Jasper grinned as he thought to himself, practically bouncing down the path. She said yes, SHE SAID YES!!! Oh boy...so is this a date? It is a date. No wait, maybe not. What if she doesn't think it's a date? But it has to be. But what if she thinks we're just friends? No, that can't be possible. She must know it's a date. But she didn't seem to be excited about the idea of hanging out. Hmm...should I say something? Ah, I can't bring myself to do that. His grin soon turned into a deep frustration as he tried to figure out the meaning of her response. Out of the corner of his eye, Jasper continued to watch Talani, who gracefully trotted beside him. She's so beautiful... Just having her beside him calmed him down, and his grin returned. As long as I'm with her, I don't care what our "hang out" means. I'll take anything.
Composing himself, Jasper responded, "Wonderful, shall we do something perhaps a little more...adventurous?" His mind wandered to the gorgeous pink-sand Palo Beach. He was sure she had never been there before, and neither has he, but he has heard the most amazing stories about the place and the mer-creatures in the oceans (although he didn't believe they existed).
Looking ahead, Jasper could see the clearing of the trees, opening onto over 5 acres of neatly cut rows of apple trees.

Talani was glad when he seemed chipper though that gladness was soon overcome with a soft sort of worry as his smile turned frustrated. Had she done something wrong? Surely she hadn't It couldn't be that I agreed and now he doesn't want to hang out. Perhaps he remembered something that would interrupt our hanging out. What if it was another female that wouldn't want him hanging out with her. Jealousy? Well I suppose if she has reason to be jealous it's better for me. Her thoughts didn't raise much concern but she was worried about the down turn his smile had quickly taken. She glanced at the ground and then glanced back over to jasper and he was grinning again. He'd figured out what had worried him. That pleased her.
The path seemed to widen but she didn't take it as a chance to move away but rather she kept the closeness of their walk. "Adventurous hmmm... what do you have in mind?" She slid her head side ways looking at him as she questioned his 'adventurous' because adventurous could be dangerous.

Jasper blushed as his tail lightly brushed hers. They were very close, both of them taking up only half of the path which seems to have widened without them taking notice. He didn't mind and he sure wasn't about to say anything. He rather enjoyed their closeness.
"If I say it's a surprise, would you be mad at me?" He looked at her with frolicsome eyes, and without giving her the time to respond, he said, "So I'll take that as a no. Good." A grin played across his face. They were approaching the opening of the forest, Jasper could see the neat rows of apple trees up ahead. He hopped in front of Talani, blocking her way. Looking into her eyes, he was about to speak but then decided otherwise. Too soon? No way, now is the time. Oh what am I doing, I better wait. Instead, he motioned to the clearing up ahead. "Race you there?" His tail wagged back and forth playfully.

Talani liked this, this meeting had gone from bad to great. No more spiderwebs no more scary sounds, just her and Jasper. She loved his company. She glanced over at him before looking forward again. A surprise? She supposed that wouldn't be too bad. "So long as you promise it won't be scary I won't be mad." She couldn't really be mad else wise unless it put them in danger but she believed he wouldn't put them directly in dangers way. Not that he'd really waited for her answer she had said it none the less.
They were almost out of the forest, it sadden her because she wasn't ready for their trip to be over and it would surely end once they made it out of the forest. Shortly after her thoughts turned that way he was jumping in front of her. He looked at her and everything was so quiet she wasn't sure what he was doing till mentioned racing. She wouldn't frown at his suggestion even if it would end their trip much sooner. She liked to race. She dipped her head in a soft nod. "Alright sounds fun" She smiled softly before deciding she'd be the one to start it. "Ready go!" She didn't even let him turn around before she darted around him. Sure it wasn't fair but she was sure he'd catch up even possibly beat her but they'd see about that.

"Hey, wait up!" Jasper spun around and ran after Talani who was already far ahead of him. A wide smile spread across his face as he got closer and closer to her. He playfully pounced on Talani's back, knocking her to the ground as they rolled into the orchard. The sun was shining high up in the sky, giving the green grass a beautiful kind of glow. Jasper smiled at Talani, her gorgeous features glowing in the sunshine. It was breathtaking. He rolled over to lay beside her, not taking his eyes off of her. They stayed there in silence for a few moments, enjoying the warm sun on their fur.
"So..." Jasper began. He paused, looking away from her and gathering up the nerves to speak. Taking a deep breath and still without looking at her, he blurted out, "I don't know what your feelings are for me but I needed to tell you that I like you, I really do. I know we've only just met but from the moment I saw you, I've liked you." He glanced at her out of the corner of his eyes. "So I don't just want to hang out, I want to take you out on a date." His voice was hopeful on the last part.

Talani giggled as she ran. She was ahead of him. However end line in sight she wasn't sure why she suddenly felt a weight on her back. She wasn't looking at the potential finish line anymore but at the world spinning and she knew she was on the ground and she had a sneaking suspicion that the cause was a handsome blue Datsi that was no longer far behind her. but all around her till they settled on the ground under the sun.
She smiled and closed her eyes glad to be soaking up the warm sun. She knew he laid beside and she was content with everything. He then began to speak. She cracked an eye an glanced over at him. Then he just blurted a look spill of words. She didn't know what to say. It did catch her attention though. She looked up at the sky both eyes opened now and processed it all. He likes me. He really likes me, and he wants to take me on a date. Wow a real date. She glanced over at him. "I think I'd like that. A date sounds fun"

Jasper watched and waited anxiously as the Datsi looked up at the sky. Everything was silent for a moment. Ohh no...I should have waited. I knew it. She's going to say no. Disappointment washed over him as he took one last look at Talani. His eyes found the ground and his ears drooped slightly. He composed himself and smiled at Talani as their eyes met. Her response took him by surprise. Yes? YES! YES YES YES!!! Jasper felt like he could fly. He leaped onto his feet and circled Talani before sitting down very close beside her. His smile turned into a wide grin. "Wonderful, how about tomorrow? I'd like to take you to somewhere special."

Talani giggled at his response. "Tomorrow sounds good to me. I can't think of anything better to do." She nodded and moved from where she'd been laying and looked at her fur. She had cobwebs in some places and dirt in others, she was such a mess. She'd be cleaner tomorrow she'd make sure of it.

Jasper chuckled at the cobwebs and dirt covering Talani's pink fur. She didn't seem too pleased with her appearance. "Bath time?" He grinned at her. "Come on, I'll walk you home."
They walked silently together, each lost in their own thoughts, towards the village. Occasionally they bumped shoulders, in which they just smiled and kept walking without a word. Jasper dropped Talani off at her hut. "I'll come get you bright and early tomorrow morning." He smiled at her, and then leaned in and bumped noses. "Have a good night." And with that, Jasper left.
