"Ah, it's good to be out traveling again." Michael said with a sigh as we walked out of his home town and started heading towards the nearest port town, Aessea. He was looking forward to this and was even thinking about traveling into the more unknown parts of Ugania, but first he wanted to start where all new trainers start and relive his days of youth. I wonder if I'll be noticed as a gym leader by any of them, I'd rather not be bombarded by questions from any fans...if I have any. Michael smiles at this last part, knowing fully that he has sent away many trainers over the past few years. They were too weak and didn't even bother with strategy or finding out their opponent's weaknesses. Only one trainer has ever beaten me without bothering with strategy or attacking the weaknesses and he payed for it when he met the Elite Four. He continues walking down the forest trail and looks up to the night sky. It's too bad you can't see the stars like this everywhere and every night.

The hardworkingTrainer Kazune walked slowly toward a man who seems to be staring at the sky. This guy..... he is..... I've seen him in the magazines before. Oh that's right! The last gym leader of the region! It's Michael Blackwell! I can't believe it! He's RIGHT THERE! I want to go say to him! He was careful not to startle him nor bore him since he had been hearing that he won't waste his time with weaklings. As Kazune walked, he tried to looks as tough as possible. "Uh.... hello sir...uh err umm ahem, I mean good day. You seem 'unfamiliar'. Why don't we have a battle to see how great of a gym leader you a-, I mean....lets battle!" Bayleaf - Spheal - Venonat

Michael turned his gaze down to the boy in front of him and was slightly impressed by the way he tried to act but didn't like that he wasn't himself. "You were right when you said 'hello sir', considering it's night and morning is still hours from now." He locked eyes with the boy and stared down at him with a cold, uncaring glare. If he really knew who I was, then he wouldn't dare try to battle me. It'd be a suicide attempt, even if he didn't face Thanatos or Eseld. He releases his glare seconds later and speaks in a calm, yet firm enough, voice to deter the boy from fighting him. "You've probably read about me in magazines or seen me on TV, either way it doesn't matter. If you really wanted to face me, you wouldn't act as someone you're not and you would realize that my pokemon and skills are, at this time, superior to yours." Michael walked past the boy and headed further towards the port before stopping and sighing. "I am impressed that you had enough confidence to approach me though. Maybe one day you'll be able to face me in battle, but that won't be tonight."

The hardworkingTrainer Sweats were slowly dropping on Kazune's face as Michael spoke. "Uh, thank you very much sir. I appreciate the nice comment. I've heard you've beaten lots of trainers and maybe even shatter their dreams. Very hardcore! You've beaten lots of trainers, but how come you don't look so....happy." Kazune took a short pause making sure he wasn't talking nonsense. "It's just that you look so gloomy. Beating other trainers makes me smile, doesn't it do the same thing to you?" Michael sighs and let's out his Zaftneer, Thanatos, who shakes his head vigorously before looking up and, upon noticing Kazune, glares down at him. Michael puts his left hand on the Zaftneer's side and looks over at you again. "Beating trainers is my job, I have to test them and see if they're ready for the Elite Four. If they don't like the outcome, they might give up but that isn't my problem nor is it my fault. There is nothing 'hardcore' about destroying dreams." Michael pats Thanatos and hands him a piece of meat from his coat. The Zaftneer's attention almost instantly changing from the boy to the food.

The hardworkingTrainer Kazune understood the situation clearly. He felt sympathetic for those trainers that were discouraged. But his sympathy vanished when Michael sent out Thanatos. Kazune made a big gulping sound. "So...that's your Zaftneer hm? I've heard about it. I'm pretty amazed by it's ability." Kazune sends out his Bayleaf and rubs it's neck. "Not suprising, most people know about the Zafts and Zaftneers that live here and that they are often hard to train. Trained ones are rare because of this and most trained ones are Zafts and remain as Zafts as no one wants to find a host for it to evolve." A bored tone made its way into his voice. I should be leaving for the port now, I might miss my boat. Michael looked down at the Bayleef the boy had called out and returned Thanatos to his ball to prevent any mishaps. "Not that I really care, but where are you headed?"

Michael sighs as he thinks to himself. Great...I'm going to have a rookie trainer following me around until I get to Windrow City. Michael turned and started walking down to the port, not caring if the kid behind him heard what he said or not. "You'll be taking the same ship as me...so, for now, you may travel with me." He pauses for a second to watch his reaction and then adds to what he said. "This doesn't mean anything more than traveling to the ship. Once we dock again we will go our separate ways, understood?"

The hardworkingTrainer Kazune held a thumb up as he said "Understood." He returns Bayleaf back into his pokeball. Kazune followed Michael to the port. Oh I know! I should take advantage of this time to plan for a strategy or observe his battling strategy. That was I have a chance on beating at least one of his pokemon. Michael walked down the forested path until he saw a trainer ahead, one that seemed to have the confidence and skill to be a good challenge. Hmm...should I or should I not? ...I think I'll let the kid face him first. Michael turned to face the boy that was following him. "What's your name kid?" Michael made sure to stand in the boy's line of sight to keep him from seeing the trainer ahead.

"Right, be careful with letting people call you whatever they wish. It might not turn out the way you would like.' Michael thinks for a moment. I think one of my previous challenges mentioned his name after winning the match...might just be coincidence. He then turns to start walking again and stops. "Kazune, why don't you face this trainer up ahead. It'd give you the experience you greatly need." After saying that, Michael steps aside and waits for Kazune to pass and face the trainer. It's almost too easy nowadays.

The hardworkingTrainer Kazune nodds and sees the trainer up ahead. He walks up to him and chuckles. "Hey trainer. You seem pretty okay. Lets see who is stronger! And there's only one way to do that......a pokemon battle! Kazune reaches in his pocket for Venonat's pokeball to grab and takes it out and shows it in front of the trainer's face. "So lets batte!"
