"Sounds painless.." Dark muttered, the hard expression he usually wore in his face softening as he heard the humming tune that Inukai was giving. "..But I might not have a dream.." He advised, opening his eyes once again, but closing them when they grew too heavy.

He didn't always have dreams. Sometimes he would go with a day or two without dreams, sometimes a week or he might have them nonstop for a couple of days. It's been four days, though since he hadn't dreamt. "..Sometime's...it's hard to dre--"

His hand stopped, and cupped at the top of Inukai's head.

-------

Everything was so dark at first, and he could only see himself floating backwards in an everlasting darkness. He was in front of him while he was in distant location looking at himself. There was nothing, then there was something.

Sudden images flashed through his mind: falling buildings, people screaming and others calling for help as he soared above them. Demons tore through buildings with leaps and flight, crushing those beneath whether they were humans or demons.

Dark, himself, kept soaring through the skies, battling flying breeds that threatened to take them down.

"EVERYONE - get out of here!" Dark called out, twisting on his board to ram it against what looked to be some sort of flying fist type of breed. Moments after he was already swarmed. He cursed under his breath and kick-stepped off his board, grabbing one demon by the face and speeding towards the ground to slam it against a marble building.

"Everyone! Get out!" He cried out, grunting as several devil-type beings pounced him. He ducked and slammed both hands on the ground, his aura repelling those near him before blasting them away in a shockwave.

"Damn it..Northeast won't last long.." He thought, sighing and looking towards the sky. "..I can't keep this going..we have to seal this place now, Old Man." Dark called out.

Inukai could feel that Dark was drifting off, the natural mental defenses that a person was lowering to a dormant level. It was actually convenient that Dark's hand was on his head because he needed to have contact with the person to make things work better.

The demon closed his own eyes and focused on Dark's mind and watched what was either a nightmare or an old memory, either way he felt sorry for Dark since it was far from a pleasant sight.
Inukai soon started absorbing the nightmare, making demons randomly vanish and whatever surviving humans looked relieved before they too vanished.. the signs of destruction faded away and a peaceful meadow slowly grew around Dark.
Inukai's base illusion would help bring things that would made Dark relaxed or happy come out, be it friends or an old pet. Meanwhile the demon was still feeding off the nightmare, but even once he finished he planned on continuing the illusion till Dark woke.

Dark was in the midst of burning a demon when its body seemed to have diminished in another form. The world around him shifted, faded and grew anew.

He didn't realize it but he was already standing in a grassy terrain. Everything felt...odd. Different..what had happened? The earth tremored slightly to his confusion before he heard a familiar voice call out from behind him. And he turned.

"What are you doing here, Clown?" Dark asked, his voice foreign even to himself, mixing in with uncertainty. Before long a couple of others appeared, and he was turning to look at each one..and they were all looking at him before talking each other. What they were talking about he couldn't make clear?

Dawn had disappeared and reappeared elsewhere, leaving Dark in a daze. "...." He shifted his feet, the air shrugging as well. Something was wrong and he knew it..but couldn't figure out what it was.

Dark stirred outside his sleep, fiddling with the mane since it was the only thing that it was touching. His body was action on its own whilst his head rolled to the side with an unpleasantness.

He was around others: Chimpo, Dawn, Ecks, Bebo, Ruen, and they were all talking. No words could be heard but he could see his lips moving as well as his friends.

The meadow had been replaced with what seemed to be a place, almost similar to Sanctum. There was one tower in the building, but the structure was similar to any other modern kind, unlike the marble structures of Sanctum.

They were standing in some sort of roof top upon one building, and he was standing somewhere. Everyone's movements were imaginary..languid..it made him uncomfortable. His friends made him uncomfortable..

His friends suddenly disappeared and Dark was pressing his hands on the fence bordering the rooftop, his fingers tangled into the gaps.

"Dark.." A female voice called out, and Dark closed his eyes. That was the only sound that came out..and one he didn't want to hear. He gripped tightly at the fence. The sound never came again, but he could see feminine lips moving, calling out to him.

The sky blackened, and the dream grew dark and cloudly.

Inukai finished absorbing the dream right around when Dark was fiddling with his mane, the demon slowly pulled away because he thought that Dark would be fine for a little while. Now that he had his energy replenished he focused on the image he'd conjured on the flight over here. The mist formed around him and stayed a few moments longer then the other times, this time when the mist faded his form was much better.
He looked to be in his 20s with wild black hair, what seemed to be a loose leather coat, pants and boots, his left hand was normal and gloved while the right was normal too except it had talons, but at a glance it seemed like the talons were attached to the glove. His ears were slightly pointed and he still had wings, but for now he was pleased with how it turned out.
Once he'd finished he checked on Dark to find that he managed to turn the illusion into another nightmare. Inukai focused on what was bothering Dark and distorting the face that haunted him into an old looking tree with wind making it's branches creak.
With the clouds he did something he did with kids that had bad dreams about storms..he made it rain puppies and candy...the demon wondered if that was a bit too strange for Dark and wondered if he should wake him up or not..he kinda looked like he needed sleep, but wasn't sure if this was restful.. He'd have to ask Dark what actually calmed him instead of taking risks.

Dark once again shifted as his dreams kept changing from one thing to another. From memories, to nightmares that were not of his own and things that felt from foreign fantasy. It didn't scare him but heavily disturbed him. Over time the dogs and candy seemed to be falling from a whirling fire in the sky..one he recognized all too well. And just like how apocalyptic end an explosion formed from the distance and released a heavy wave of fire that blighted the land clean and dry, and consumed him..

It was then he was beginning to wake up, the drizzle of rain pelleting his face being the first to cause him to crack open his eyes. "..It's raining.." He muttered and shifted. He had slouched in a lazy position during his sleep despite the disturbia. Everything before hand came little by little, and he looked around. "..Inukai?.." He called. "..The hell did you do? weren't you supposed to eat on my dreams?"

The demon felt the changes in Dark's dreams again and sighed, looking at the sky as it started to rain, then looked back at Dark as he woke. "This one did eat your dream...and also tried to give you a pleasant illusion as a replacement, but your mind kept changing whatever I did to unpleasant things.."
His voice was as solid as any other person instead of the echoy voice that he made with his illusions in his non-human forms.
Inukai tilted his head as he looked at Dark, wondering if he was alright or if the demon should have woken him earlier.
"Do you always have such dreams?" he asked, slightly worried about Dark's mental state if things like that were common for him.

"..U-um.." He stammered, rubbing the bridge of his nose, the dreams suddenly flashing through his head rather vividly. The ending wasn't the greatest.. "Sometimes..when I'm able to dream."

The rain was already beginning to pour on his head, bringing down past his eyes. Rather uncomfortable even.. "But I haven't had a dream like that in a long time.." <******** my head hurts.. But it was making sense now. It was rather unusual that he would remember his dream, but now that he recalled all the strange events and having Inukai explain, all the strange events and alterations it crystal clear.

He turned to look at the demon, blinking at its human form. "Haah..girls would fall for you." He chuckled, "Not that I'm gay. It's just common knowledge..females nowadays are ******** stupid.." It took him a little longer to notice the concern in Inukai's eyes and he just sighed, making a stand and dusting his a** off the dirt. "How's it feel? You're new body."

Inukai quietly listened to Dark, then tilted his head in a confused manner at the comment about girls falling for him, not understanding what that meant. "Females would fall? Is this not a good appearance then?" he asked.
He watched as Dark got up and dusted himself off, then got up too and opened his wings, one curved over his own head and the other arched over Dark. Inukai thought about Dark's last question, "Well, it's very different..and strange to walk on two legs with no tail for balance either. This one always has been curious as to how you keep yourselves from falling over.." he said as he looked at his hand and flexed his fingers.
The demon was glad he'd kept his wings otherwise things would feel completely awkward and he wouldn't want to keep a human form for very long.

He should have expected such an answer. Inukai was a demon and not the kind who would know about females or that kind of department. So he brushed the subject off with a dismissive wave to end the topic.

"Oh, thanks.." Dark muttered as one of Inukai's wind moved above him. It was pretty gay, and he didn't mind getting wet but he figured not to worry about it.

A loud clap of thunder cracked at the air, and the wind began to blow at speeds that neared forty miles an hour. This was dangerous weather. Even for someone who liked to take walks in the rain it was unsettling him.

He loosened the headband around his head as Inukai spoke, taking a glance to see the demon experiment with its body. "We've done this for two millenniums, if not more so we're used to it. If people ask how you demons can walk on four legs you would probably say it's easier. For us..it's harder. Our legs are longer than our arms so walking proves..a task." How would he know? Well, he's tried it before out of curiosity. Far too difficult.

Dark let his gaze fall to the ground, seeing the mud hop everytime the rain fell upon it while the feeling of being watched caused his entire body grow tense.

"..Come on, Inukai. Lets get out of the rain." He stepped out from beneath of Inukai's wing, letting the rain fall on him once more.

He was still a bit curious about the comment about girls, but since Dark dismissed the subject Inukai did as well, figuring he would learn more about things like that once he became more social.
As Dark spoke of the differences between demons and people Inukai listened and tilted his head, giving a slight look of pity, "Indeed...such a shame about your arms, it's nice to run freely on four legs." he said while following Dark's gaze to the ground, the rain was starting to hurt his wings so when Dark stepped out from under his wing Inukai drew his wings back and kept them tight against his back.
"Do you know a place that we could take shelter around here? Flying right now would not be a good idea.." He asked as he looked at the sky, the demon's own form handled the rain much better while his new human form.
Inukai noticed as Dark tensed for some reason, the demon was learning all the new feelings that a human had so his senses were still not fully alert, he was going to rely on Dark to sense any threat till he got everything straight.

"Mmm.." There was always his home. Not the best structure but he could fix that. "Yeah. Same place as last night.." He replied, walking up a steep structure of stone. The rain made it pretty slick, but he focused his aura so that he could walk upon the surface without much hassle. The only thing that proved difficult was the heavy wind.

When he reached the top of the hill he turned and looked back to see if Inukai was doing well. "You doing alright?" He asked, dipping his hands into his pockets.

This weather is disturbing.

Mayor.. Dark replied in somewhat of suprise. He even turned away from Inukai so that he could have his mental conversation. Hey, can you overlook Sanctum real quick? See if it's alright?

This is the first time you ask that. Do you feel something? Dark nodded, using his silence to answer. But that's the thing..I can't. Something's blocking me. I didn't think that was possible..Hmm..alright, but if anything comes up, don't forget to tell me.

"...Hmm..You holding up, Inukai?" Dark called after a crack of thunder shrugged the air. He didn't even turn to see if he was behind him.

Inukai nodded when Dark answered, then followed him as he led the way. The demon slipped a little as he went up the stone, but he caught himself, after nearly falling he crouched low and used his one clawed hand for a little support. He was still a few feet from the top when Dark asked if he was alright, but something else got Dark's attention so he didn't say anything and finished getting to the top.
As Dark asked again Inukai pushed his hair from his eyes, slightly irritated at the feeling of wet hair, "..this one is..'holding up' fine." the demon was fine, just annoyed at several things about his human form...like lack of claws on their feet.. "Is something wrong?" He asked, wondering what had caught his attention a few moments ago, but guessing that it wasn't anything was an immediate threat since he didn't really shift into a defensive stance or anything.

"Hmm..it's nothing. It's just the storm." Dark replied, finally turning around to look at the demon. "It seems to be that it's harder for you to walk. Don't worry, you'll get used to it." He assured the demon as he continued down the now slickened path.

There were hardly any muddy paths, at least near where they were. They would often have to climb the ruggged terrain and beware of falling. If anything it would be nothing lethal. To those steep walls that couldn't be walked on Dark leapt to the next, but paused when he came face to face with the mouth of a cave. He could see within it, noticing that it split into a fork within thirty feet. "Hmm..or this could work, too." He muttered, taking a couple of steps inside.

The clouds that rolled over them and showered them made the night darker than it should, but lit whenever lighting flashed. It was cold in the cave, and he could very well see his own breath in front of him every time he breathed. His skin tightened on itself, and he felt his heart beat pick up on its own. Human nature was taking affect and growing suddenly afraid, but another nature of him kept him from showing it. His steps echoed as he continued forward but stopped and turned so that he wouldn't leave Inukai behind. "You aren't scared of dark and cold caves are you?" Dark asked, a teasing grin plastered on his lips.

Inukai sighed lightly and nodded at what Dark said, the demon didn't mind storms usually but this one was starting to get to him, though he was summing that up to how it was making his human form feel. He followed Dark at a more careful pace, but he was managing alright considering the conditions, the less then desirable weather and slippery footing.
The demon managed to catch up when Dark paused to examine a cave and and quickly stepped in after Dark, "This one doesn't fear caves.." he said as he involuntary shivered a bit and rubbed his arm as he glanced back out at the storm. "Do all humans get cold this easily?" Inukai asked, he'd been through worse, but his fur had kept him warm even when wet.
He tried to get extra water from his hair and also flapped his wings a bit to get water off of them too before it got absorbed into the feathers, though he was careful not to further soak Dark as he did so.
