Maggie waited in front of the goal, bouncing from foot to foot and watching her new friend. She had to keep ready to move, right? Since she was a little kid, the girl didn't have very much experience with properly playing the sport, but she could try, right?

Eve took a deep breath and kicked the ball in the direction of the goal like her mother had showed. Though her kick was weaker than her mother, Eve was glad to simply have hit the ball at all.

Maggie barely managed to half fall over and stop it from going in. "Yay! I got it!" she laughed, before standing and carrying the ball to where Eve stood.
"Your turn again!"

Eve laughed and nodded, moving back over to the goal. It was fun playing with Maggie though the ragdoll still worried about her mother.
Lila watched from the spot, smiling as Eve seemed to be somewhat happy and that also meant the girl would be tired when they got home.

The brown haired child tried to kick as best as she could, but missed the goal. She laughed at that, "Wow, that was bad."
"You okay, Eve?" the freckled child asked after she'd gone to fetch the ball. The other toddler seemed out of it.

Eve nodded, "I'm just worried about my mommy, that's all. Good kick." The little girl had been failing to hide her worry, so she had admited it. She moved away from the goal, "My turn."

"What's wrong with your mommy?" Maggie asked, going to stand in front of the net. If her Daddy were sick or in trouble, she wouldn't be out playing.

"She's working right now and I'm worried that she'll never come back," Eve hadn't told Lila her worries, didn't want the nanny to worry too much. Eve kicked the ball, but missed the goal by a lot. She ran to get the ball.

"Oh. That's too bad. What does she do?" Maggie asked, waiting for the other girl to fetch the ball. "I hope she gets back okay."

Eve wasn't about to tell the girl all about her mother's job. She used what Lila had told her about her mother's job. "She works as a bodyguard," it was closer to the truth and Eve hadn't been told about what her mother really did. Eve was too young to know that her mohter killed people for a living.
Eve got the ball and nodded, "She got hurt, I think, the last time she worked."

"Oh. My daddy has some of those when he's home." Maggie agreed, "They've gotta be tough cause they protect important people." And back when her daddy was at his home, he was a very important person. "My Daddy skates."

"My mommy doesn't tell me who she guards. She's a dark elf," Eve was curious if Ivy had ever guarded Maggie's father. Eve looked up when she heard Lila coming over, "It's lunch time, Eve. Maggie can join you if you want. There should be enough for four."
Eve looked at Maggie, "You want to eat lunch with me?"

"I don't think his bodyguards are girls. Or dark elves." Maggie said before waving to Lila again.
"Thanks but no. I promised Daddy I'd go back to him so we could go out to lunch after I played." the bird girl said with a smile. "Thank you though. It was nice playing with you Eve."

Eve nodded, "All right. I hope I can play with you again another time. It was fun." Eve handed the black and white ball back to Maggie, happy to have made a friend.

"Yeah, you too!" Maggie said, waving and dashing off to find her Daddy. Well that'd been fun, if short. But she was little so knowing what was and wasn't short fun was hard.
