Wrathful Demigod

It was quite nice sharing a up of tea with someone out in the middle of the forest. It wasn't something she'd have normally sought out to do, but now that she was actually doing it, she found it very relaxing. The company wasn't bad either. Zhong seemed a fairly respectful, inquisitive young man, and didn't ask a lot of awkward personal questions.

Questions on magic seemed more an exchange of learned knowledge, even if the magic they were discussing was hers. He did have a fair point though.

"Illusions?" She paused, pale, lily colored eyes slipping tot he side as she thought further on the implication. It was a good idea, and she was slightly embarrassed that she hadn't already thought it up, which in turn made her sit up a little straighter, frown a little harder as she sipped her tea. "Indeed that would be an intelligent move." She was grateful for the idea, but she wasn't the best at showing it.

Instead, she cleared her throat and took another bite of the biscuit, letting the buttery flavor melt along her palette. He could be modest all he liked, but the baked goods had been made perfectly. "Well I wouldn't say that. I haven't tasted better then these." It was actually a rather good compliment. shin had access to private chefs, and still his biscuits were better.

Her own thoughts pushing forward, the dark lunarian turned her head, listening the unnatural silence that still surrounded them. The magic she'd laid over the area would fade any moment now if she'd kept track accurately. Glossed lips parted and she counted down silently, ticking off the seconds with a tap to her thigh by alternating fingers. As she got to one she stilled, a whimsical smile touching features as the first chirrup of crickets rose tentatively from the brush around them. "The choir awakens."

The silent forest burst forth with life like it did on the dawn of spring. Pulling from his belt a couple of seeds the Lunarian tossed them gently on the river bank and watched as red cardinals and blue-jays came swarming down to the banks to grab a bite of the sweetened birdseed. His eyes glistened with approval as other animals came out to fetch similar snacks from around the river bank.

His mind concentrated on the birds for a few moments before his mind guided him back to Shin Mu. The other was sitting patiently across from him. The Lunarian nodded at here and only sat silently, listening to the singing forest around them. He had no more information or advice to seek from the other, and with a moving he figured it time to return home.

"I should be seeking your pardon before the sun falls on this occasion." he offered, holding out the pot of tea for the other to take, "This pot is yours, and the mixture inside will be warm for some time. I will leave the small basket too. It will be my pleasure, but I must beg your leave."With that he stood, and doing as he promised, he stole away only the larger basket, carrying a few picked herbs from earlier that day and moved away slowly into the forest.

His journey home took him the remaining daylight, as he had found himself further from his path than he had originally intended. His legs and mind did not acquire as to his reasons for pushing them so far. He enjoyed meeting the Lunarian Shin Mu. Her mind and thoughts intrigued him.

For now, he needed to store away the leaves and return to work.

Shin had fallen into her own thoughts as the forest came back to life around them. The calming spell was much more effective on smaller, simpler animals. She needed to make it work as well on other lunarians. Also, work with Liu on something a little more offensive. Illusions and sounds to distract and incapacitate. She also wandered idly if perhaps she shouldn't add a small dagger to her wardrobe. One can never be too careful, after all.

Pale eyes blinked as Zhong spoke, and she settled her attention back on him. "That's quite alright, it is getting late, after all." She should be getting back herself.

She took the offered pot, surprised by the kindness, but pleasantly so, and smiled up at him. "That is very kind of you, thank you. It was very nice speaking with you, and I bid you good evening, Zhongxian." She watched as he packed up his belongings in the remaining basket and made his exit into the trees.

Alone, she did the same. Placing the teapot into the smaller basket after taking a last appreciative smell of the delicious tea inside. As she got to her feet, and started the walk home she felt Liu's presence again, and the disapproving sniff made her smile.

"Don't be upset Liu, that young man gave me a good idea, and there will be much to discuss with you tomorrow." She knew it would please him, and was rewarded with a mostly quiet walk home. Him speaking up only to ask the most harmless of questions.
