Vera was momentarily surprised that Janice had brought up Barren Pines, but it was explained rather well when Ursula mentioned the play. So...she'd been there too? Probably involved in it, as Ursula had seemed to understand the not very well coded references to the Negaverse.
"No, she never mentioned it," Vera replied with what might have been amusement. "I don't really remember much of Barren Pines," she continued with a slight frown. It didn't really bother her, but she had the feeling that there were some rather important things she'd forgotten.

"Not many Barren Pines survivors remembered much, I believe," Janice added, in a carefully conversational tone, crossing her arms in front of her chest and touching at her chin with a hand. "Considering the story behind the place, I can't be sure what of it was a drug-induced hallucination." She was looking at Ursula -- no, giving her a look. Ursula knew that look, it was sort of an obvious look even if she'd have never seen it from Janice before.
The mannequin displays behind the large windowpanes of Express trailed away behind them, Janice still with her arms crossed and walking with large strides in her pair of brown-and-white saddle shoes. "You were the drama teacher there, correct? But Barren Pines wasn't really a school, was it? Ursula, do you remember what the operation there really was?"

Frustratingly enough, Ursula simply smiled at the questions.
"I don't know what in the world you're trying to get at, Janice Fitzpatrick. I was given the opportunity to teach at Barren Pines instead of my dull job at Hillworth, so I took it!" The smile remained innocent, answers unrevealed. She turned to stare at the Express display, a dark pair of slacks catching her eye as she continued musing.
"It was a shame that the school year ended as it did. A real shame."
Mostly because she never got to see her play in its entirety, but that little tidbit didn't have to be said.
Straightening herself up, she marched forward as one hand moved back to beckon them onward. "Alright girls, enough talk about boring old dull memories," Or lack thereof, really, "It's time to shop."
Vera simply stared and Janice let out a loud sigh - it was going to be a long afternoon at the mall.
