RP Sample: (My Capability)
Watching the thin line of energy thrown at him, he sighed lightly. He was slightly offended when he realized that because the slash of reiatsu was so thin, it had barely any power behind it. Feeling the fluctuation behind him led him to assume that Maxi had shunpo'd behind him to attack, which was rather basic for someone that had been a Captain for quite some time. Iu shot up into the air with a massive jump to avoid the attacks from both sides. Iu felt semi-proud of himself with this dodge. His tactical knowledge had grown immensely since he was last in the Sereitei. It was to a point where he thought that even the socially awkward Captain of Squad 6 would be proud, though they didn't exactly know each other well, seeing as he became a Captain at the end of Iu's time as a Captain. That Captain was especially on his mind due to just learning of his own daughters engagement to the man, which slightly irked him. Living through a constant battle in Hueco Mundo, he knew all too well that things can go absurdly wrong if you don't think out exactly what you're doing. On many occasions, he found himself in a state of panic while being swarmed, but he never let it affect his judgment in battle. His warming thought of pride did not last long though.
Iu turned to look at his opponent while free-falling to the earth when suddenly, he felt a sudden burst of reiatsu erupted under him. Noticing that it was a fire based kidou being shot, he knew how to counter it. The problem was, he didn't have enough time to fire off a kidou to cancel it. Instead, Iu shot off a single shot of Hadou 33 into the on-coming kidou. The kidous clashed, but obviously the attack made by Iu wasn't enough to completely cancel it. However, it did weaken the attack quite a bit. The kidou hit Iu in the chest and his muscles tensed up immensely. A lightly toned black mark was on his chest as soon as the attack dispersed. A bit of steam rose from the mark, due to the immense amount of heat put into that kidou and its natural nature to fire. Iu panted quietly for a moment, then regaining himself and smiling. "It's a bit too hot for my tastes. I can't stand the heat, reminds me of things I would rather not ever think about again." His left hand reached up and his fingers went through his neon green hair. It was about time that Iu turned this fight into a rather serious matter. With Maxi's current expression, he could tell that he was not taking it very seriously. If he was as smart as he thought he was, he would take it seriously now. "Freeze to Death, Kuro Jigoku."
Iu's zanpaktou darkened as his reiatsu began to climb to its normal levels. His shikai was not too complex or flashy in any sense. It was however, very useful and Iu knew just how many ways he could use it. The guard of the zanpaktou began to sharpen and form black spikes, which pointed vaguely at Iu's hand. A chain dangled from the end of the hilt, which dawned a small charm that looked like a fragment of a Hollows mask. Iu's appearance did not change much, save for the now smoldering black mark that had been made by the Hadou his opponent shot at him. "I give that to you, your little invention intrigues me. I hope you still have the plans for it somewhere." His hand lowered from his head to his chest. Tapping the black circle that was put on his chest, a thin layer of ice covered over it. "Not really a healing technique. It's just a bit more comfortable than having that burning feeling in my chest." He smiled slightly, then returned to his serious nature. Iu didn't want to get hit by another one of those kidou. He knew that he couldn't take a bombardment of those damn things. It was, of course one of his own personal favorite kidous as well, but he was trying to break his nasty habit of overusing kidou.
His eyes opened from the narrow slant that they had been in since the fight had began. His glowing green eyes looked down at the ground for a moment. He had almost not even noticed he was on the ground alright, feeling rather light on his feet. Shunpoing back, he gained even more distance between them. However, he did not keep this distance. Instead, he shot forward again. Letting his blade trail behind him slightly. "Hibakufuu." With a speedy slash diagonally, he released a large slash of ice towards his opponent. As soon as the last particle of ice left his blade, he shot to the right with his blade at ready again. Slashing again, he let out an even larger slash of ice, this time focusing most of the shaping on height, where as the other one he sent out was wider and thicker. Finally, he stepped back once, then shunpo'd twice to gain more distance from Maxi. If the attacks did not reach their marks, then Iu wanted to be able to have enough time to retaliate to whatever came out at him. He was not about to lose this fight, nor was he going to distract himself against with feelings of pride and a sense of intelligence. This fight was far too important to let slide for any reason in this world, or any world for that matter.
