It took Kevarian a moment, but he bought Quin's excuse and settled down. It was probably hard for him to adjust to a new language, even after all this time. It was odd, since Kevarian had never heard of another wolf in Quin's situation, but understandable. The older wolf's assurance helped calm him somewhat as well, since he was sure that anything he had said up to this point would be kept quiet. The last thing he needed was Kalain to hear that his son was losing it. He'd think something magical was involved, and when he realized it wasn't-- when he had discovered everything else about Kevarian's troubles-- he would just brush him off with that quiet, resigned look as a lost cause.

Kevarian found himself staring at the tree, silently contemplating the way everything could go wrong if his words left the shrine. It wouldn't occur to him, until hours later, that Quin had been there for a reason but Var had never really asked what troubles he was having that made him visit the tree.

The adolescent pushed himself to his feet. He should get back to Mu'sha, see if she had anything else to teach him for the day, or if she needed help. There was no reason to linger at the tree, since he had said everything he was going to say for the moment.

"Thank you."

Quin wasn't quite sure what to say to the thanks - he didn't feel like he had done anything except be reasonable but, on the other paw, he didn't want to dismiss it as that might suggest he was saying what Kevarian thought was of little importance. He settled for an "I'm glad we talked, Kevarian" and a small, attemptedly reassuring smile.

After another moment, just as the adolescent got to his feet, Quin added "and... if you wish to talk again..." he left the sentence open, the invitation in his tone saying the rest. Somehow, despite the fact that Var had interrupted his 'meditation' Quin felt better than he had before the young male arrived.

It was perhaps a sign of maturity or maybe just a sign that his mind was becoming more settled from his troubled, youthful days, but whatever it was, Quin decided he didn't feel the need to stay at the Shrine any longer, for today.
