Diesel reached automatically for her arm, stepping forward as he did, his sword going back into its sheath. His eyes searched hers "Don't go yet!" he stopped but his arm still reached for her "He was killed by something calling himself the 'God of Hueco Mundo'. He appears to be the new strongest being. And yes, I'm Soul King now but..." his hand, the one that wasn't outstretched to Io, clenched in to a fist "Ryuta is Head Captain. He's off doing Captainly things."

 Io slightly trembled when the hand touched her, "Ryuta is Head Captain! My little Ryuta brat is the leader of the soul society?" Her expression went blank, "I haven't been gone for just a few years have I Diesel?" Io's face sunk realizing that her life was truly limited and will one day be taken away from her permanently, "The God is a frightening being, Compared to Ex Captain Sosuke Aizen, Aizen would be nothing more than an unranked shinigami that can't even use shikai or kido."

Diesel stepped closer to her and took her other hand in his as well, gently stroking the fingers "Yeah but he still acts weird around me. You trained him well in his manners and I can't even get him to relax at all." he stared at her fingers as he held them and sighed "Yes. I'm sure this...'God' is very frightening but I'm not going to give him anything until I fight him myself." he released one of her hands and reached out to touch her face, his fingers gently tugging a lock of her hair "Don't look like that. A smile is always better suited to your face than a frown."

A small tear trickled down her cheek as she smiled, "What am I to do, I will be rejected by soul society and by Hueco Mundo for abandoning my duties there." Io reached in to hug Diesel only to realize she had no warmth to share with him. "Ryuta should have just followed orders and killed me instead of letting me live like this." She burried her face into Diesel's kosode as she clenched tight onto the cloth.

Diesel wrapped his arms around her, burying his head in her hair as she clung to him "Don't ever say that. He did what he thought was best and I, for one, can't be angry at him for it." he knew that Captain Topaz was nearby and it could become dangerous so he pushed himself back to look at her "Listen to me. I can't do anything about Hueco Mundo. I'm stranded here until we figure out what to do about that 'God' but if you come here and you need help...I'll protect you." Diesel took her face in his hands and bumped her forehead with his "You hear? You come to me, if you need me."

She smiled, "Thank you Diesel," She leaned in and kissed his cheek. "Where am I to live? Nothing here looks the same so I don't know where to go."

"I don't know. Its not like I have anywhere to live now either." Diesel released her and stepped back, a hand on his chin "Maybe you should stay in the human world for now. Its safer than here and safer than Hueco Mundo." he glanced again over to where Topaz stood and then turned back to Io "Everythings different now...but that doesn't mean things aren't still as they were."

Diesel watched her leave and sighed before turning to shunpo back to Topaz. He stood in front of her and took a deep breath "Captain Topaz, I want to make something very clear. Unless that woman turns up again while all the captains are present, you are not to mention seeing her." he leaned down to look her straight in the eyes "Do you understand me?"

"What aren't we supposed to know, now?", Sano inquired, heading to the courtyard himself just in time to overhear his Captain and the Royal Gaurd form some sort of secret agreement. He didn't really care though, be it some deadly secret or just some embarrasing incident to keep hushed. The Lieutenant simply took his place nearby as he waited for orders, lazily draped along the wall with little interest in the happenings.
Really, he wasn't looking forward to a day's worth of orders, but it beat training towards Bankai while Kou was in one of her moods. One could only really appreciate the full danger of Kou's anger if they were to visit her. At times like these, the machinistic covered in a spider's web would be a near-guarantee of a fatal injury. So long as Sano wasn't put into his inner world today, there weren't any complaints he could offer.

Diesel tilted his head at the voice and turned to face the boy "If you were supposed to know it you'd know it so whats the point of asking if you shouldn't know something you know you shouldn't know?" he countered, feeling grumpy. He wanted to speak with Ryuta but since he couldn't leave the society, he was stuck until Ryuta came back.

"Huh", he remarked, thinking for a second before shrugging, "I guess that makes things easier." Either way, the grump gaurd wasn't going to be helpful to him in almost any situation, so he headed past him, leaving his post to face his captain.
With a slight bow, Sano replied, "Morning, Cap'n. What are the orders for the day?" Nothing too fancy, or wild. Just how he felt that morning. Besides, the feeling that he was missing something important was somewhat disconcerting in a place like this.

Diesel raised an eyebrow and snickered at the way the lieutenant acted Wonder how he would act if he knew I was the Soul King as well as the Royal Guard Captain...I wouldn't mind seeing that. he thought with a whistle "Well, Topaz-san, I'm going to be heading out. Maybe check out the 4th squad...Anyway, thank you very much for showing me around your squad. I'll be seeing you." he tilted his head and walked off with a still whistling.
