Unlike Calintha, there was no way Ladon felt ridiculous. Maybe in the past he would have, but after trying to fight senshi with just a jump rope, he felt better armed with a foam axe. He even felt better armed than he first though, and proudly walked with his weapon. As for his group, they all seemed to be Meadowview kids, or at least most of them. “I’m from Meadowview, too.” Not that he suspected anyone knew him. He wasn’t in any social circles, and had made it a personal goal to not have a bad reputation, which resulted in having no reputation at all aside from that weird, quite, kid. That and being on track.

Since the place hadn’t been impressive in the slightest, Ladon was surprised to see the wall part to another room. It was so futuristic, or at least very neat, that he wondered if the cheap front of the building was just to throw them off. Amazed, he watched the walls move and wondered just what else was in store for them. Having little faith that anything great was going to happen, his thoughts that this actually would prove to be a worthwhile adventure were changing. Foam weapons and moving walls made him think of secret compartments in castles. Their weapons looked medieval enough, though the foam finger really made him wonder if they ran out of funds here and there.

Following, he stepped into the small room and as he followed the first girl, noticed her swear and jump. Above something was coming for them, and giving out a quick “Whoa!”, he shot to the side of the wall to avoid it as best he could.

"Peyton," she offered to Calintha, friendly smile as always. So five of them. That was a nice, round number. She watched as everyone picked their weapons, chuckling at what was now revealed to be a foam finger. She felt somewhat glad she'd taken the bat - at least it could do some damage if they had to fight something. Although she was assuming it would only be playfighting, right? Liliana was just being silly - of course they wouldn't have to fight each other! "A little strange," she agreed with Calintha, before shrugging, "But its just a game, right? Guess its some new kind of game that we're beta testing or...something?"

The bat was nice and light, which was a little strange, since whenever she'd held a bat before she was used to it having some sort of weight to it, so it could hit the baseball a decent distance. She assumed she'd soon get used to it, though. "I did go to Meadowview," Peyton smiled brightly as Alessa introduced herself, "I'm at Sovereign Heights at the moment, though."

A wall slid to reveal an open door, and Peyton couldn't help but grin. This was so exciting! "C'mon guys!" she eagerly said, taking a step forwards, "This is like a video game, except...we're actually playing it." Stating the obvious perhaps, but the girl was clearly quite excited as she took a few steps forwards, following the others and holding her baseball bat in such a position that she could swing it if needed. She hadn't quite expected something to swing towards her from the ceiling, however, and yelped rather loudly as some strange white object did, attempting to dodge.

Liliana was shocked to find that she had picked up a foam finger, and frowned at the giggle coming from her side. She was just fine with the foam finger, she really wasn't an offensive fighter. Even in her senshi form, her attacks weren't offensive, no they merely slowed the other was down. She knew eventually she would need a partner, but as of yet she had not met any other senshi.

"I'm from Meadowview as well," she said softly before looking around.

Lily watched as the walled closed behind them and almost jumped. Looking forward another wall had opened and it looked at though they only had one direction to go onward. it seemed as though thing were getting a bit more interesting and that was fine with Lily, as long as they did not encounter any mud, she would be happy. She was ready to go forward and hoped nothing crazy would happen.

She placed her foam finger on her hand and moved forward following Calintha, Ladon, and Peyton. She hadn't not even go far when she notice the other's jumping out of the way of...

'What was that,' Lily thought as she jumped to the side her dress flying about waywardly.

The girl with the glasses couldn’t help but giggle. “We’re all Meadowviewers! Man, I’m terrible. I haven’t met any of you before. We should maybe hang out later, when that contest’s finished!”

It didn’t occur to her that some people just may have been doing fine without having to befriend strangers. Then again, she was the social girl who befriended as many people as she could in the hopes at least one of them would like her. Her standards were as low for things as they were for people. Sharing the same school was way enough of a condition for her.

Whoa, that was a sliding door! Surprised, Alessa took a defensive pose and stepped back, but it turned out nothing more happened. She went in that direction with the others. She was distracted by the realization someone had a foam finger. In the back of her mind, she couldn’t help but wonder what would have been wrong with bringing something a little more intimidating than that, like a fan. But then, she realized it only made the whole experience cheesier and more ridiculous, and that made it all better again.
Then in the corner of her eye, she noticed at the last moment a white object hurled towards her, and her reflexes spoke for her.

IT'S A TRAP! - Everybody
1-9: Successful Dodge
10: THWONK! The mysterious object collided with Landon, emitting a little metallic “BOO!” before it was whisked up and away, into the ceiling and gone from sight. Stupid cheap Halloween decorations. Meanwhile, a light on Landon's Axe flickers to life.

More interestingly, however, there's another sign here, just as bad and unhelpful as the first one:

BEWARE OF TRAPS IN
THE MOST INNOCENT OF PLACES
ELSE YOU IS LOSER.

With little other options present (that being no doors you can see, and the walls look as if they extend to the ceiling), you decide to move on. The hallway itself isn't spectacular, and you make it to the end of the hallway without incident. You even manage to turn the corner at the end of the hallway, nearly running face-first into... Geeze, what is it?! You can't tell if it's a cardboard monster or someone dressed up in costume, but it holds up a claw and swipes! Time to attack or poke it into submission!

Calintha got up from the ground where she had dove. It seemed like everyone had dodged the strange Halloween decoration except the sole boy in their group. She giggled a little at the thought of it before turning to help him. She offered a hand to help him up from the ground. "Hey, are you alright?"

The blonde noticed something else. "Ladon... your sword is glowing?" It was strange, but it was fairly bright in the dim hallway. She checked her own sword and found nothing. This place was very, very strange.

She turned to the other girl who had spoken. "Hanging out might be nice. I don't know many people from Meadowview yet." After making sure she had a strong grip on her sword, Calintha forged forward. It was the same weird music with the same weird wallpaper. "What are all these strange haiku's about?"

Beyond the haiku, there was more hallway, and more hallway. Finally she turned another hallway only to come face to face with a weird cardboard decoration that took a swipe at her with its 'scary' cardboard claws. Thinking on instinct, she shoved her sword forward, trying to combat the beast. "I think we're supposed to fight it?"

Tanglewood was just becoming more strange. Why had she even signed up for this dumb thing? It certainly wasn't the all star attraction that the ads had made it out to be.

Even Alessa was surprised not to feel an impact with the white thing that had dropped from the ceiling, and has now mysteriously disappeared. Back during the youma attack, she would have made a much better use of that skill… but who was she to complain?
She had dropped to the ground very quickly in order to avoid the obstacles; now, she was getting up with caution. Looking around, she fixed her poofy hair a bit. “That was close, but I'm fine”, she sighed.

Two seconds later, she noticed a tiny light, and the axe-wielder’s position and expression that suggested… “Holy s**t, are you okay? Did it hit you?” she asked with a bit of concern. She couldn’t help but worry even for boys.

When she reached the end of the hallway, Alessa stumbled into something. Something not particularly impressing (but what in that place was?). But something about the uncanny inability to tell its exact nature made it, paradoxically, creepier. Awkwardly, she flung her rubber weapon forward; it was not at full strength despite how harmless her mace seemed to be. She was reluctant to hit a person for real. If it was a disguised person. Ugh, let’s get done with it.

Of all the people to get hit! As all the girl dodged the white object, Ladon wasn’t quite fast enough, which seemed to be something he should be use to. Whether it was short legs or poor reflexes, he was hit smack in the forehead by the object, and smacked down hard on his behind. Whatever it was, there had been a metal box inside that did nothing to soften the impact, and stunned, he looked up to see that it was a Halloween Decoration of what looked to be a ghost, which said “Boo!” before being whisked back up into the ceiling. While he COULD have swore, he instead bit his lower lip and kept it in, rubbing his forehead. He was more hurt that he was the only one that got hit, the only guy in a room full of girls, than anything else (even though it did sting).

Quick to offer their sympathy, the girls helped him up, and he shook his head. “It’s nothing. I’m okay. It didn’t hurt at all.” It did, but he wasn’t about to admit it. After Calintha pointed it out, he saw that one of his lights on his axe was glowing, and he frowned, pouting more than he would have at being hit with a decoration. He was loosing! Just starting out and he already had Strike One.

Wanting to whimper, he instead shook it off. If anything, he was starting to feel angry. If he had been Wolframite, he would have been able to dodge that easily, but he couldn’t with 4 civilians in the room. He was stuck being Ladon. Slow, bump-on-the-noggin, Ladon.

Deciding he’d follow near the back this time around, he continued on, rubbing his head and wondering if he’d have a bruise there. Having thought they would at least wait a moment, he didn’t expect the cardboard creature that was next. His first thought had been that it was a youma or something else, and he found himself literally arming himself with his axe. Then he remembered that this was part of the game, and relaxed. This was suppose to be fun, and adopting the attitude of the rest of the girls, he moved in and gave a swing at the creature. While everyone else might be worried about the man in the suit, Ladon hit with a bit more force. After being hit, things were more personal, and he was more determined to come out of the game a winner. That or at least not the first loser to be sent home.

She managed to dodge, and turn around just in time to see Landon hit with the object, a loud 'Boo!' sounding before it was gone again. ...What, it had just been a joke? Oh, but there was a light on his axe. Guess he'd lost a life. She offered a reassuring smile, turning back to face the way they were heading, surprised to find another sign. Just as helpful as the last, of course. Beware of the innocent...she'd have to remember that.

Moving forwards, deciding not to pour sympathy over Landon like the others had - she had a feeling he was a bit embarrassed at being the only one caught - she turned the corner and was faced by...woa, what was it!? Some sort of monster. Clearly not actually a real monster, Peyton's mind flashed back to the weird sign about innocent places...was this what it meant? But everyone else was attacking it! Not wanting to find out she was the only one wrong, Peyton gingerly poked her baseball bat forwards, swinging it more in a 'get away from me!' motion than actually trying to hit the 'monster.

Liliana pulled herself up from the ground dusting of her dress and frowning about her bad choose of clothing. Thought it wasn't as if she was wearing anything out of the ordinary for her.

She turned to see the other helping Ladon and a few exclamation that his sword seemed to be glowing. She gave the boy a small encouraging smile before looking around to see that no one else's weapons were glowing which meant Ladon had gotten the first strike. Poor guy.

She was about to head forward but noticed the new sign on the wall. She frowned at the signs poor usage of grammar, but mauled it over none the less. 'Innocent place,' she though wondering how a long dark hallway could have innocent place. Lily shook her head noticing the other moving forward and hurrying to catch up.

Hallway, hallway and more hallway, until the finally reached a corner. Turning it the wear seemingly attack and Lily nearly fell back before adopting the stance of Maia. She was tempted to sing it into submission. On second glance, however, it seems to be rather harmless and definitely not a youma.

Lily laughed lightly and swung her silly foam finger at it, in an attempt to hit it. She was beginning to enjoy their silly little adventure. She thought on Alessa's words hoping that hang time with the group might be possible.

Monster's Hallway - Everybody
1-10: Hit
11-20: Dodge
The "creature" (for lack of an accurate descriptive term) flails about! Calintha and Alessa are both hit, each of them receiving a light on their weapon. It... honestly didn't hurt. For all its bravado, the "creature" was nothing more than a fake, a prop meant to startle and scare those that turned the corner, unsuspecting. A few hits from their combined weapons sent it clinking backwards along a pre-laid trap, spinning around to reveal another haiku:

MONSTERS YOU WILL FACE
HIT THEM MANY MANY TIMES
BECAUSE IT IS FUN.

lol n00bz

The monster backs away quickly, making the sign difficult to read -- and the graffiti beneath it illegible. It clinks and clatters away, curving towards the left.

Down the hall another chamber can be seen, this one looking a bit roomier than the armory. It looks like someone even painted a sky, and there's some sort of structure ahead. From what can be made out so far, it's about waist-high... a table? Maybe.

Continue forwards towards the next room.
Investigate where the cardboard monster went.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 20, 2010 10:02 am

Lily grinned at being able to avoid the monsters attack as the monster quickly vanished into ... Well she wasn't entirely sure where the monster had gone, but she had notice an odd haiku before it field, though she hardly been able to read it.

She turned looking to see how the others fared and frowned when she noticed Alessa and Calintha's weapons a lite. "Are you two okay," she asked worried that perhaps the pair had been hurt by the monster. She waited patiently for a respond once again offering a reassuring smile.

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed what appeared to be a chamber, bigger and roomier than the last, with was that another table. "Hey guys, look," she said enthusiastically pointing to the room up ahead.

Not particularly caring where the monster had gone and beginning to really enjoy herself, with no lights on her finger being an added bonus she decided to lead the way onward to the next room.

"Lets go," she said, "the game will probably get even more interesting and maybe a little less cheap."

Peyton stumbled to the side, dodging the 'monster's' flailing arms more by chance than anything. That, and she hadn't really been all that close to it in the first place. The monster was soon defeated, however, revealing another the the Haikus. Hit then many times because it was fun? ...Right.

Already Liliana had stormed ahead to find another room, but Peyton watched as the creature retreated around a corner. She glanced after Liliana, her nose wrinkling. Usually she'd prefer to go where others went - safety in numbers, and all that. But Liliana...had a foam finger. And Peyton felt like following the monster might be...better, almost. She glanced behind her, at Calintha, Alessa and Landon, grinning widely. "C'mon, that monster has to lead somewhere!" she explained, as she began to follow where it had gone. She didn't run, merely taking a casual walking pace, glancing around herself curiously, bat hanging by her side as she went to investigate where the cardboard monster went.
