That tends to be the opposite of what I do. I go through most of the storyline, and then I stop to do a million sidequests... and when I run out of sidequests (that I don't suck at *cough*), I go back and visit everywhere... talk to everyone... and maybe, maaaaaybe I'll eventually get to the final boss.
