she blushed. She always had a natural blush on her cheeks but when she was embarrassed or flattered, she blushed harder. Rain Curl couldn't help it, it just happened. Like now.
A kiss? Oh she felt so silly now. She should have remembered it. How did she forget that? But why had Wakka hinted at it? Was the princess supposed to kiss at the end? Rain Curl thought about it. Still she felt rather foolish. Regardless of what Wakka had said to reassure her earlier that she wasn't. "Well I remembered they had a happy ending." She smiled a little.
"But a kiss, I honestly never would have thought of that." Rain Curl admitted. She still was surprised she didn't remember the kiss. Sure she wasn't told those type of stories as a foal and nor had she told a fairy tale before but Rain Curl was sure a kiss was the thing to remember. Especially if it happened a lot at the end of these stories.
She hadn't realized she stopped walking but finally noticing she was just standing there, looking thoughtful, she continued forward again. "There's a tree over there where I usually lay under for a nap. We could stop there for a small snack and then turn back?" Rain Curl suggested. "If you want to." She continued.

"I am sure the princess with find happiness, the spirits are creatures who bless those who have done good. Tending to a garden and purifying a heart once tainted would surely lead her to a happy ened." He smiled and nodded, letting out a small laugh as the mare blushed and backed up, she seemed cute - in a innocent kind of way which was a rare things in his books. He tilted his head as she talked.
"Really? well my dear the kiss is the key, the moment that everyone is awaiting through out the story, the magic moment were the readers and audience know a happy ending is coming, after all after the kiss comes the happily ever after." he stated, Wakka was a huge fan of fairy tales and the love scene was the best moment, where everything romantic bursted into a moment which just made you all warm and fuzzy inside. He was sure that was a very women way of thinking however he did not mind, he liked a good love story and a good cry at the same time.
"Sounds good to me, lets got out the sun before your beautiful skin sazzles more than it already has done." he winked drawing attention to the cute blush she had on her face. Smooth Wakka, Smooth. He thought to himself, for some reason... which was beyond him, the erge to trick this mare into bed with him had died. Was he coming down with something? he was took back by it. It was not like him to not see a mare like that. He laid under the tree and looked her way. She was a good looking mare, maybe he was ill. He moved his mind from the topic. Looking out, his black eyes sucking in the flory which was this beautiful land.
"I have been to many places, to the sand temples, the ice lands, the mountains and some places which are too isolated to even have names, however since I have been in this land, I have seen nothing but beauty, it compared to no other." He said, sounding like he was talking his thoughts outloud, not directed to anything but his own ears.

And she would live happily ever after. It wouldn't come fast for this princess, Rain Curl was sure, but perhaps after many years of hard work and helping others, the princess would be happy. This happiness would come from her work, when she finally achieved all that she wanted to achieve. Rain Curl imagined that if she ever completed a challenge or something she worked hard at for many years, well Rain Curl was positive she would be extremely happy for finishing. Maybe even live happily ever after. She smiled.
That did make sense. Kisses were good, like a small n** or a brush of the nose against the head or cheek. Rain Curl did like seeing others happy and these fairytales sounded like good stories to tell. If this is what made others happy, well Rain Curl would have to learn how to tell a fairytale. She wasn't sure if hers would end with a kiss, did they always? By the way Wakka described it, it seemed so. But what if the characters only wanted friendship or what if they were already betrothed to someone else? Rain Curl shook her head, she was thinking too much into this.
"So is there always romance in a fairytale?" She asked. Wakka certainly seemed to know more about fairytales than she did so it was best to ask him questions. If Rain Curl ever did decide to tell a fairytale to a filly or even a colt, if he really wanted to hear one, she wanted to make sure she knew exactly how to tell one. She didn't want to mess up and confuse someone.
She smiled at his comment about her coat. It was considerate of Wakka but she didn't think she would burn. But she could be wrong. Seeing Wakka lay down, she also laid down, near him. When he started talking about all the places he had visited, Rain Curl lay listening, wide-eyed. They all sounded like lovely places to visit. It was also very sweet of him to call one of her favourite places to see, beautiful.
"It is very nice here. A wonderful place to take walks, to have a nap, or just to think. I love coming here." Rain Curl smiled, she really did like this meadow. She was lucky it was so close to home, she could come here whenever she wanted. "Now, I did mention a snack." Rain Curl looked around till she spotted a bush only a little ways from them. She stood back up and looked down at Wakka. "I'll be right back." She smiled and headed over to the bush.
She reached the bush and after making sure they were good for her and Wakka to eat, she pulled off some of the fruit, placing them on some leaves she collected from a shrub nearby. After collecting a bunch, she tried to balance the leaves in her mouth. She turned and headed back towards Wakka and the oak tree.
So far, so good, she thought. Surprisingly, she managed to bring them over to Wakka without spilling them. Rain Curl was so sure she'd drop at least one, but it must be her lucky day. She laid back down and looked over at Wakka. "Is this all right? I hope I brought enough over, but if not there's more in the bush."

"No, not all fairy tales have romance in them, however each one has a moral. Something that is used to teach the listeners a important lesson, be that to never judge a book by its cover, to follow your dreams or not to trust strangers. However all my favorite ones have a element of romance, just a little sweetness in the end. I mean love its the thing that we all strive for in the end, the one thing none of us can control, its nice to think after these epic adventures the characters who have worked and suffered would come out in the end laying in the arms of a loved one, raising a family and finding some kind of true happiness in their lives. Sure maybe some would disagree that love is not so important its a point of view really, but I like to think one day everyone will find some kind of love because with out it who is to know when you are gone, I do not have the love of a family however I do have the love of my best friend and if that is all I am destined for then so be it, if I could chose though I would love to have a pretty mare by my side who is connected to me in such a deep way."
He began and stopped, man he always new he was a talked but he never really realized how easy words could flow out of her mouth. It was easy to talk to this mare and he was saying things he did not know his heart was deep enough to express. He looked to the ground slightly as the mare wondered off a small blush coming to his face. He should not be thinking these things. However he had a question he wanted to ask her yet even though the words were flowing like water what he wanted to ask was like a rock in the river. Something that just would not come out so instead of forcing it he would say it at the right moment. He turned to her as she started collecting things, tilting his head.
"Why Rain, how about your happy ending, if you could write your own would it end with a handsome prince and a family? a loving stallion which would dote on your every whim and love you unconditionally. Or would you have something else planned?" He asked as the wonderful mare made her way back to him, her mouth full with branches and leaves and other treats which did look very satisfying indeed. He smiled softly and nodded as she laid them down on the floor to be next to him. "Thank you." He bowed his head at her slightly leaning down to take some leaves into his mouth chewing on them happily.

She would remember to always include a moral, it seemed as though that was the most important piece to telling a fairytale. It was good they all didn't include romance, although Rain Curl enjoyed hearing of other's success with it and she did have her own dreams of finding love one day, because then there was some variety.
As Wakka continued on, Rain Curl was surprised by how much she agreed with him. It would be absolutely amazing if every single mare or stallion loved, either through friendship, family or a true love shared between mates. It was an unrealistic wish but Rain Curl had hope. With these characters, Wakka mentioned, well it could also be applied to soquili. If they took a long and difficult path, well Rain Curl would want them to find happiness at the end of their journey.
"You're right." Yes, it sounded so right in her head, as she listened to him. It really did. She didn't know what else to say, but then it didn't appear like there was much more to add. It ended wistfully, it gave Rain Curl a fair bit to think about, for she also would like to find love one day and settle with a good stallion.
When Wakka asked her what she wanted for her own ending, Rain Curl struggled to find the best response. It was a hard question because though she had her hopes and dreams, finding the most perfect answer to what she wanted for her happy ending was challenging.
"One day, I would like to find someone, settle down and have foals of my own. Someone nice with a good upbringing." Rain Curl would never tolerate someone cruel. But she didn't need anyone princely or someone who would dote on her endlessly. She wanted to find someone she would love, who would end up loving her in return. Someone she could grow old and gray with. Wakka's suggestion about loving unconditionally, it would fit best.
"I would be happy with a family." She smiled. When Wakka started to eat, Rain Curl bowed her head and ate some of the food as well. "Have you planned where you are heading next, Wakka?" She inquired, after finishing her portion.
