Arabeth sat in near invisibility between two noisy Gryffindor twins. She continued to nibble on her potatoes, emanating a 'Don't come near me' aura. The twins talked back and forth, but hardly even realized that Arabeth was sitting between them.

"How did you do that?", said the girl sitting directly across from him at the table. He hadn't noticed her there because like him, she hadn't said a word the entire evening. The sudden voice startled him enough to look up. Sitting in front of him was a ravenhaired oriental girl. Tomas shook his head, "I'm sorry. Do what?" She giggled, "The drawing." "Oh! Well its really quite simple." He flipped the page over to the blank side. He made a stray mark with his quill. "You just concentrate and . . ." He touched the stray mark on the page. It then began to move and shift. Pulling apart where it needed and after a moment a completed sketching of the ravenclaw coat of arms had replaced the stray mark. ". . . and the magic does the rest. I read about this in a book about enchanting paintings." He let out a sigh. "Its an interesting enchantment but it takes all the joy out of the art." He looked up at the girl and touched the drawing again. The art shifted into a elegantly script message, My name is Tomas Findeler. He then slid the page over to her. "Give it a try." She took out her wand. "Remember to concertrate" , he reminded her. She closed her eyes and touched the message. The drawing did as Rivell expected, the message was changed to read, My name is Connie Cho. but the writing was poorly wirtten and crooked. She opened her eyes to look at the page. The disappointment was obvious. Tomas took the page. "Don't worry, it's tough to master. Not unlike the real thing I suppose. In fact, I believe practiced hands create a practiced mind when it comes to the easel." He smiled, "Its a pleasure to meet you. . ." He glanced at the page. ". . . Connie Cho" "Likewise, Tomas Findeler" she returned.

Hermione's head snapped up at the word knowledge "Really? Exactly where have you been if you dont mind my asking" She had an excited smile on her face. Kristophe chuckled "Dont mind Hermione, she likes to know things, knowledge is her game, shes the smartest witch in school hands down" Hermione flushed at the praise "Please Kristophe, Im not that smart..." Kristophe smirked "Forgot to mention shes modest in a way too" this earned another flush, Harry and Ron having a laugh over it.
As for Fred and George, they knew she was there. Really they werent intimidated by her aura, which was why they were sitting so close to begin with unlike most around them who had scooted away a few inches from the girl. Now they went about tossing a muffin over her head. Their third attempt to get her attention. She seemed so gloomy to them, they wanted to see if she could smile.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Thats a pretty name, I dont have any other names to go by" Luna smiled airily "Unless of course you count being called Looni" Niyne rose a brow. He was between the two groups, listening to both sides. He knew both girls though doubted they knew him even if they were in the same house. He stayed away from most people because he looked different. Really, what normal person had lavender eyes. Hed been teased about it often enough to keep his distance from even his own housemates. It wasnt until the inked bird landed in front of him that he made any sort of movement, raising a brow at it.
Tomas glanced over. He heard a few people remarking on a inked bird. He glanced over to see the lavender eyed boy looking it over as it fluttered around his papers and book covers. "I appologize about that. I never know who's page itll end up on. Once it flys out of view its anyones guess." He then double tapped his wand on the origonal side of his page and the bird was summoned back to its place on the drawing. "The names Tomas. by the way." he said with a slight wave. "Tomas Findeler."
Brandy didnt actually like getting all this attention from someone who was so well known. So when the bird began flying about she used the oppurtunity to switch the girls attention. "Yes I suppose it is." she whispered shyly. "But look!" she got a louder this time pointing to the bird on the boys page. but when she looked over her attention was caught by the boy's eyes. "Your eyes are gorgeous." she said without even realizing she'd said it out loud.
Tomas cocked an eyebrow at Brandy's sudden statement, but took note of the eyes as well. "Yeah, I've never seen anyone with lavender eyes before. Whats the story?" Tomas remarked, he had now taken an empty seat closer to the conversation, finding the mystery to intruiging to pass up. Fisch was now forced to take perch on Tomas' shoulder while he moved, but the lazy cat climbed back down to his lap once he was settled.
Alister chuckled, smiling. "No worries, Hermoine... I've spent time in much northern climates then this... And some Asian areas. But for the most part I stayed near Durmstang..." He said with a simple smile and a shrug. In the far northern areas, they had different names for magic... As well as in Asia. It was rather interesting actually, he wouldn't have minded having a conversation on this.
Arabeth bit her lip and turned to Fred on her left. She opened her mouth to speak, but froze, not wanting to offend anyone. She turned back to her book on History of the Wizarding World. There was no way that she could bother either of the interesting, but completely attractive, redheaded twins.
He rose a brow at Brandys outburst before looking to Tomas "There is no story behind it, I was born this way...says my mother anyway" He shrugged "What about you? Your cat always at the table with you?" It was mere curiosity, he had to see any other pet at the table, and delivery owls didnt count either. Speaking of which here they come now. Like Harry he too had a snowy owl, though unlike Harrys his was male and named Apollo. He held up his arm, the large bird landing on his arm almost gently, a largish but flat package hanging from its feet which he took "thank you Apollo though I cant imagine what mother sent me this time..." He sighed.
Opening the package, which had been enchanted to lightness for Apollo until destination was reached, was a large hardcover book filled with blank pages and lined pages on each side.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"y'know miss if we're botherin' you-" "feel free to tell us, we-" "wont be offended or anythin'" The twins grinned, hoping she would respond. They had seen her about to respond but couldnt understand why she hesitated and didnt. A challenge to them indeed. they focused their attention on her now. "My names Fred-" "And im George" They grinned speaking at the same time now "Pleasure to meet you miss....whats your name?"
"Really?" Hermione sat with rapt attention, always interested "What did you study while there? I can only imagine that the learning material may be a bit different from what they teach here?" Kristophe had settled comfortably, listening to the two talk about knowledgeable things that he himself had only some interest in.

"Oh. I'm Arabeth. Nice to meet you." She spoke a bit awkwardly, trying not to offend either Fred or George. "Um, what year are you?"

Alister chuckled. "Definitely... The magic tends to take on the culture of the area... Like in Asia, a lot of their magic seems a bit more secretive... Or it's based off of religion." He said, looking thoughtful. "Farther north... They value physical strength and endurance, because of such harsh climates... Most of their magic is used to affect the nature around them... Or to boost traits from their own selves." He looked up as he heard a familiar owl call, his bar owkl landing lightly on his shoulder. "Well Hello angel... Is that from Mum...?" He asked the owl, taking the letter from the gorgeous owl and giving her a treat.

"Oh, you mean Fisch" The cat had awoken and was watching all the owl deliver the mail. His feline instinct caused him great intrest in the owls but he knew he had no chance of making a meal out of one. "I used to leave him in the common room, but never fail he'd find his way back to whatever class I was in at the time. I eventually gave up. Its easier to hide him if he with me." The cat lost interest as the owls began to thin out, and began cleaning himself. "He's really smart for a cat, I wonder sometimes. Say hello Fisch." The cat walked on the table top over to Brandy and Ninye begging to be pet. "His favorite spot is under his chin."

Brandy saw the look the lavender eyed boy gave her and her hand flew to cover her mouth. Her cheeks flushed, "Forgive me, I didnt mean to upset you...it just kinda came out." she was about to avert her eyes back down to the table when she saw Nesrin fly in. He was an auburn speckled Barn owl with eyes the color of candle light. He brought a small note that simply read, We miss you dear, hope your happy at Hogwarts, Love Mom and Dad . She felt slightly hurt but tried to make excuses for them in her mind. They've been busy. Grandpa is sick. As she thought of these she stroked Nesrin absent mindedly who was now perched on her shoulder. She was so caught up in her own thoughts she didnt even notice the cat.

The cat recieved a gentle touch from several of the Ravenclaw students who hadn't already retired to the common room. Fisch noticed Brandy's abandon and only persited to her more. "Fisch! Leave her alone, you beast of burden." The cat gave Tomas his attention immediatly and reluctantly pranced back to him, looking back at Brandy a few times. He threw a smile her way. "Sorry, Brandy? Was it? He can be a glory hog at times."
