@ Welcome Home @ [Prompt Entry]Enosio Eleison had long since grown tired of being alone. He wasn't too keen on getting close to anyone in a romantic sort of way, and he couldn't manage to keep even just one friend for very long... So why had he decided that he could rear a child? Eno asked himself that question as he signed his name on the last line of the adoption papers. "That's all...?" He looked up, red eyes studying the woman behind the counter quietly. "Indeed, and here he is right now." She nodded and then pointed to the side where a little boy had emerged from seemingly nowhere.
Eno stared at him for a moment, he seemed awfully small to not have any parents... That was why he was adopting a child. He knew what it was like to not have anyone to lean on, so he'd decided one day that he'd provide that to some small child. "Hello..." He stepped closer to the little boy, who stared up at him with somewhat wanting eyes.
Eno glanced back to the desk, the woman had gone, leaving him and the boy alone. "Do you have a name?" He asked as he turned his gaze back to the boy. "Nuh-uh." The kid shook his head. "Oh... uhm.." Eno hadn't prepared a name or anything.. He expected a child of this age to have a name already.
He was disturbed from his thoughts as he felt a tug at his pants. He looked down to see the boy clinging to his pant leg lightly, still bearing the needy look on his face. "Lets go home and we can pick a name together... Like on a naming site or something..." Eno picked the boy up with a little difficulty as he wasn't the strongest guy around.
"Wassis?" The boy grabbed at the necklace around Eno's neck as they started to leave. "Oh.. It's a bottled cloud. The person who gave it to me said they got it from a nimbus cloud." Eno looked down at the tiny glass bottle that was tied around his neck with a simple black string. "Do you want it?" He turned his gaze to the boy who simply undid the jar and opened it up. "Oh don't do that the cloud'll get away."
Eno spoke too late, whatever it was in that jar caused the boy in his arms to light up with a blinding light. Eno nearly dropped him as he yelped, immediately shutting his sensitive eyes. "What the h---" he stopped himself, it wasn't proper to curse in front of a child...
The child, whereas before had been relatively plain, now had bright blue eyes and his skin had adopted a gray tone. His hair remained white though, but it seemed to have lost all pigment whereas before it had a tiny hint. "Well... that was..." Eno blinked a few times, confused.
"C'n go home now?" The boy frowned a little and wrapped his arms around Eno's neck. "Sure... and... I think we should call you River. Your eyes look a lot like river water now." Eno shrugged, it was the best he could come up with.

@ Rainy Day @ [Roleplay Entry]River climbed up onto the couch and stared out of the front window, watching as the raindrops outside hit the ground and made a rippling effect in the growing puddles. "Hey Dadda, can I go play in the puddles?" He looked back over his shoulder at Enosio who was lighting a fire in the fireplace just a few feet away.
The albino man looked up and squinted out of the window to see how much rain was coming down. "After the rain lightens up. You'll get sick if you go out right now." He shook his head and returned to his task. "Aww...." River turned and plopped himself down the right way on the couch with a pout.
"Don't give me that face, River..." Eno cracked a small smile and stood up, having successfully lit the fire. "Go pick a book, I'll read to you 'til the rain lets up." He made his way over to the couch and sat down. River immediately scrambled off of it, nearly falling to the floor. "Can we snuggle too!?" He grinned widely, running for the nearest bookshelf. "Of course, we always snuggle." Eno shook his head with a small laugh and then laid himself out so that when River returned the boy could lie down on top of him.
"I like rainy days." River crawled on top of Eno and then settled down on his back, that way he could see the pictures in the book while Eno read. "So do I, River..." Eno smiled and then opened the book and started to read.

@ Meeting Hayden and Asu p.1 @ [Playdate Entry]
"Dadda, can we go play today?" River prodded at Enosio's side lightly. Eno rolled over a bit to stare at River with a sleepy gaze. "River it's early..." He complained lightly. "Dadda it's noon! I c'n read the clock." River pouted lightly, puffing out his lower lip. Eno had been sleeping all day and not only was River bored, he was hungry. "An' I'm hungry..." He added just to make sure that Eno would get up.
"Fine fine... lets eat and then I'll take you to the park." Eno yawned widely and then sat up slowly, blinking his sleepy red eyes. "You're lucky it's my day off today, y'know." He smiled a bit and then shuffled out of the bedroom and into the kitchen to make sandwiches for their lunch."Look Dadda ther's alreddy somewun here!" River pointed excitedly to the playground where Hayden was playing. "Yeah... Are those wings?" Eno narrowed his eyes curiously. He'd never seen a kid with wings before, but he figured it wasn't any weirder than his tail and ears... "Go on an play.. I'll be right here." Eno released River's tiny gray hand and then went to sit on another bench, not with Asu. He'd noticed that there wasn't anything abnormal about her at least on the outside, which meant she was probably human and therefore, not trustworthy.
River nodded and toddled over to the playground, where he attempted to climb up one of the sides. "Who dares trespass on my pirate ship!?" Hayden leaped down to where River was trying to climb up and stared at him, a growing smirk on his face. "P-Pirate ship?" River froze in place, eyes going wide with fear. "I-I jus' wanna p-play..." He sniffled a little, tears starting to gather in his eyes. Hayden stared at the kid for a second, having not expected that reaction. "Well then get up here 'n you can be my first mate." Hayden reached down to haul River up the rest of the ladder.

@ Meeting Hayden and Asu p.2 @ [Playdate Entry] "What's yer name, kid?!" Hayden immediately resumed the personality of a Pirate as soon as River was up on the platform with him. "R-River.... w-what's yours?" River stared at Hayden confusedly, having no idea what he was doing. He looked back to his dad for reassurance, but Enosio was distracted by a flock of birds that had gathered at his feet. "Hayden. CAPTAIN Hayden. We're gonna go raid that village over there!" Hayden pointed to the playground for the little kids with a big grin. "But that's a playground..." River stared at the targeted place, now even more confused.Hayden let out an exasperated sigh and rolled his eyes. "It's PRETEND. Haven't you ever played pretend?" He frowned, giving River another look over. What kid didn't know what playing pretend was? "O-oh!" River exclaimed suddenly as it finally clicked. "I never played pretend wif a nudder person b'fore." He grinned, starting to get excited. "Yer weird." Hayden laughed a little and shook his head. "OKAY, man the sails!" He barked the order and then ran across the play bridge to stand on the highest point. River remained in place for a second, unsure of where the sails were. He decided to cling to the tallest pole he could find for the time being. "The storms too strong Cap'n!" He shouted back, which made Hayden look back at him with a serious expression. "WELL, we'll have to beat the storm into submissin!" He replied loudly.Enosio looked up from the flock of birds, mildly alarmed at the mention of beating something into submission. What were they playing? He eyed Hayden with suspicion, but his attention was turned away when Asu appeared at his side. "They're playing pirates." She announced with a smile. "I'm Asu, by the way. What's your name?" She offered him a hand. Enosio stared at her hand for a moment before briefly taking it, shaking it and then letting go in one fluid motion. "Enosio." He replied quietly. Now that she was closer he noted that her ears had a bit of a point to them, but not enough to warrant a doubt as to her species. "Pleasure to meet you Enosio." Asu nodded her head a bit and then turned her gaze back to the children, noting that Eno didn't seem to be very social.Eventually Hayden and River grew tired and wanted to go home, so by decision of Hayden, their parents exchanged phone numbers so they could play again at a later date.

@ Father's Day @ Eno had gone to work, despite the fact that it was not only his day off, but also Father's Day. That left River with his babysitter for awhile, but she never really kept track of him seriously. He was a pretty good kid, after all.
"Hey Jen, what's today?" River peered up at Jen from the ground. She was sitting on the couch, browsing the tv channels for something good to watch. "It's the 21st, Father's Day." She replied without even looking down at him. She never did... sometimes she'd remark to her friends when they talked on the phone that his gray skin creeped her out.
"Father's Day?! But Dadda's not home!" River gasped in what sounded like horror before he pushed himself up and toddled into the next room. He then climbed onto Eno's computer chair, crawled onto the desk and then pulled some paper out of the printer. Eno always said not to climb on the desk or his chair, but he'd lie and say that Jen got it for him if Eno asked.
He crawled down again and then toddled to the shelf where Eno put his crayons. Unfortunately he'd moved them up really high after he'd drawn on the walls in Eno's closet, so River couldn't reach them. He sighed, and then looked around for something to stand on.
Well, there was nothing near by, so he went back to the computer chair and rolled it into the room. After positioning it in the right spot, he climbed onto it and then stood up slowly. Eno's computer chair was the swivel kind, so he had to be careful. He grabbed his box of crayons and then got down again. He then grabbed the paper and then went to the kitchen table to draw Eno a card, since that's what you gave to people on holidays, right?
When Eno finally came home, River had put the crayons and the chair back where they belonged and had rejoined Jen in front of the tv so as to look perfectly normal. "I'm sorry I was gone so long Jen... here's the payment. I'll see you later then." Eno already had her payment in hand, which he held out to her as soon as he entered the house. He was never too keen on letting her stick around too long after he'd gotten home, and made it perfectly clear that he didn't even like having her there at all to begin with, as if doing that would make her work harder to prove herself. No, it just made her slack off.
"Lookit Dadda, I made y'card." River turned around to pull the paper out from under the couch and held it up for Eno to see. "Oh, you did... thank you River." Eno sat down on the floor next to the toddler and took the paper from him with a smile. "This makes the day all better. How 'bout we skip having a normal dinner and just have milkshakes?" Eno grinned, looking over to River for approval. River of course, clapped his hands together excitedly. "Yeah! I want fudge in mine!" He hopped up and ran into the kitchen before Eno could even get to his feet.

@ Overnight Change @ [Roleplay Entry]
"Dadda!"
"Yes River?" Eno looked up from his book to see River standing in his doorway, wearing clothes that were entirely too small for him. No... that wasn't in... River had gotten entirely too big for the clothes, the boy was a lot taller than he was the day before.
"My clothes don't fit!" River entered the room, a worried expression plastered over his face.
"I see that... uhm..." Eno got off of his bed, and then rooted around in his dresser. "This won't fit very well, but it'll be good enough until we can get to the store." Eno handed the child a black shirt and a pair of black shorts. Not at all what River would normally wear, but Eno generally dressed in black.
"Thanks Dadda..." River sighed in relief and retreated from the room to go change.

@ Big Kid @ [Diary Entry]
When I woke up this morning I was a lot bigger! Dadda says I'm a kid now, not just a toddler. Like Ask! I have wings now, but not as many as Ask has. Mine are white and blue, like a cloudy day. I'm excited, I can't wait to see Ask and Isolde! I bet Isolde got bigger too!
OH! Dadda got me a little brother, his name is Zahur. He's real nice, I wonder if he'll grow up soon too?

@ Changing Ideas @ [Diary Entry]
Since I've been taking lots of classes at school, I've been learning a lot about the world and what people believe and stuff and... I'm not sure if I believe in heaven. I know, it's kind of ridiculous for an angel to not believe in heaven, but... who says angels have to come from heaven? Not all demons are bad, so surely that means not all angels are good. And heaven says that all angels are good.
I don't think I can believe in something so clean cut like that. I haven't told Dadda about this, since I know it's a sensitive thing. Come to think of it, I don't know what Dadda believes. I know he thinks humans are bad and we shouldn't associate with them too much.
Well, I guess I should stop thinking about stuff so much and try to get out there and meet some fellow students. It's lonely being by myself.

☁ What was in that drink? ☂ I was in the cafeteria yesterday because I was hungry, and there were these new drinks in the fridge. There weren't any names on them so I drank one with my sandwich but.. it made me feel all funny so I went back up stairs and took a nap.
Now I'm bigger again! I don't have any clothes that fit. My wings got bigger, too... maybe I can fly now? I don't know... I guess I should call dad and ask him if he'll take me shopping for new clothes. I think I should be excited, but I'm not...
I haven't seen any of my friends so it's not like I have anyone to be excited with. This sucks.

☁ I don't understand ☂ I...
I don't understand what happened.
Is it because I moved out and he didn't get to learn from me while he was still little? is it because I didn't understand his way of play and just sort of... sat there?
Dad blames himself, he's... a little hysterical right now. I packed up some clothes and stuff and I'm staying at the house right now so I can watch him. I don't want him to do anything reckless... What happened, Zahur?
Why, why did you do that? I understand that you thought your friend was hurt, or dying, or maybe even dead but.. you should have called us first... Dad and I would have dropped what we were doing.
We still love you. It just feels like.. we don't even know who you are anymore.
I heard that you're rooming with the friend you saved. I hope he understands, and is nice to you. I know that everyone else will think that you're a monster, and blame you for everything. They probably don't know about everything that happened that led up to the event. We're not suppose to leave campus now, I'm sure that's all they're thinking about.
It does suck. A lot... I already got weird looks because of my skin and wings, but now... I'm... I'm scared to leave, even on an outing with an adult. One adult doesn't seem like enough to protect us. I haven't met any of them, but still...
Dad doesn't want me to go on any outings. He insisted that he'll get anything we need himself while he's at work. The Elders told him he would be free to come and go as long as he gave them his work schedule. but...
Dad works his other job sporadically. He never knows when he's going to have to do it. I wish he'd quit, it just makes him miserable, and Zahur and I don't even live in the house anymore so he doesn't have to worry about so much. I wonder if I could ask the Elders if they would give him something to do on campus, so he wouldn't have to work for the that awful man anymore.
It just seems like everything is getting worse and worse.

☀ Better Days ϟ Well, stuff is kind of getting better? Zahur and his friend stayed in lockdown for a long time, and it was getting kind of bad... So Avon offered a sort of like... reset button. He got them both infected with that disease that causes us to revert to a younger stage and wipes our memory clean, so now everything is... like it never happened.
At least for Zahur.
Dad is still shaken up over it, and he's nervous about letting Zahur go anywhere unsupervised, but I think it'll be okay... He's still same Zahur from what I hear though... I haven't gotten a chance to go home.
Also apparently I have a sister? Dad said her family changed their minds and she was left without a place to go, so when Avon asked him to take her in, Dad said yes. He says she's really quiet, but different from Zahur. Hopefully I can meet her soon.
I met someone new, too. Her name's Nadia. She's um... really... pretty.
Yeah. Pretty.
And nice, too. yeah. uh... yeah.
Stuff's getting better.
