With a rather pitiful look, Badawi watched as the God seemed to want to take his meal and eat in peace. Not that he could blame him. He nearly lost that gazelle to scavengers after all.
Though, what happened next took him by surprise. Blinking in confusion, he glanced from the carcass, to the leopard, to the god, then back to the carcass. Was the big male serious? Then again he didn't seem much of the joking type...
He was rather hungry, though he didn't know if the lion had anything planned here. Tentatively, he began to inch towards the carcass. For now, the hunger was winning over his reason, but he was still rather stiff with his movements.

Kamau watched as the lion picked up his kill and now, appeared to be running off with it. He sighed. He wasn't about to run after the lion and expend even more energy for a few scraps of gazelle. However the lion did something peculiar; it stopped several feet from them, let the carcass drop and then faced them again. The leopard was quite puzzled, until he lion told them to come and take it.
What was the lion up to? Kamau wondered as the other started to inch towards it. Either he wanted to see who was the braver (or stupider) animal and would take out the one who got closed. Or, he though darkly to himself, he wanted them to fight amongst themselves for the food.
Ears pinned to his head, he also began to move towards the carcass, watching the other two lions movements. In truth, he didn't want to fight the other lion for the carcass; he seemed very timid and afraid, and chances are if it did come to a fight he would back off...at least he thought so.

Kongwe didn't move toward or away from them. He waited for their approach, as slow going as it was. It was intelligent of them to be cautious, the God had the advantage. They wouldn't know what they were in for, so going in all too eagerly would be foolish.

The leopard's movements caught Badawi's attention. Of course the other cat would be going in for the scraps as well. Though, he really hoped it wouldn't come down to them having to fight over the chunks of meat that were left. He really didn't want to fight.
Partially because a part of him felt that he may lose it, even against a smaller cat.
Still, for now, he pressed on towards the corpse. He kept his eyes and ears on high alert, in case the God decided to change his mind about his offer, or if the leopard decided to try and take him out. All in all, he felt this too good to be true.

He was starting to get tired of all this caution, and the heat was not helping things. He could tell the other lion was watching him now to see what he would do.
He was starting to doubt the larger lion was going to attack them, unless he decided to provoke him further. He would of attacked them earlier if it was the case.
He sped up a little, so he could reach the carcass first, but didn't start to eat it yet. Personally he wondered if they could both eat some of the carcass, then he could wait untill he could actually find some mroe game.

Taking note that the leopard was picking up the pace, Badawi hesitated momentarily before doing the same. And before too long he found the carcass (and the god) not far from him at all. Being up close to the other lion like this was very unsettling and he didn't know if he was going to be attacked.
But again, hunger won out over fear. At least this time. So, very very carefully, he inched closer towards the carcass while reaching out to try and grab a hold of the closest bit so he can then try to run off as fast as he could.

I hope he doesn't try to run off with it..Kamau thought to himself. A he was leaning down to take a bite, so did the leopard, but not as slowly. As quick as he could, he reached down, bit into the carcass and then jumped backwards, taking a small mouthful of food with him.

Once they'd grabbed hold, both of them at nearly the same time it seemed, the God jerked his head backward in an attempt to pull the carcass out of their grasp. If they didn't have a tight hold, it would most likely be tugged violently away. Even so, they'd each likely get at least a mouthful.

Badawi's eyes widened as the carcass was yanked away, causing him to lurch forward with it. His bite wasn't that strong there, so it slipped away from him, leaving a chunk of meat in his mouth. Startled, he scampered back a few feet before looking back at the god and gulping down the chunk he had made off with. Of course it wasn't going to be that easy. It never was.

He was glad he decided to only get a mouthful, because as soon as he let go the bigger lion began to tug on it, pulling it out of the smaller lions mouth. Of course he had something else up his sleeve.. He thought darkly. But now, he was just about fed up. The small morsel of food he got did nothing to tame his hunger, and this lion acted like he was the king of the savana.
Without warning he jumped forwards, fastening his teeth around one edge of the carcass. He wasn't trying to out-match the other lion in strength, he was trying to get a few more mouthfuls of food while he could.

The leopard's return was what Kongwe had honestly anticipated from the both of them. Pulling his head back, the God dug his claws into the soil to tug harder against the leopard's force.
Eventually, a large chunk of flesh ripped away with the larger part remaining in Kongwe's possession. More than a few mouthfuls on Kamau's part, though.
A growl rumbled in Kongwe's chest, and he plopped onto the grass once more, pinning the gazelle down with a forepaw and licking at it almost tauntingly as he stared at Badawi expectantly.

With some apprehension, Badawi saw the brief struggle between the other two. It seemed that the leopard managed to get a decent chunk. Shifting his weight, he glanced back at the carcass and licked his lips.
It was quite a tantalizing sight. He really didn't want to get mauled but his hunger was overriding most other thoughts. The small bite he had gotten didn't help over all as well.
Cautiously, he inched forth before attempting to grab the meat and run perhaps.

Kamau was slightly amazed he had gotten away with more meat then he though, much less then with his hide in tacked. He quickly put some distance between himself and the other lion, And then devoured the meat he had succeed in stealing.
As he did so he looked at the more cowedly lion who was now attempting to grab something to eat. He wondered if, somehow, the bigger lion was trying to test their courage to see who would risk more to eat. Again he had to fight back a snarl at the lions arrogance, but for now he was satisfied. The amount of food he had eaten wasn't much, but it should keep him satisfied until he was able to get a more sustaining meal.

Waiting until Badawi had inched forward just close enough to reach out for the carcass, Kongwe swung a paw out quickly in an attempt to cuff him across the jaw. It would be a harsh blow if the lion didn't move quickly, but luckily for him the God hadn't extended his claws.
"You act like a cub!" He bellowed, drawing the meat closer to him with his free paw and digging in his claws.
Kongwe wasn't sure why he was being so 'nice' about giving these scavengers free food... It was entertainment, he supposed.
Even so, he was already growing bored with this toying.

Badawi let out a yelp as he took quite a smack to the face. It wasn't a serious blow but it was still quite the shock. He soon scampered back and away with his ears lowered. The comment the larger lion made didn't help much at all.
Cowering a fairly safe distance, he stared at the gazelle's body before glancing back at the other two. The leopard was lucky to get a nice chunk there. But he supposed he'd have to make due with the amount he had managed to gobble up before the God appeared to reclaim his prey.
