"I seriously don't blame ya, kiddo." Kay couldn't help but chuckle at how honest Pilot was being. It was refreshing, in a strange and morbid way. The young man sighed, poking at his sundae more than he was eating it...certainly out of character for him. "If it makes ya feel any better...they went too fast to be hurt, an' I think the rest'll survive..." Not that he wanted to keep talking about it, but it was always good to find a good thing amongst the bad. "...An'...you did real good, Pilot. Really, really good. The survivors should thank you." He told the younger man softly, meaning every word. Pilot had called for emergency help, he'd gotten the blankets and first aid kits...he did very well, a lot more than Kay had done at his age and in a very similar senario.

"I think I can gettcha home a different way, might get a biiit lost but I'll make it work." He warned him, grinning.

When Kay said that he didn’t blame him Pilot blanked for a second before realising that me must of said the sanity bit aloud, that happened to him a lot. “It does kinda but, they shouldn’t be gone, they weren’t old.” Pilot said sadly, he was coming to the realization that everyone eventually had to come to which was that it wasn’t just the elderly that died, anyone could at anytime.

“Yeah well if they should thank me they should thank you Kay, I wouldn’t have had any clue on what to do if you hadn’t been there.” He said with a small smile, and it was true. Without Kay there Pilot would have just collapsed in horror as the people’s buzzes slowly went out.

“I’m sure we’ll get there eventually, the houses on my street are pretty distinctive.” Pilot answered with a small grin, distinctive was an understatement for Vesuvius circuit.

"At least they're not hurting anymore." Kay offered, though he agreed; they were too young to have died, it was scary to know it could happen to literally anyone. He waved his hand in dismissal over the needing to thank him bit; sure he told Pilot what to do, but it didn't mean the boy could have still done it. He still could have crumpled on the ground in horror. But he didn't and thus, credit where credit was due.

"Ah, that's good then...makes it easier in the long run!" Managing a chuckle, Kay motioned down towards Pilot's ice cream. "All done? We can head home if you are...unless there's somewhere else you want to go, of course."

Pilot just solemnly nodded, sure they weren’t hurting but they weren’t anything else either. They’d never be happy or sad or angry or any number of things again and it was all because of something that only took a few seconds.

When Kay asked if there was anywhere he wanted to go he almost immediately shook his head before stopping himself and quickly checking something first, he had been out for a reason. Opening one of the larger pockets on his utility belt he saw that the small carton of milk was still there, though a little warm and after a bit of rummaging through other pockets he located the small bottle of cold and flu tablets he’d also bought without prompt, on his way out he’d noticed they were running low. Now content that no, he didn’t have anywhere else he needed to go, and sure that Mom and Uncle Morphy would have began to worry he replied with a simple, “Nah, I think I’m ready to head on home.”.

"Alrighty then, let's gettcha home little buddy." Kay said with a smile, a rather convincingly okay smile. After tossing his garbage, he led Pilot out of the shop and took him back to his street, managing to completely bypass the horrific scene of the accident. In fact, all trace of the accident seemed to have left entirely; there were no sirens, nobody talking about it, nothing. If it weren't for them witnessing it, it might not have even happened!

Soon enough, Vesuvius Circuit came in sight, and Kay was...well, more than perplexed by what he saw. It was an unusual street! Completely different from what he was used to, that was for sure. Not that he minded at all, it was interesting! Now all there was to do was to find number seven...

Pilot was slightly disturbed by how fast the clean up happened, how much practice must they have had to be so efficient? Shaking the thought from his head, no need to dwell on that sort of thing, he instead spent the walk in silence, using the time to just soak up the wonderfully alive world around him and to think about what he’d say when he got home.

Pilot gave a small quirky smile when he saw the distinctive houses of his street come in to view. Vesuvius Circuit had gained a bit of a reputation for being the place for oddballs and the styles of the houses reflected that. One was a modelled after a rook piece from chess, just gaint, another was a house made of what most hoped was fake bones, another lot just had a sign with the number three out the front and a swirling purple vortex taking up the rest of the space and someone had even built a small castle with a moat around it for their house. In Pilot’s opinion though his house and number thirteen where the coolest. Number thirteen looked as though one of the famous alien saucers had crash landed into the lot and was being used as a home now. His house though for the first two levels looked pretty tame, just a normal Victorian style house, but then it seemed as though someone had decided that the house needed more room and had just grabbed anything they could find to use and started building up, and up, and up until it got to the point where the house should have collapsed and fallen over by the laws of physics.

Pointing his house out to Kay he waited to see his reaction to the oddness about the street, everyone always got a kick out of new people's reactions.

The young man tilted his head a bit, staring at the rather strange houses. Gaia generally housed some pretty strange things, but this had to have been the oddest looking street he'd ever seen! His red eye was wide as he looked around, walking backwards with a wide and amused grin on his lips.

"Hey, this is awesome!" He laughed, turning to look at the house Pilot had pointed to. "Cool! How the hell does it stay up, eh?" Chuckling, he headed over to it, knowing Pilot would probably follow.

Once they were close enough to the doors, Kay stopped moving. "Should prolly be headin' back home." He said, jerking his head down the street, where they had come from. "Are you gonna be okay, Buddy?" The offer had a promise to it, somehow; if Pilot said no, Kay would stick around until the answer ended up as yes.

Pilot’s smile was just a bit wider and bit truer than it had been since what had happened, it was really nice to see people’s reactions to this place. “Nobody actually knows but general consensus is that it stays up to mess with people’s heads. Or magic. Either way works.” He said conspiratorially.

When they stepped close to the door Pilot could immediately hear Bonnie and Chilli barking their heads off to say ‘Welcome Home’ and from and open upstairs window he heard a sick sounding voice yell out, “Dammit Morpheus, lemme up!”. This home noises brought a warm feeling that soothed the emotions of the day and allowed him to answer’s Kay questions, because whilst no he wasn’t ok now but was he going to be ok? “Yeah. I am. You be ok too Kay.” He said softly before fishing something out of his pocket, his phone number. “You call me, because I’m defiantly going to want to talk to you again, you hear?” after having giving Kay the number and received his reply pilot turned to the door and opened it, giving one last small wave before he closed the door.

"Good." Kay smiled when Pilot said he was going to be okay. "Hey, I'm always good." He laughed, happily taking the piece of paper from the younger male. Saluting at the near-order to Pilot's words, the Shaman turned and wandered off back home, also avoiding the scene from the crash...just in case.
