KaiWith the others recovering from various battle injuries and illnesses, the time had finally come for Kaiyou to take his turn doing one of the things he liked the least; shopping. He stepped in, headed straight for the TM counter, and snatched up the Poison Fang TM without hesitation. It was on the list, and therefore must be obtained. He dropped the 3000PD on the counter where the TM had been, and stowed it away, leaving the shop with his head ducked meekly. He wasn't normally a welcome visitor to this particular shop...

KetsuekiKetsueki floated in, and swiped seven thousand PokeDollars onto the counter, tilting her hat politely to the unusual Butterfree behind the counter. Ummm, an Ancientpower and a Giga Drain, please." She told the Flying-type warmly, gesturing to the TMs on display, tucked away safely. She assumed that they were probably a little more delicate than was safe for putting out where the public could handle them. Moments later, a pair of strange, glass marbles were set gently onto the counter, and swept into a small, cloth bag. The Mismagius swiped her ghostly cloak over them, and they disappeared. Tipping her hat once more, she gave the Butterfree her thanks, and wished her a happy holiday. The Ghost melted swiftly into the shadows, and left through the window, rather than the door, which, by now, was overflowing with people.

| Rani |A huffy nidoran made her way through the crowd, nearly shouted at those close to even touching her body when she reached the front. This was only a little piece hell. Last minute shoppers. The poison pokemon threw a bag of cash on the counter. "Give me that charcoal you have," she told the butterfree promptly, snatching it up and leaving as soon as she received it. So much for please and thank you.

TolinTolin looked at the front of the shop. Open talk and a few directions had taken him here quite quickly. It was surprisingly easy; apparently the one inside didn't feel the need to keep themselves hidden. Maybe they simply didn't care, or perhaps they didn't view themselves as abnormal. He walked up to the door and opened it. The store inside was empty. Of course, why wouldn't it be? Every other normal shop was closed; only a few restaurants and street vendors were open on Christmas. The people walking by on the street simply passed by the shop without a second glance. Besides Tolin, only the shopkeeper was there. And that was who he wanted. " Good morning."

SuicuneWell, it was an interesting experience at least. Suicune had come back repeatedly to the guild to check on the health of the Pokemon that had helped saved her home. When she had heard the Butterfree fretting over the problem of leaving the shop for the secret Santa...Suicune had volunteered. Thank goodness nobody really came in here. The one person who did in a rush to buy a last minute present sent the Legendary into a bit of a panic. Though she managed to get everything right in the end, it had taken...a few tries. After that, when it seemed like nobody else was going to come, Suicune laid down behind the counter to take a nap. Her eyes opened the moment she heard someone outside though, even before the door opened and the bells jingled to announce the arrival of a customer. With a yawn the Legendary got up and stretched, sitting back on her haunches behind the cash register, looking fairly out of place and out of her comfort zone. "Well met. May I help you?" At least having been forced to play God for so many Pokemon for so long meant that none of the awkwardness showed in her voice.

Tolin" Well met indeed." He walked forward to the Legendary and stood just on the other side of the register. " Before I get started... I speak a warning. Here and now. What I'm involved in grants me enemies much stronger than either of us and forces that are beyond compare. If what I tell you today is repeated, you could cause a mass panic which would very quickly invite someone to kill you. All I ask is that you hear what I have to say, and if you decide not to help me, do not speak of it again." Whether that was the Elite or Tolin that would kill the Suicune before him was something else entirely. " That being said... What do you know of the balance?"

SuicuneShe was a little taken aback by the...directness of the Scyther's words. She wasn't used to being addressed like that. She was used to awe and respect, in some shape and form, from all mortal Pokemon in her presence. It was actually quite nice. A break from everyone nearby expecting her to start performing miracles or something. She didn't think much of his words otherwise. There was nothing for her to fear, and the threat was very quickly brushed away. Though the bug-type sounded serious, she had little reason to believe that what the stranger was trying to get to would truly affect her in any way. Wasn't it the holidays or something for the mortals? Maybe some of their celebrating went wrong. Or something. She knew that they could get carried away some times. "The balance of what exactly?" She asked calmly, mostly to continue the conversation out of politeness than out of any real curiosity. AKA she has no clue what he's talking about.

TolinShe knew very little then. That was a touch disappointing, both because it made for a much longer explanation as well as a much higher difficulty for recruiting her. If she had known of the issues if only vaguely, then it would be much easier. " The balance of the universe. Arceus is dying." He said it in a very matter-of-fact tone. He was confident in the fact and the longer the conversation took the more likely someone was to intrude. " Do you know of Suecra and Creaus? Do you know of the Lopunny and Gardevoir they're restricted to?" If she didn't know of at least one of those two, he would have to explain everything from the ground up.

SuicuneAh geez. What on earth was this guy talking about. Arceus was that guy people think created the world right? Trying her hardest not to simply give a blank stare, she shook her head. "I'm afraid I am not familiar with anything you speak of." She replied after a second.

TolinTolin suppressed any hint of dismay and eradicated any apparent disappointment. Was this Suicune really that out of touch? That they didn't even know who the literal god was? " Literally nothing? Then... this is going to take some time." Though, this could be advantageous as well. If the Suicune knew nothing of Arceus, she likely felt little debt to him. Convincing her of the seriousness of the issue at hand might be more difficult, but should that happen she would be much more likely to fight Arceus. " At first, all was a void. Then came Arceus. And with him, came power. He created Dialga and Palkia to rule over time and space, then he created the world itself. All of existence came from him, goes the legend." No one knew for sure, of course. None but Arceus himself. " But there's more to that. There's two more 'legends'. It is said that after creating the earth, Arceus sent down his 'light' to create the creatures that inhabit it. That's where it usually stops. But there's a truth to that; one much further. When Arceus cast down his Light, it cast long shadows. The Light saw what it created, and never returned to it's creator. This gives us the three gods; Suecra, Creaus and Arceus. Light, Darkness and Balance. Only some know of the 'God of Destruction' known as Suecra, and only very few know of Creaus." That was the very basics of the three gods. " But that isn't the problem. Arceus is, unfortunately, the only one concerned with stabilizing the world. There is a balance in all things, you see. Predators devour prey. Prey eat plants or whatever they can harvest from the earth. The earth itself eats the predators. Should any part of the cycle fall out of place, the system collapses. If there's too many predators, all the prey die. The predators starve. Then new prey come in once all else is gone and ravage the earth." Balance was a simple, key concept to any function of life. Quite literally. " The universe too has a balance. Of life, and death. Of power. Should that balance fall out of place, everything would collapse. Everything alive and dead would cease to be. The universe itself would die. And that's what we face now. When Arceus's Light left him, most of his power departed from him as well. Without his full power, he is incapable of managing oddities within the balance. And at present, there are many. That is the problem we face. The balance is dying and our universe will go with it." The creatures, the plants. Even the earth itself would simply implode upon itself when Arceus finally stopped sustaining it.

SuicuneAaaaahhhh, holy smokes. What the heck. She decided to stay to help out with some Pokemon she felt she owed, and it results in some crazy old Scyther telling the world is ending. It was a bit much of information to take in, and though she tried not to dismiss all of it, it was all a bit hard to grasp. "Let us assume that what you say is true." She started carefully. Of course she was skeptical. Most people don't wholeheartedly embrace stories about the creation of the world that any stranger tells them. "What do you expect of me?" This guy wasn't expecting her to just go POOF and make things better right? Pokemon seemed to expect that of her a lot and it was annoying.

TolinShe was skeptical. That was to be expected. Fortunately, she was at least open to the idea; or she seemed to be, anyways. " There's something else Arceus did after he created everything. The first time. He created some pendants; one for each type. That is what gave mortal pokemon their abilities. After that, he gave them to Dialga and Palkia who promptly waged war upon one another. All the semi-legendaries joined in, and the result was a bloodbath the world over. The Pendants became extremely powerful and fell into the hands of mortals which furthered the destruction." Arceus was a fool for what he had done. " You're probably wondering why you've never heard of this. As I said, this was the first time. We..." He tapped the table in front of him to punctuate his point. " Are the second time. This time, he created some special pokemon with his blood. Sort of... demigods, almost. Each one took a pendant. These are Arceus's "Elite". His chosen ones. They are the problem that I face. Although less than ten remain, each one is strong. But if they should be killed, the pendants can be retrieved. If we retrieve the pendants we may be able to return their power to Arceus." The meaning was obvious, of course. Returning some of his power to him was good; it meant he could hold the world together better. But that wasn't the end of the plan. " And then, we kill him. Restoring the pendants will help, but they will not solve the problem. They may buy us more time. What we need to do is to take a special artifact back from the Elite. If we use it properly, we can take Suecra and Creaus into it. Once that happens, we can kill Arceus, draw his soul back and then force his other parts back into him." And then he would probably try to kill them. " If we do that, his true power will return. The balance will stabilize and the universe should be fine." Well, that was the jist of it anyways. There was much more to it. It was much more complicated than that. " Essentially, I need allies. Powerful ones. Ones capable of standing up to beings stronger than most, if any legendaries." It wouldn't do him any good to sugarcoat the truth. If she wasn't willing to accept the dangers... she would simply run away when she found out the truth.
