we will have different arcs, I also don't think it is a good idea to use canon characters, one if they rp as a canon character and the person posts and he posts a slightly different personality then everyone wil continue to compare the two, also how creative is it to RP as a canon character??

as for the guidelines, if we let people make their own guidelines and rules for their character there would be extreme God Modding. They can use any of the elements they want, if we missed an element you want tell us and we will fix it, but I mean they can add things to their profile that isn't on the skeleton, and they create their own past with no limitations as long as you don't put you killed a character from the story. But I hate it when people RP as canon characters only because I compare them to the actual character. I want people to use their imagination to create a character thats not in the story.

one more thing I have been thinking to open a second element but you will never be able to master it, nor will it be strong enough to match someone that your secondary element is their original element. But I haven't decided if I want to yet. But do you guys think we should open a second element?

It wont matter how many arcs there are its still the same rp its the same year and same setting, same same same boring same. Is this entire guild really going to be based on one rp. Its not different enough I've owned guilds and almost every rp I have ever been in is one that I've written, I'm trying to give my advice based on what I've gained from over the years of rping. People get board using the same idea for every rp.
And as for creativity with a canon character if your able to figure out how to handle a situation as the character would I'd say it takes some creativity to match that personality Its like acting. Even if the character isn’t a made up its still fun to play them and Its more fun to have them interact with made ups. You shouldn’t limit people telling them they cant play a canon just because they might not play the canon as close to the character as they could be. This is a literate guild people should be given the chance to fail before you tell them they cant play the canon. With literate members the people who have canon characters that they play are obviously used to playing them you cant read the manga and not get a feel for each characters personality the people in this thread should be given the benefit of the doubt even more so than typical role players because the time has been taken to track down people who are literate and know a lot about fullmetal alchemist.
If you don’t want canons in your rp fine you don’t have to do that, But other people should be able to play canons in their own rps or rps that others have made that allow canons.

I wouldn't mind letting some one else play My usually canon I play Roy quite often so I wouldn't mind playing an oc for an rp. But as for you since you play Ed you probably get beat to the punch most of the time. I say who ever plays Ed better should get the part and the other would have to play him in a different rp. A lot of the time the first to take the part isn't the better person a playing him. Auditioning would be more fair than first come first serve.

A little competition will be fun and it should better peoples rping the loser would start working harder at their writing and learn the character better and the winner wouldn’t always be beat to the punch and then have to play an OC and watch as the other person butchers the character they wanted to play.
It also ensures I get the best pick for my rps XD

It would work if you based the rp after the FMA OVA Chibi Party, an rp that would be very relaxed where random things would happen, though that would work for an idea like that, and if you've seen the movie at the end where they destroy the gate. I've made rp's where the gate is indestructible and by Ed, Al and Roy disrupting it like they did in the movie it starts popping up over arias of heavy violence in our world and a few people form our world end up on the other side, If we did that it would be a serous rp but you could only have 1 double and they may look and act some what different from the Cannon character that they look like. If we did that in regular rp’s it would get confusing I’ve brought in temps to rps when s**t got slow because the person ends up getting busy with life. It ends up being confusing especially when people play Ed because his personality changes through out the manga he becomes more mature, and different people play him at different stages of maturity. Any way If you want to do that for your rp that’s fine but you cant please every body all the time. My rp’s will have a single person playing that character, unless I do the Broken gate rp, but even then the doubles or oc's

auditioning for the character and i think that there will only be one of everyone but al and ed are dead because it would be too overpowering to be them almost a god mod everyone else will be there but you start out at the lowest rank and your abilities will be modified to this guilds standards so no god mods apear
