I'm from Ontario smile in any case my recommendation would be to try to find others in your area learning French, because from my own experiences it seems that these sorts of things seem to travel more by word of mouth as opposed to TV or the internet, others who live nearby and are learning French are sure to know some place where you can get stuff.

And yesh, I went to the french bookstore today... 4laugh I can't even describe the experience. I practically died of hapiness just walking in.. and it was pretty big, I ended up buying like 20 book and 1 dvd domokun

Thanks for the tip! I'd have never thought of that... I'll ask the language teachers at my school first. 3nodding

But wow, that must've been so cool! biggrin

I have this one book, was written during WW2 as a protest. Beneath Another Sun by Ernst Lothar. It's one of my more prized possessions especially considering its age. But yeah, sorry for the bragging, now to get to the point - this version's primarily English but it has a good amount of German, Italian, French and Czech in there. I was kinda surprised. oO

I sometimes re-read books I've read in English in another language, usually German. I have to read Damals War Es Friedrich in class right now (IB Higher Level German = gonk ), and it is sooooo~ boring. TT ^TT

But I plowed all the way through Der Herr Der Fliegen (Lord of the Flies) by myself, I can manage this. >.<;;;; *psychs herself up*

I have a couple of BDs (European comics) in French and a couple of books in English. But I still don't know where can I find non-Spanish books in Guadalajara. Maybe I can find some by a friend's house, because she lives in a SoHo-like place with a lot of furniture shops, art galleries and libraries.

I understand spanish well enough to read poems, articles, short stories, really anything but novels. They tend to frustrate me easily. I love to listen to the spanish yahoo radio but it annoys my family as none of them speak anything but english.
I can read poems and get the gist of articles in french. I write french poetry sometimes, which i love cuz i think that its just the perfect language for poetry. But still, i don't understand french even to the degree that i understand spanish.
