"Well, my herd is not very big compared to the larger herds around these parts... Our protector is an angeni by the name of Cuauhcoatl. He's really big, even bigger than father, and has these two pairs of huge wings on his back! Despite being so big though, he's not a very loud kind of Soquili; in fact, I think he's rather shy!" Cabriole smiled despite the fear in him; it is comforting to talk about home and those he regard as family. Giving another smile, the colt continued, "His mate is an usdia by the name of Ikinya. She's really nice and was like a mother to me before my real mother came back!"
He nodded at her last question as he rounded a corner into surroundings that he was more familiar with, "I'm sure we're close! We were here just now too, I'm sure of it." Suddenly, he stopped and changed direction, cantering into the forest with a grin before peeking out from behind the bushes and exclaiming, "I know my way back from here!"
He paused before adding worriedly, "So, where are you going from here, Takoda?"

Takoda smiled, at least Cabriole seemed at east more now, but it did him well that he stayed slightly cautious, it did no one good to completely forget a danger, she beamed at him when she saw how proudly he spoke of his herd, especially when eh talked about the Usdia female, who was mated to the Angeni "they seem like a perfect pair Cabriole, it isnt often you have two mothers, which it must seem like"
Takoda carried on follwoing behind him, when he dissapeared round a corner, as she turned around it herself she couldn't see him, panic started to rise in her chest as she tried to get her sense togather to see if she could decet the cause of him being gone, when suddelny he popped out from amongst a bush, she was about to scold him when he asked her a question.
It took Takoda a little while to think about that answer, taking a big breath and a sigh "i dont really know, first i am going to walk back to the herd with you, and make sure you're safe, and warn them about whatever it was back there in the trees, then i guess i'll be travelling on again"[/b[ she replied, feelign a little pang at leaving the bubbly young colt, but knowing she must move on, she could never stay in one place for long.

Cabriole looked surprised for a moment, but allowed a chuckle to escape his lips before nodding, "Yes, yes it does! And they're both good mothers too!" He frowned, however, sensing that Takoda seemed upset at her own reply. He paused, mulling over it for a moment before offering the mare a smile, "The thing about being in a herd, is that I'll always be there, so you can always come visit!"
He smiled again before gesturing for her to follow; there was an unmarked path, worn down by animals over time, that they had to follow to get to the entrance of the herd.

Takoda smiled, "yes i'm sure we'll meet again, maybe next time we do, you'll be starting a herd for yourself" she said cheerfully, following along behind cabriole, content to let him lead while she lost herself in her thoughts.
While she was following behind Cabriole, she felt her skin prickle, like someone was watching them, trotting beside the colt she leaned her head down a little "Cabriole, we're being watched, i dont know by who, it doesnt fell like the thing from before, but someone or something is still watching us" she said, gesturing with an ear flick in which direction the watcher was "we had better hurry to your herd" she suggested

"A herd for myself?" Cabriole blinked before musing over it and letting out a chuckle, "That sounds like a long, long time away!" He trotted cautiously, making sure that he was on the right path; things around the forest can change at times, so he was relying on his instincts and sense of direction rather than by landmarks.
At Takoda's prompt, however, Cabriole nodded with a soft 'yes', a shiver running down his spine at the thought of being watched... And possibly by hungry or even murderous eyes too! He frowned, "Let's make a break for it, we're almost there." He sped up into a canter and then a gallop, taking back glances once in a while to check that the mare was still following him; he wouldn't want her getting lost, especially not when there's a possible danger lurking around.
Leaping off a fallen log and around a few trees and bushes, he finally slowed down when they reached a small clearing, with mountains in the background. Turning to his new friend, he panted, "Well, the herd's just ahead so I can go in myself... Are you sure you'll be safe down here? How about just staying in herd territory for the night in case whatever was in there is still around?"

Takoda smiled, "it might not be as long as you think" she said eyeing the young colt, seeing great potential in him, he was brave but not afraid to admit his faults or when he was scared. She thought about her own family, and thought it would be nice to have a close knit one like Cabriole seemed to have, unlike the spread out one like hers.
She shivered along with Cabriole, speeding up her walk when he replied and started off at a fast canter then a gallop, it caught her by surprise for a minute and she just stared at his dissapearing rump, then she shook her head and galloped after him, "no fair, you got a head start" she puffed, trying to take her mind of whatever had been watching them.
They reached a clearing and she slowed swiftly, halting just behind Cabriole, thinking of his question and looking up at the gathering gloom, she nodded "i suppose one night in the herd wouldn't hurt" she managed to chuckle a little "Very well Cabriole, lead on, if you think they would welcome me" and she looked towards where the colt had indicated his herd was

"They will," Cabriole nodded with an encouraging smile as he trotted into herd territory, gesturing for the mare to follow. His herd's alpha and protector were one of the friendliest Soquilis he know and he was sure that they would never turn away someone who needs their protection... After all, this someone did save his life from whatever was trailing them in the forest and possibly from death as well!
"They're not the kind to turn away someone who needs their help," He added, turning around to make sure that Takoda is following, "Welcome to the Yectenehua Herd!"
