Bowing his head, Phiel let Zeke lead him again. Now that he had Zurine with him, what need did he have to hurry? Unless she wanted out, which, truth be told, he could tell she was somewhat reticent about. Behind him, hesitating, Zurine floated, looking around and frowning a bit. Phiel supposed he could understand that. If she had never been out of that room before, then it would be understandably nerve-wracking to do so, he thought with a frown. Carefully, after a moment, he offered his hand to her, looking closely. "It is all right, Zurine," he murmured quietly.
She looked faintly suspicious, but after a moment, her hand gently fell in his, cool fingers curling tightly around Phiel's gloved thumb. It was a strange sensation, and an even stranger feeling, which curled itself firmly up in his heart, warm and gentle and cool at the same time. "I know," murmured Zurine with a slight nod, setting a soft bobbing motion through the feathery crown at her hairline. This time, when Phiel moved, she moved with him, catching up a bit to Zeke and letting him close the door behind them now. The pale Frei did not seem overly displeased when Zeke passed her, only cooling the air a bit.
"A card is more than fine," Phiel murmured, faintly distracted, as he followed behind Zeke with a faint chuckle. Truth be told, much as he preferred cool climates, it was still welcome as he felt the air warming slightly. For her part, Zurine slightly hung back behind him as she saw the light brighten and the temperature normalize, squinting faintly. Her pupils contracted, not that Phiel could see them in the darkness of her irises, when they padded through the main doors. Phiel was more than fine with sheltering her from the bright light that seemed to be making her flinch away, keeping himself as much between the windows and the delicate creature that he had promised to protect. The light seemed to glow from within her, though, and Phiel was more than a little dazzled.
"Thank you," Phiel murmured, making sure that he reinforced each number in his head before tucking the card into the pocket of his vest carefully. "I will keep in touch... As you have my number, clearly, you should feel free to use it if necessary." His smile was narrow and amused at the admonition, however.
"I have every intention of taking very good care of her... and from the looks of things, she will take care of me, as well." He couldn't help a laugh as one dainty pale hand reached out, around him, and plucked the card from his vest, reeling it in to examine it.
"I will," Zurine replied, holding the card close and attempting a wink, but only succeeding in wriggling her dainty nose a bit. "We go?"
"I do believe," Phiel said with a chuckle, amused, "that we do." Offering his hand, he reached out to shake Zeke's again. "Take care, then?"

"Of course," he said in regards to having Phiel's number. That came standard on the applications that Alex had shown him on his tour in January. "But the Lab shouldn't call unless something major has come up or if you make an appointment for Zurine but neither of you show on the date." At least, he figured that's how it worked. Judging by the note he had been left in regards to the bodyguard showing up, the phone was also used to make the obvious call to the new guardians, but beyond that, he hadn't the foggiest. Best to go with what he figured. He was likely right at any rate. Zeke laughed with Phiel at the next thing the older man said, nodding with gusto.
"I believe you." He also watched the new Frei examine the card, chuckling and she attempted the wink but could only wiggle her nose. She was too cute, really. "Yup. Time for you to meet the world Zurine." The vet's hand reached out and grasped the one offered by her guardian, giving the man a firm hold and a shake goodbye. "Thank you, you as well. You're going to have quite the experience on your hands my friend. And remember, anything that comes up - anything at all - don't hesitate to call. We care about them just as much as the guardians do and we don't want to see any injured or worse." He flashed Phiel a smile, letting the man's hand go and deciding to do one better. Zeke moved from behind the receptionist desk, walked to the door and held it open for the two. A cool breeze blew in from the street but it had warmed up just a tad since Phiel had arrived, but with that soft gust of wind came a feeling of change, new experiences, and the promise of a good life. As the pair moved to and then out the door, Zeke leaned on the glass and waved at their departing backs.
"Take care, again, and enjoy the rest of the day, eh?"
