"Nope, not really...Was more surprised than hurt." Kay admitted. Yeah, he certainly felt it when she hit him, but it wasn't going to leave marks on him, not at all. By then he had pushed her to the ice cream truck, and had been watching her make her selection, his eye following her pointing finger to the rainbow-vanilla ice cream.
"I knew you'd get that one." Chuckling, he lightly shoved her aside with his elbow; what, she was in his way! And went to order their ice cream; two scoops of that rainbow stuff for Evari, and a butterscotch sundae for himself. Like a good boy he paid and handed Evari her ice cream, but like himself he started poking at her with his foot.
"C'mon, go find a place fer us ta sit. Go go go~"

Evari blinked and turned to stare at Kay when he said he knew she was going to get the rainbow ice cream. Oh dear...did that make her predictable? For some reason that kind of bothered her. Evari wasn't usually predictable, she wasn't quite sure how to feel about this! She didn't want people to be able to guess what she was going to pick or do for some reason, she liked giving that element of surprise. Huh...but...she really wanted that ice cream. Oh well, she'd just have to make up for this somehow. Whatever. Not like it was a big deal. Besides, Kay was already handing her the ice cream she wanted. She squealed with delight and nibbled at it, her eyes wide and her glow brightening. This was awesome! She'd never seen rainbow ice cream before! Was this what a rainbow tasted like? Pff, probably not.
"You can't tell me what t'doooooo." Evari sang, poking his cheek while he poked her with his foot. But she turned to walk toward a nearby picnic table anyway...because she wanted to not because he was telling her to find them a place to sit! Ha! Nope! Not doing what Kay told her, no way no how. Instead of sitting on the bench of the picnic table Evari carefully climbed on top to sit on the table itself with her feet on the bench, swaying and humming happily while she waited for Kay and licked at her ice cream. Oh! She was supposed to say something...what was Xai always bugging her to say? Oh, right. When he was sitting she leaned over to give him a kiss on the cheek, grinning. "Thanks, Kay~!" The kiss didn't mean anything, obviously. She kissed Faris on the cheek, right? And she was pretty sure she'd been kissed on the cheek by other people...maybe. Whatever. It was just a peck. Not like there was anything interesting about kissing. She returned her attention to her ice cream right after, glancing down at the bag Kay had been carrying this whole time. Oh! Right! He had candy. Oooh...
"We should try puttin' the candy on our ice cream!" Genius.

Kay just shrugged; he might not have been able to tell her what to do, but she was doing it anyway so there was no point in disputing her logic. Besides, whatever made her happy made him happy, and that was fine.
"Welcome~" Kay hummed out, a little grin forming on his lips from the brief kiss to his cheek. Heh, kisses were awesome. Even if they were just on the cheek! He wandered up to sit on the top of the table beside her, setting the bag on the other side of him. "Candy ON it?" Kay mused, staring down at the bag while poking his sundae with the spoon. "Hrm...might be tough, they're mostly chocolate but....OH!" Perking up with a wide grin, Kay set his sundae on his knee and dug around in the bag, pulling out a bag of sour patch kids, fuzzy peaches, and a brown bag of assorted gummies.
"Choose your poison!"

At Kay's question to her suggestion she nodded, licking carefully at her ice cream so it wouldn't fall over and also so it didn't get all over her face. Chocolate? Well chocolate could go on ice cream! There was butterscotch on Kay's sundae but surely with chocolate added it'd be just as delicious! Oh, but maybe it needed to be melted. Was that the problem? Damn...maybe if they left it in the sun! It could melt! But then it'd be a waste of perfectly good chocolate. Damn! She jumped a little at his sudden exclamation, blinking and staring at him with wide eyes. "Oh?" Evari watched as he dug through his bag and got out bags of regular candy that clearly wasn't chocolate, gasping with delight and carefully holding her ice cream in one hand and picking through the bags with the other. Hmmm! Choices! Ohoh!
"Theeeeese.." Evari plucked out a few sour patch kids and stuck them in her ice cream. Some head first, some feet first. It was art! Or something. "Ummm...and some'a these!" A couple gummi worms were picked out, mostly the orange and red ones that matched her eyes, and laid across the top of the ice cream, but she did manage to stick one in the scoops. "Never seen these b'fore." Evari pointed at the fuzzy peaches and then looked her ice cream over.
...Hm...it might've been good enough. For now. "It's art~!" She stated with a laugh and a grin, feeling a lot better than she had before. "What're you gonna put? Betcha you could put chocolate on yers."

Kay let her have first pick of, well, everything. He watched her decorate her piece of 'art', and chuckled when it was finished. "S'beautiful." He complimented, happy to see her cheering up again. She was practically back to normal, and it was all because of him! Go Kay, Go Kay Go~
"I coooould~" He hummed, staring at his plastic bowl of butterscotch sundae. First though, he took two of the fuzzy peaches and put it on the front of the sundae, like eyes. Then, reaching into his bag he pulled out a kit kat bar, breaking off two of the sticks to stick them into the sides of it, like antennae. "There, I made an alien." There was a slight pause and a tilt of his head. "Or...Gera?" He wrinkled up his nose for a moment, but lifted the Sundae to her in a toast.
"To sugar!" He cheered, before settling down to eat.

"Damn right! Er...!" Evari blushed, not quite sure where the 'damn' came from. It honestly just slipped out! In her head she had said 'That's right' but...but damn came out instead! Gah! "I mean...that's right~! Eh heh...oopsie." Maybe she'd been watching too much TV lately. But how was that possible? Too much TV? Psh! No such thing! One could never have too much television. She watched with undivided interest (Which trust me, it's a rare thing) as Kay decorated his sundae, laughing at it. It was cute! And really did look like an alien! Or...Gera? Evari blinked, tilting her head a bit and looking curiously at the sundae and then Kay.
"But Gera's blue...you know Gera too?" She lifted her icecream anyway with his, making a motion to nudge them together without actually touching his sundae. Didn't want to knock her ice cream off the cone! "To sugar~!" Lots and lots of sugar. She'd probably be adding to this as she went along. Evari tried the first bite of her ice cream and managed to get a sour patch kid in it and the tail end of the gummi worm she'd managed to shove into the treat itself...but since it wouldn't tear the gummi worm kind of just hung from her lips for now while she tried to get it back onto the ice cream without the use of her hands. Stupid looking? Yes. Difficult? Very. Lazy? Incredibly so. Did Evari care? Not one bit.

Well, yeah, Gera was blue...but blue didn't lend well to ice cream. Unless he got that bubble gum kind. BUT he had made his choice, and after toasting their ice cream to sugar, they ate.
What happened next could be expected from any sort of child-eating-ice cream-and-candy scenarios. They got brain freeze, they got hyper (Evari moreso than Kay), and after a bit of running around, Kay suggested they go home. After all, he had to get back to Switch and his Brothers! That, and Evari should go home to apologize to her Mama...but that part he left quiet. Eventually he had a giggly Evari on his arm, directing him to her house since...well, he'd never been there before.
Once they found it, he politely stood outside, knocking on the front door. Even if it was Evari's house, and even though Evari was RIGHT THERE, he felt it best to knock. Don't ask why, he didn't know. Once Xai opened the door, Kay held Evari out; or rather, he stood behind her with his hands on her upper arms.
"I found this, I think she belongs to you." He said cheerfully.

It probably didn't help that every time Evari ate a bit of her ice cream she added more candy to it. To keep the ratio of ice cream to candy consistent...or something. Whatever. It made sense to Evari. But by the time she was done with her ice cream she was giggling, excited, and very full of energy. She could power a city! Well, okay. Not really. But you got the gist of it. Though at one point she did joke that maybe if she ate enough candy she could glow bright enough to light an entire city.
And so she attempted it. The attempt was unsuccessful but that was okay, she got more candy out of it! She hummed and skipped and danced alongside Kay as she walked with him to her house, giggling and singing random songs she was making up as they went along. This was fun! Today was fun! She couldn't even remember why she'd been so upset anymore! Xai was quick to open the door when she heard the knock, looking quite worried until she saw who she could only assume was...Kay? Holding Evari out for her...? Wh-what? Did she go to the shop?! But Switch had said she hadn't seen Evari! Maybe she met up with Kay outside of the Curio shop. How odd but...but she was home! And looked very happy. Way too happy. This was how Evari looked when Xai gave her...candy...gah! Why, Kay?! Why?! Her face went from worry to dismay as she held the door open and stared down at the two, not noticing the little blonde antlered girl who was clinging to the end of her dress and peeking cautiously out from behind her. "Ah...thank you, Kay!" A thank you for cheering her up, anyway...sorta. She wasn't quite sure she wanted to thank him for bringing her home like this. "You...can't keep her? At least until she crashes?"
"NOPE~! Iiiiiiiii gotsta come hoooooooome. Teehee~." Evari grinned and wiggled in Kay's grasp, giggling. "I'm hungry can we have dinner I want CHEESEBURGERS~! Ohohohoh! Kay you gotsa come over and play with me, 'kay?" Her eyes were wide as she waited for his answer, looking at him over her shoulder. Ohohoh! She wanted a hug too! She liked hugs from her friends. Yay! Hugs!

Kay was practically grinning from ear to ear No, he was by no means as hyper as Evari, but he was certainly much more energetic than usual. Though, arguably, the sugar might not have affected him at all...food generally burned up pretty quickly with him.
"Nah, I gotsa go home and besides, I'm sure you really really miss her after what happened." The last part was said a little quieter, like it was their little secret. The way she was acting made him laugh, and he nodded eagerly. "Course, Course, but not today, yeah? Gotta go home." He repeated, spinning Evari around to hug her against his chest, giving her a crushingly tight hug before shooing her back to her Mother.
"Mkay then, Cya later!" Waving, he knew how mean to Xai he was being...but...Xai had been the root cause for a beating he had taken earlier! So this was fair. Once Evari was safe with her Guardian, he turned and headed back home.

Kay words made her feel guilty, even if that wasn't his intention. Xai bit her lip for a moment and frowned, sighing after a moment. She did miss Evari, and she had been very worried when she found she hadn't been with Faris or at the Curio shop. She hadn't known where else to look! So she'd stayed home in case Evari came home on her own, besides she couldn't just leave poor little Tyyne by herself. She was still frightened from before Evari left! "Well yes, but I...what did you give her?" Xai whined, watching the pair. Evari was glowing as brightly as ever, grinning from ear to ear even when Kay reminded her he had to go home. Right, right. He had to go home. To Switch and alllll those brothers. Why did anyone need siblings? That was just stupid. She didn't want a sibling. Even though said sister was standing right there, she was blatantly ignoring her for now. She gave a cheery 'wheeeeeeeeeeee~!' as she was spun around and reached up to wrap her arms around Kay, giggling with pure delight and giving a squeal as she was crushed against him. This was a fun hug! She'd never been hugged this tight before!
The hug was released and she bounced on her toes, waving to Kay as he left. "Byebye, Kaaaaaaay! See ya later!" Evari called out as he walked off, still grinning as she turned her head to look up at Xai. Heh...she knew what she had to deal with now. The alien sighed and stepped aside, gently guiding Tyyne out of the way as Evari ran into the house with a cheer, singing a song about cheeseburgers and how awesome they were. Great. Juuuust great.
