The sounds of the yelling had jarred Abyss from her sleep. Ugh, stupid noises that kept her from obtaining a good night of sleep. See, this was why she enjoyed her solitary life in her castle of shells, there was none of this yelling and stirring of pack mates at all hours of the time. "Can't a gal get some beauty sleep around her?" She muttered to herself before finally, almost begrudgingly Abyss crawled from her den to see what all the fuss was about.
Padding towards the commotion she arrived just in time to catch a glimpse of Pumpkinhead running off, his mother chasing after him and - her anger flared a bit at the sight of Gullwing. Wretched little whelp of a half-sister. Hearing Oathkeeper's words to Hero and Winner she padded forward to stand between the two. "What is going on?" She half asked, half demanded to no one in particular.

Hero blinked slightly at pumpkin head as he was called a later..tater? But that wasn't the half of orange wolf's words - and if anything the rest of them were even more confusing. Something about spirits and water and screamy blue fur. At least the screamy blue fur bit made sense that couldn't be anything but Spell.
"I..see" Hero stumbled over his words as the blue wolf turned about and slunk off again "Well, good night!" He called towards her in hopes it would placate her some, and of course Oath had everything well in hand. He was about to volunteer to help out as well when She came in. Hero's eyes turned all googly when Abyss made her appearance, was it all his imagination or did her pearls absolutely glow in the moonlight? She was so pretty...
"Abyss" He greeted her in an overly warm tone "Spell says Pumpkinhead is halluc..."
"Dumb mutt" Winner whispered under his breath as Pumpkinhead ran off with his strange mother, whatever the orange brat was up too Winner was pretty sure it was stupid and pointless. In any case he wasn't about to help someone who labeled him a 'later-tater' He'd shown up in flash if h remembered it correctly...or at least before Hero had and really, thats all that mattered.
He snorted slightly and was about to leave himself when he took note of the look on hero's face. My. That was interesting...and certainly not something to pass up. Slinking about behind Abyss he shouldered Hero off to the side so that only he stood beside her. "The nut job thinks he saw a ghost or some such" Winner interrupted Hero's speech.

"Nope! Maybe I sprainz the brainz tho~" Pumpkinhead barked to the sky with a cackle, thoug has soon as he realized he was being followed without a leaf full of water as he liked, why, the omega stopped right on a dime and whipped about, scowling right at Oathkeeper. "Water!" he yelled, in case she hadn't heard the first time. "Leafy with water! Gogogogo, spirit might chomp chomp if not hurry! C'mon, Momma P!" he said to DP, and then picked his pace right up again.
Would the spirit have moved on while they took forever and ever? Or was it a patient ghosty? He didn't want to disappoint the pack, least of all his momma and Gullwing, so he could only hope it hadn't fallen back asleep or something while waiting - if spirits could even do that!

Oath blinked, not liking to leave him be so, but Pumpkinhead was the type to move on with his plan whether or not others agreed, and certainly DP would only raise more ruckus if her son's demands were not adhered to. So she merely nodded, turned, and loped right back, panting lightly by the time she arrived near Pride Rock. "Ah, good eve, Abyss," she intoned politely, looking embarassed that yet another wolf had been awakened. "It seems something is disturbed in our burial grounds and Pumpkinhead has asked for us to bring water within leaves to appease the spirit. Whether or not this is true I will find out, so please return to your dens and sleep if you are tired." Though no-one else had followed her advice, she thought she might as well say it.
"Leaves, broad leaves . . . If you do not plan on sleeping, mind helping me find some to carry back?" Another weak plea, but what was she to do now that Pumpkinhead had splintered off?

Abyss looked between the two males as Winner pushed Hero aside as he tried to explain the situation. These two certainly did have that odd competition going on between them even during a situation like this. "Hero, Winner." She said smoothly as she took in Winner's explanation. So Pumpkinhead thought he saw something, what's the big shock there. The omega always seemed a bit off, so why should his antics tonight be any different.
When Oath stopped to ask for Abyss' help in whatever it was Pumpkinhead though this so called spirit needed Abyss gave her a disgusted look. Her help the crazy omega gather things? Not likely, but then an idea struck her which would certainly get her out of this duty and put the two boys standing beside her to work and possibly in a competition to see who could do it better. "Me help? Oh I think not. Especially when we have these two strong strapping lads here that would be more adept at gathering whatever it was that this Spirit needs." She paused for a moment to look at Hero and Winner. Hero seemed to be staring at her the same way he had been those days ago at the river and Winner, well there didn't seem to be much going on in that wolf's mind right now. "Isn't that right boys?"

Hero was staring at Abyss with an absent look on his face, when he realized Oath had returned and Abyss had spoken he shook his head a little and snapped his jaw shut because he realized he might have been drooling a little bit. Lifting up his head and puffed out his chest a bit "Help? Why of course...thats what I do, Always ready to help ladies" He told them in a voice that he tried to make sound smooth before nodding at Oath and giving Abyss a warm look before trotting off mumbling 'water in leaves..water in leaves...'
Winner arched a brow at Abyss as she offered him up to help, he actually snorted a bit and opened his mouth to tell the blasted female just what he thought about helping out on this escapade. Sure he'd been willing to help in the beginning..bu that was before Pumpkinhead dismissed him as a 'later tater' and Oath had told him to go and sleep...like they didn't need his help. Well fine let them do it on their damn own! See how far they got.
Or at least thats what he was going to say and do - until h caught sight of the look on Hero's face. Obviously he was taken with Abyss and Winner did so adore taking things away from that worthless fool, so he let a smile slide onto his maw "Of course" He told the two ladies "I'll do what needs doing" He told them though he made sure to catch Abyss' eye - even slip her a little wink before sauntering off after Hero to look for water.

Ah, dear Abyss still led on males? Oathkeeper chuckled a bit as the two, in their own fashions, agreed to her request and tottered right off. "It seems you still have a way with men," she commented after Hero and Winner left. "Though might I ask you be gentle with Hero? He is still bent on championing a cause, and if it turns out to be only for your affections, I am afraid his journey will be for naught." And she would hate to see a heart like his falter, especially with Winner deciding to meddle. With that, Oath trotted after the pair to help collect a third leaf of water.

Eventually the Pumpkins made it back to the graveyard far south from the center of the pack's lands, a dry and hardened place near the vast forests to their west. The pair of wolves made their den in whatever large hole they found - if not a den - but it was not towards these pockets in the ground that Pumpkinhead led his mother to; rather, it was a minor bump in the path that he brought her to. "Here, here!" he called, and strided right up to it and poked it with a paw. "SPIRIIIIIIITZ. I BE BACK WIF MA MOMMA! CAAAAAAAAAN YOOOOOOOOOOOU HEEEEEEEAAAAAR MEEEEEEEE?" After all, maybe it was from hell, and hell was a very, very, very deep down place, yes?
There was a pause, then: "Yeah, I think so, yellsome. Didja bring water by any chance? It's rather dry in here."
"It'sa comin', promise! I woke up half the pack to get you some," Pumpkin replied with a big grin, pleased with his work and waiting for praise.
"Great, great. So, my little savior, mind digging me out? I need some fresh air. It's been, what . . . a week or something?"
That wasn't praise! He pouted, and then a confused frown appeared upon his face. "Ghosties can come out on his own, right? You can go in and out of things."
"Yes, well, I'm not quite dead enough to know how to do it yet. So mind helping a fellow out? There's a teeeeeny hole you can start at."
And sure enough once Pumpkinhead circled about several times, he found a small indention in the bump. "Well okies? Hold up!" And thus he began to dig.

Abyss couldn't help but smile in satisfaction as Hero and then Winner went off to attend to the task. Though the wink that threw her way didn't sit well with her. Winner was a bit too gruff for her liking. And even if she could overlook that there was the other issue of him always trying to prove himself better that Hero. A little competitiveness was nice and all but she thought those two took it too far most of the time.
Turning her attention to Oath now Abyss allowed her smile to drop. "Only when that blasted Gullwing isn't around." She said bitterly, almost hoping that her half-sister was around to hear that. "Males do need some encouragement every now and then you know, there is no harm in that." Giving her head a shake Abyss watched the blue female trot off.

Although he had started off after Hero on the search for water, Winner managed to get to DP and his frantic digging before the fluffly floof of a wolf - a fact which would have made him smile - if he wasn't afraid of dropping the water he'd managed to bring along.
It wasn't much water - but really how much could someone be expected to bring in a leaf? And whatever it was they were supposed to water could just darn well walk down to the stream if it wanted more as far as he was concerned.
"Now what'in Telk are you doing Pumpkin?"
Hero showed up later then Winner and a dismayed look crossed his face when he noticed that fact, but he had managed to bring more water then the darker wolf and that mollified him a bit as he made his entrance being far more careful with his water then Winner had been with his. no doubt the dark wolf had spilled most of the liquid in his bid to beat him here! Well just went to tell you that rushing about and being first wasn't always the best.
